Boston Flat Roof Replacement

Horrible lack of professionalism. I signed a contract for a whole new roof. They told me to wait 5-6 weeks which I did patiently, then he said he was waiting for me to answer a question or two. A small thing we already had discussed and resolved. He never came, nor returned phone calls leaving me in the cold weather months when no one will do a rubber roof. I am stuck until spring to get my roof done and we had a signed contract.

The experience was great. I called three roofers. Two of the roofers told me I would have to replace the whole roof. This company said that is was worth trying to patch it up. He said he would come several times if the patch didn't hold. He did the patch and it did hold. We will need a new roof in two to three years and I will use him again.

The project (new roof on a large house) was completed quickly and we'll. And without a speck of materials left behind. Very very impressed.

Highly professional crew of worker arrived on time as promised. They promptly setup and removed old roofing and installed the new roofing material. Upon completion of the job, cleanup of the premises was awesome.

Outstanding! John Harman is extremely knowledgeable, and professional. He helped me determine what needed to be done and how best to do it efficiently and at a reasonable cost. The job included 2 flat roofs for the side and front porches. The Harco crew of about 8 did the whole job in one day! Excellent work done quickly and well. John came several times to inspect the work and make sure it was done to my satisfaction. I've already recommended Harco to friends of mine. My roof looks great!

Excellent entire job completed in one day and crew appeared very well trained in working in a synchronized, efficient process. End result was a beautiful new roof.

Called Ted in April for leak. He came promptly and fixed. We've been thinking about replacing 20 year old roof anyway. Called Ted for estimate. Gave very fair price and explained all options. Deducted cost of repair from new roof price . Very professional, neat, courteous. Except for new roof could never tell they were here. Even checked in with me via text. Thanks Ted. Duval put a new roof on my house several years ago, but I didn't have them do this flat section. Error of judgement on my part! They were the lowest estimate by far on the original roofing work and did a fine job. I was attempting to cut costs and kept trying to find the flat roof's slow leak on my own. I was totally unsuccessful and water damaged the ceiling underneath over time. It's a relief to have this work done properly. I'm very pleased with both the old and the new roofing work.

I had called multiple roofers for an estimate to either a repair or replace with a new roof; maybe it was because of the summer time that roofers in general seem to be very busy. I had called at least 10 roofers and some either made an appointment but cancelled or never showed up. One of them even said they don't work in East Boston although they were only a few miles away in Malden. I got 4 quotes total including this one from Ranch Renovations. John was very punctual with the appointment and have been very helpful in answering my many concerns/questions after he sent me the intial estimate via email. It took me a while to decide which estimate to go with because a couple of them were in the ball park of Ranch from a pricing standpoint; but John had also applied the Angie's list coupon $240 off that I did not know about. I decided to go with Ranch because of the price and all the great reviews they had. It turned out to be a great decision as a few weeks later, Ranch was able to start work on the start date that John had given to me. Before the job started, Bob had called me a couple days before to confirm the date/time and also to go over their plans on Thursday. When Thursday came, they showed up really early in the AM. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob in person and seeing how great/nice a guy he was. During this time, Bob did an initial walk through of what will be done and he also pointed out that one of the chimneys needed to be repointed because it was getting so old that it looked like it would fall apart. Bob offered to do it at a discount. I also told him that my sister in law had a small leak on the pipe boot of her roof and he offered to fix it for free. Such a great guy. I was very surprised that he said that the roof would be done in a day (ripping out the tar/gravel roof and installing the rubber roof, about 1200 sq ft). Sure enough they came at 7am and were done by about 6pm. I was very pleased with the look and quality of the job that I took a lot of pictures to show family/friends. I would recommend Ranch to anyone that needs a new roof.

team arrived at 7AM, were on the roof by 8AM and worked straight through until 7PM. Replaced 20 roof boards, added extra underlayment (per my request), and removed and replaced gutter guards. I watched much some of the work and was very much impressed with their attention to detail and how they

HOME DEPOT HOME SERVICES GROUP WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE IN EVERY WAY. DIDN'T PROPERLY SET UP JOB, & WHEN ROOF PROBLEM AROSE WITH THEIR ROOFING SUBCONTRACTOR (WHICH HOME DEPOT GUARANTEES TO FIX UNDER THE LABOR & MATERIALS WARRANTY), HOME DEPOT WOULD NOT CALL US BACK. TO DATE 11/22/05, WE HAVE NOT BEEN RESPONDED TO. DURING INSTALLATION, ROOF INSTALLER SAID "HE WOULD NEVER LAY A ROOF DOWN OVER AN EXISTING ROOF". WHEN WE INQUIRED WHY THE FLAT ROOF WASN'T REMOVED BEFORE THE INSTALLATION, THE INSTALLER SAID WE HAD STRUCTURAL ISSUES, WHICH WE FOUND AMUSING SINCE WE HIRED A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER TO GET THE OK TO REPLACE THE ROOF. THE MEMBRANE ON THE FLAT ROOF WAS NOT PROPERLY PITCHED SO WATER IS COLLECTING & STANDING FOR WEEKS. WHEN WE APPROACHED THE "THIS OLD HOUSE" CREW APPEARING AT HOME DEPOT TO ASK ABOUT THE FLAT ROOF PROBLEM, THEY SAID NOT ONLY SHOULD THE ORIGINAL FLAT ROOF HAVE BEEN REMOVED BUT, THE MEMBRANE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PITCHED PROPERLY TO AVOID STANDING WATER.
