We originally went with R. Fancourt & Son because they are owned by the same person who replaced our roof. Because of our great experience with the product and people when we had our roof done, we expected the same attention to detail and service with the sidling. The long and short of is is that after spending all that money, the job wasn't finished to our satisfaction. We expressed our concerns a number of times: 1) there is exposed raw, untreated wood at the corners - we decided to go with the vinyl siding because we had problems with wood critters in the past. Having exposed wood puts our house in jeopardy of future damage from pests and the elements. Even now with the snow, before it melted, it was sitting right against that exposed raw wood. 2) places are still not cocked and the places that were cocked are now cracking Unfortunately, I didn't catch these things before making my final payment. As far as ratings go, they would have gotten an A for Responsiveness and Professionalism during the job, if it wasn't for how I felt I was treated with my concerns after the job. If I was just going by that, they would have gotten an F. Finally, I called another siding company to make sure that everything was done correctly. Basically, it was not done incorrectly but there were some things that could have been done to make it better (i.e.: cocking around the windows, taping the seams of the wrap around the house, adding insulation around the windows, and using a composite wood at the corners and not raw wood). So, after all of this, it sounds like there is a possibility that we might or might not have to replace the corners due to the exposed wood. We will just have to wait and see.
