We were impressed by the fair estimate of the work to be performed and have had past positive experiences with Henry. The crew started on the day they said they would start. Soon after starting, the crew discovered that the original estimate would need to be increased. The old windows were installed before interior and exterior trim were added, so therefore the trim needed to be removed so that the new windows could be properly installed. A change order was created which seemed agreeable to us. It took some trial and error, and some of the windows were difficult to install because of settling in our antique home. At the beginning the job proceeded more slowly than expected, which was frustrating for all concerned. Fortunately, once a revised strategy was developed, Henry's son Steve and employee Hal worked very hard and efficiently to do the job correctly. Every day, they tidied up after themselves, including vacuuming and wiping down plaster dust. I work from home and they were always professional, friendly, and hardworking. They also were helpful in an instance where I was given the wrong color of exterior paint -- Steve pointed this out quickly so i could get the right color. He also fixed an annoying sink drain without being asked to. In the end, the windows look fantastic and the carpentry is of excellent quality. The job entailed replacing the windows, reframing, rebuilding trim, and patching and painting plaster around the windows as well as painting the trim. The total time on the job was 2 weeks (the crew came every day except for one rainy day.) Although the job was expensive we feel that the windows have added value to our home, not just because they are energy efficient, but also because the trim was so expertly installed. We are very pleased with the work done on this job.
