We bought 2 gas fireplace inserts during the 'tax free weekend' in August and were told that we needed to have the gas lines in place before the installation could happen. The insert vendor recommended that we work with the DeVito Plumbing and Heating because they were certified gas fireplace installers and had worked closely with the vendor's insert installation team on many fireplace conversions. Paul DeVito was easy to reach by phone and made arrangements to come over with his son, Kyle, to the house on a Saturday morning to scope out the job. Paul gave us the two options for the 2nd floor installation (inside the wall or running the pipe up through the outside of the house) and gave us the pros/cons of both options without pushing his own agenda. The DeVito quote was in-line with our expectations and we worked with them on coordinating having the pre-work done on a Tuesday in order to be ready for the installation on Friday. On the pre-work day, Paul and Kyle arrived promptly at the appointed hour and got right to work on installing the gas lines. The DeVito's worked between the basement, 1st and 2nd floors with a minimum of disruption to the household and left the work areas immaculate when they were done. Before leaving the job, Paul walked me through the installation and took me down to the basement where Kyle was finishing up marking the gas lines and demonstrated the emergency shut-off procedure for the new lines. On the day of the insert installation, the DeVito's arrived promptly and worked efficiently with the installation team. It was obvious to the casual observer that both teams trusted/respected the other team's professional knowledge and they worked in concert to get the fireplaces installed faster than I had expected. During my 3 interactions with the DeVito's, I found them to be prompt, professional and very knowledgeable about the work that they were preforming. They treated my home with a high degree of respect and were very careful about making sure that our indoor cat didn't have an opportunity to escape through any open doors - that may seem silly, but to me, it demonstrated a level of personal commitment to customer satisfaction that I really appreciated.
