Deck was overdue for maintenance and had rust stains. The coupon indicated that they could sand for an additional charge. I mentioned that when I first wrote to Cinderella. They replied, "Pressure washing usually provides a satisfactory result. Once it is washed you will be able to determine whether going down that more complicated road of sanding the deck makes sense." Fair enough. After the pressure washing was done, I decided that I wanted them to sand the stained spots. So when the tech arrived to seal the deck, I asked him to do selective sanding first, and let me know the cost of it. He seemed not to expect this request at all, and said he did not have a sanding machine. He said he might have some tool he could use, though, and he would check. Then I left for work. I am told that he did some hand sanding of the rusty spots before sealing. The end result is that the deck looks much better, but the rust stains do not look much better than before, and I am not satisfied with that. Then Cinderella proposed another solution. They said, "A 'toner' sealer can be applied. It is much less expensive than staining the deck. ... [W]e could spray the toner on the deck or $85." They proposed to send someone the next day. Unfortunately, I didn't read my e-mail until a day later. I wrote saying, "Let's do it!". But I heard nothing further.
