Netto's Painting & Carpentry
After reading through Angie List reviews, we were excited to contact Netto for a quote. After shopping around with 5 other vendors, we approached Netto and asked them to meet one of the other quotes we received. They accepted and we were very happy with the agreed upon cost for a complete re-haul of the exterior of our 3 unit building in Charlestown, MA. The work itself appears to be flawless but time will tell how the paint job handles ware and tear. As far as professionalism, responsiveness and punctuality, we were very pleased! Netto was super accommodating and flexible when it came to changes we made with lighting fixtures and door handles, in fact they sent their electrician back a few times to re-install door handles after we realized that the first set did not work properly with our buzzer. Netto also went the extra mile to secure Boston City permits for the work they were doing. One suggestion I would make would be to ask Netto up-front what permits are necessary to get the job done and if these costs are included in his initial quote.

Rob is GREAT! The deck is absolutely beautiful. I have people walking by complimenting it all of the time. He is very punctual for both initial meetings and when it comes time to do the work. His estimates for the amount of time it would require were right on. He was great at communication, calling frequently to give updates on the projects. The workmanship is top-notch. He and his team struggled to level an enterance way to install one of the storm doors (a job other handymen would not accept because the room and door jam were so off-square), but they did it and it looks great!

The job went very smoothly because John went the extra mile. I had not opened the shutters which I had ordered on line. When John opened them it turned out that I had ordered the wrong hardware to hang the shutters. John went and got the right hardware and did not charge me for the extra time. Shutters look great.

Recent Review: We hired Cechinel a second time because we were pleased with a door repair project they did the prior year. The work on this second project was extensive, and they did a great job. Our windows and doors are mostly over 30 years old and the house is even older. They repaired and replacing deteriorating wood frames and sashes, adding insulation, and generally refurbishing existing structures. They also repaired and painted our entry way, as well as one of the main walls. Finally, they obtained and installed new shutters to match those on the rest of our townhouse. Our unit is 3 stories tall with a sunken area in the back, and they were able to bring the proper ladders and build scaffolding to do the work. We and our neighbors were pleased with their neatness and politeness. Great price and quality. It looked nice, and we really noticed the difference during the winter after the work was done, when we had hardly any drafts around the windows.

Recent Review: Shutters were ordered in early May. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks to receive them. After multiple emails, we were finally informed that the shutters arrived in Aug. The initial installation was on Aug 24. When Rich arrived, he noticed that the shutters were missing the frames for installation so he could not install one of them and installed the other one without a frame. This meant he drilled holes directly into our window sill. He then returned on Sep 29 with the frame for one of the windows. Turns out the other one wasn't missing a frame after all and could have been installed on Aug 24. The cafe shutters were installed with magnets which is not what we agreed to. The full length one he had installed without a frame was not flush with our window so he needed to move it to fix his original mistake. This meant another set of holes. He said at the time he would return to fix any issues with installation. He did return on Oct 4 to remove the magnets from the cafe shutters and install with hinges which is how it should have been done originally. He did not fix any of the damage done to my window sills during his shoddy installation and now I have to hire a painter to patch, sand and paint the window sills at my expense. I would not recommend this company. They were cheap and as they say - you get what you pay for!
