Recent Review: The slate repairs were well done and professional. The work they did to prepare my two porches for the copper gutters was also excellent. The gutter work itself was good, but I am dissatisfied with the finished product for a very specific reason. Jason did not check to see if the porch was level before he laid out all of the plans for the gutter. It turns out the the porch roof is not level. It is sagging quite a lot on the right side, and in the opposite direction of the expected pitch for the gutter. As a result while putting on the gutters he discovered that the normal pitch the gutter should require would not drain the water. Instead, he explained to me, the gutter would be installed at an awkward angle to the porch roof, adding that to change it at that point would require him to re-do a lot of the work he had done getting the gutters ready, such as installing a hole for the downspout and soldering the end caps in place. I agreed, not wanting to waste all that time and material that was already invested, but I wish I hadn't. The gutter squarely in front of my house looks awful. It is at a radical angle. and not nearly level, as it should be. It looks quite stupid actually. After the work was all done and I'd made my unhappy feelings known to him he said that one way to make it right in the future would be to add a downspout on the right side and in that way the gutter wouldn't need to be pitched at all. Had he planned that in the beginning, the new copper gutter on my front porch roof would look splendid and would be a fine complement to my house.

Recent Review: I had a leak in my roof that was causing water damage in my ceiling. It was a tricky one to fix because of its location. I consulted 3 roofers total and Chris gave the most reasonable combined approach and price. They promptly fixed it in a single day (replacing a portion of my roof and rubber membrane to address the leak). I had a minor issue with the trim that I discovered after they finished (a metal piece was not square with the roof and jutted out over the plaster and was not anchored properly). I informed Chris and he happily fixed the issue. Overall, I am happy with Chris' work!

Recent Review: The owner's name is Shawn Magee and the head carpenter is Marcelo. These guys and their crew are simply excellent at what they do. Not only do they have a roofing business, they also do have a restoration business, Magee Restoration where they basically can fix any exterior part of a home and specialize in that. About 3 weeks ago I received a door knob-hanging flyer at my home and it said some friendly stuff about "noticing my roof was in need of some repairs". This was a nice touch because we bought our home only 8 months prior knowing the roof needed to be replaced and I appreciated seeing the presentation of the flyer being something other than the average photocopy/inkjet printer of a letter a contractor typed on his home computer. I called the number at about 5pm on a Friday evening and Shawn answered and said he would stop by in ten minutes if I were interested because he was close by. Within 15 minutes of meeting Shawn I knew he was the type of guy I wanted to hire so I was curious to see his estimate on the job. Shawn talked about what they do and then asked if he could go on the roof to take measurements. Afterwards he gave me a verbal quote of what he was thinking it would cost and showed me a bunch of photos on his iPad from many of their projects. They worked on some serious restorations of roofs, siding replacements, decks restorations, portico's, and exterior trim, windows, and doors on some very large expensive homes. He then wrote me a formal quote and left me with a nice folder including the estimate, about 40 references, and details on the materials they used. One thing they do a little different is they have an option to remove the gutters and bring the Ice Shield down a couple inches to sit over top of the fascia boards to help prevent a common problem area for roofs when ice dams form. I liked that a lot and it gave me the opportunity to have my gutters rehung since I know that was needed too for proper drainage. I did get one other quote from a contractor who came recommended by a neighbor but he took two and a half weeks to get me a written quote, and he was almost $2,000 more expensive. I actually scheduled my work with Shawn before receiving that quote since I felt so confident about the job they would do and knowing the price was in the ballpark I was estimating. The day they started my job it rained a bit so rather than completely cancel they managed to work on the roof of a screened-in porch area since we learned it was in need of some serious repairs from the winter. It was seriously water-damaged and there was a lot of mold. Even the rafters has bowed from the weight of the snow this year (2015). His carpenter Marcelo is one of those guys you know are an absolute passionate tradesman and perfectionist. Two qualities I definitely want when someone is working on my home. It took 3 guys a few hours and they had the entire roof ripped off the porch, including the rafters, rebuilt it and had it ready for ice shield and shingles. I was amazed at how quickly but yet systematic and meticulously they worked together. The following day they showed up with a crew of about 7 guys, including Marcelo and they quickly worked to replace my entire roof with zero breaks. It was very impressive. Unfortunately many areas of my roof ended up being in very bad condition as well as my fascia boards. But I knew I was in good hands. Shawn updated me along the way on how the cost would increase for each thing found but in the end I felt it was very fairly priced. I ended up spending $3,700 more than estimated but the repairs were necessary. The porch area along was a complete roof rebuild job. Again they worked till almost sundown and in one day my roof was basically complete. Marcelo even came back the following morning to wrap up a couple items and replace a bunch of cedar siding shingles that were rotted out since they had the material and again, the guy is a perfectionist. You get what you pay for but no one wants to be taken advantage of. I completely felt confident in the entire process and the pricing. The next day a neighbor drove by, who I didn?t know, rolled down their window and said, ?Your roof looks awesome! You must be really happy!? And I am.

Recent Review: Wonderful!!! The owner, Alex, gave me a detailed description of the work I needed done. Lisa followed up with the necessary paper work. Both Lisa and Alex were a pleasure to deal with. Then the crew got here and Pete, the site manager was also very informative and explained every step the crew was going to take to get the job done. Another great experience. The crew were really nice people. All in all a wonderful experience. My roof no longer leaks!!! While he was here I asked Pete to take a look at the rest of my roof. He took pictures of all the places he saw that were problematic. I knew they were because, they had already leaked and been patched. I asked him to have Alex once again give me a quote for a new roof. Again, Alex was very accommodating and gave me a detailed description of what needed to be done. I was so impressed with the my porch roof , the great people and the great job they did, that I am having the remainder of my roof done on June 11th!!! Recent Review: I had such a positive experience with Flynn Roofing for the first roof I had done with them that I contracted with them again to do another roof for me (rental property). The reason I keep using them is because top down, everyone I dealt with was extremely courteous and professional and I know I’m going to get quality work. The roof needed A LOT of work (repairs to roof, new facia/gutters, new skylight, etc.) and Stephen and his crew did a fantastic job. The folks I dealt with at each step were pleasant and accommodating and kept the lines of communication open. Even my tenant complimented on the crew and the cleanup done at the end of the job. Many of them did not respond to our messages or just promised to repair all damages, but it has never happened. Ten was very responsive, professional and knowledgeable.
