The electrician arrived shortly before the scheduled time. He removed his shoes before entering the house to avoid tracking in dirt and finished the work in approximately one hour. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed and low cost.

Just wanted everyone to know - they charge you a $79 "dispatch fee" just to come out - and my home is 5 minutes from their office. That is NOT applied as a credit to any work you have done. I wouldn't mind paying it if they came out and I did not use them for the repair - I understand they don't want people to waste their time. However, if I do hire them, then that fee should be waived or credited toward the work - that is what most legitimate companies do. Would recommend hiring someone else.

I called Ontime Electric after the first company I called canceled the day the appointment was set for and never even called back to reschedule. Ontime actually called several times on the day of the appointment to let me know about when the electrician would be coming, and then again when he was actually on his way. David, the electrician arrived on time and immediately looked at what needed to be done, gave me a written estimate and explained the jobs and details. Once I approved, he got right to work. Everything was done/completed professionally and David was both knowledgable and friendly. He didn't mind me asking all kinds of questions either. I decided to enroll in their Home Protector Plan, which is a good deal especially if you think or know you will need more electrical work done in the near future, which in my case, I will.

the repairman was very professional, just very overpriced. The cost was $212.00 and that was after the Angie's List $25.00 coupon.

Original date promised but changed by Adkins due to staffing shortage (illness?) which is understandable and the requested service was not critical. Technician arrived and quoted the price (staggering). I agreed to it since I have used Adkins in the past and know they do quality work. Project took less than 3 hours which equates to $300/hr. This is outrageous. Will look for more reasonably priced electrician going forward. A real shame.

Daniel was great. Very punctual and professional. Definitely experienced and knew what he was doing. Did not charge me for a couple of trips to get the right ladders/scaffolding-that was most appreciated. Highly recommend Case based on this experience.

Mr. Electric of Birmingham

The technician came out to give an estimate of the job, which at the time included re-wiring for a new electric stove we purchased. The estimate cost $70. This is included in the cost of the job if they do it. The connection to our kitchen ceiling fan had faulty wiring and did not work, as well as preventing the light switch on the wall from working . We also needed the wiring checked to connect a new electric stove. We previously used gas. Once there, he found that our wiring was not up to current code since the house was over 40 yrs old. The estimate of six to seven thousand dollars was prohibitive, so we exchanged our new electric stove for a new gas one and didn't re-wire. He completed the repair in the ceiling for the ceiling fan as well as repaired the switch connection on the wall. He explained why the wiring failed and what he was doing to repair it. It took about an hour and a half if I remember correctly. I was very pleased w/his professionalism and work ethic. I don't remember his name because this was over a year ago.

I looked on Angie's list to find a reputable electric company. I called and inquired about the nature of my problem and was told my ceiling fan could be fixed. I was given a date and time for service which was within 1 day. The serviceman called prior to arriving to give me enough time to get home. He introduced himself and covered his shoes with covers prior to entering the house. He opened the folder to show me the prices upfront before he started the work. After we agreed on what needed to be done, he was able to repair the ceiling fan in about 10 minutes. He was knowledgeable, efficient and extremely polite. He answered all my questions and even fixed the electrical switch while he was here. I would definitely use them again. Before leaving, he explained the importance of having a yearly electrical check to ensure all plugs were grounded and that everything was as it should be. He checked every fuse box and the smoke alarms. He made recommendations that I had not even thought about and because of that, I had him install at the time a surge protector that would protect our TV's and computers in the event of a lightening strike. Overall, a great experience.

Recent Review: Scott arrived and guided me through some things I hadn't considered, regarding the pocket door, including the necessity of moving a light switch. The work was done faster than I expected. The work was fabulous. Scott even helped out the plumber and the tile installer. Outstanding professionalism and quality. The icing on the cake for me - the final bill was a little more than half of the other remodeler's estimate.

Recent Review: i can't say enough about how helpful and knowlegeable both RJ and Bill were during the building process. They would take the time to walk through and say "you will want a light switch here, and here is why...." or "these speakers are just as good as the more expensive ones....". I truly felt like they were on my side the entire time I worked with them and I had a high level of trust with this firm during the building process. The reason I am just now writing this review, however, is becasue I have called them with questions on several occasions - even recently almost nine months after the job is done. RJ is ALWAYS friendly and helpful and answers my questions patiently. I know he gets alot of calls from new homeowners, but he always makes me feel like he is happy to help me out. Last week I called him to ask about a light bulb in the front steps outside my home, and when I got home from work the next day, he had stopped by and put new bulbs in the outlets. I am amazed at the professionalism and kindness the guys from R & B Electric show for their customers. I HIGHLY recommend.

Recent Review: Michael was hired to paint my kitchen, living room, small bath and two bedrooms. No trim work. No patching. He was also supposed to paint metal posts on carport. He estimated this would take about 5 days. He showed up late the first day, left early. He didn't show up the second day. Third day he was even later, fourth day he worked 3 or so hours but he promised he'd be through "no later" than the sixth day, Saturday. And he needed more money to buy gas on the fourth day. He had already been given a deposit. He showed up at noon on Saturday. He brought his 10-12 year old special needs son with him. This child was going through every drawer, box, and closet in our house. We tried to be nice and ask him to not do this. Even Michael would try to make him stop bouncing a ball on my hardwood floors and keep his hands out of the boxes we had packed but his attention span was very, very short. He was inside, outside, upside down in our home. On Monday Michael called to tell me he was through with the painting and wanted us to leave him cash on the counter so he could pick it up the next day. He left an itemized list of charges - which added up exactly to the original list that I had in my purse. Except he had left off doing the work on the outside and added that amount to the cost of painting one bedroom. PLUS he wanted $20.00 for "gas money". Of course, we inspected the house that afternoon. You could see the old colors shining through every where he had cut in - top of walls, around light switches, etc. He had slopped yellow paint on my white woodwork. And he had not touched the outside work. I left him a detailed note of what needed to be done and that we would inspect the work the following afternoon before we paid him. At noon the following day he called my husband at work to tell him he was finished and wanted him to drive 74 miles to bring him cash. We did not do that. We went home that afternoon, looked at the paint job, subtracted the outside amount, left off the gas money and paid him. Then we called a real painter who straightened out the ONE coat he'd painted (not TWO that we'd paid for), fixed the nail holes, and caulked the holes he'd left uncaulked. Michael will tell you he does "all the handywork for many clients in Mountain Brook". If so, they don't apparently give him gas money.
