Mike's Team of professionals did an outstanding job on our recent home remodel. We purchased our house in 2005 and have been living with a less than optimal Kitchen and Bathroom since then. Old flooring, mismatched counter-tops, dingy drop ceilings and holes in the plaster. We contacted Mike through Angie's list as he had some very good recommendations here. We were not disappointed. Mike came by, assessed the work that needed to be done in our kitchen and gave us a timely quote for the job. We got started right away, scheduling Mike's team to do the work in our Kitchen. Initially we had another contractor doing the work in our upstairs bathroom but that did not work out so we asked Mike if he could take on that job as well. He was glad to do so, giving us a quick and reasonable quote for the work and getting started right away. Mike's paint and plaster team came in (Eddie and his crew) removed the old drop ceiling in our kitchen and half-bath adjacent to the kitchen. The ceilings in this area were plaster/blue board and in horrible shape with large holes and cracks. They removed wallpaper in the kitchen that had been painted over when we first moved into the house. There was a built in Ironing board cabinet in one wall which we had them remove and repair the wall. They repaired the ceiling and walls, and (with assistance from Juan the carpenter on Mike's team) built a frame and blue board box around a Vent pipe that was going from the stove to an exterior wall (this had previously been above the drop ceiling). They did smooth plaster over the blue board and painted the ceiling and walls, it came out great. In the half bath that was built off the kitchen the walls had not been built all the way to the ceiling (just to where the drop ceiling had previously existed) they filled in the space with blue board and built a nice boarder to cover where the two wall types met. In the upstairs bath the paint and plaster team did some moderate wall and ceiling repairs and did a very nice job painting the walls, ceiling and trim inside the bathroom. They did some putty repair on the doors, trimmed the bottom of the doors (to make room for the new flooring we were having installed) and painted them. In that bathroom there is a small closet with a full size door. Mike's carpentry team replaced the shelving in the closet so that the shelves were deeper, then the paint team removed old wallpaper cleaned up the walls and painted the walls and shelves. Another member of Mike's team, Juan, installed a glass and stone tile backsplash in the kitchen between the counter level and the bottoms of our cabinets it came out beautifully. He also installed a similar tile in our upstairs bathroom between the ceiling and the tub/shower insert and a wood trim around the ceiling edge over the tile. We were very please with this work. We had quartz countertops installed from Lowes, Juan removed our old countertops and prepped the space so that the counter installers would be able to do a quick efficient install. Then he remounted our dishwasher after the counters were installed so that it was firmly in place, installing a nice piece of wood trim to cover the dishwasher mounting brackets. Juan installed a new mirror in the bathroom, installed an over-john cabinet, double towel bar, toilet paper bar, hand towel bar and Shower curtain rod. He was an excellent workman, doing beautiful work in a very professional way. He showed me some photos of some other carpentry work he had done, building custom made barn doors for one client and custom built tables for another. Mike's team did a full cleanup after the job, even hauling away all of our construction debris, including two toilets, the old bathroom sink and vanity. Overall we could not be happier with the work that Bauman Remodeling has done for us. We will definitely be recommending them to friends and neighbors. I wish I had the ability here to attach photos, we are so happy with the changes in our home, it feels like we are living in a brand new house. My thanks go out to this team for all their hard work.
