Rudy's Painting & Drywall

Rudy and his men arrived on time and wasted no time getting to work. They cleaned the deck completely and while it was drying, the worked in the bathroom. Then they hand painted every bit of the deck with a good colored sealer. On day two they finished the bathroom with the first coat and returned the next day to put the finish coat on. The whole operation was done very professionally with no hiccups. I love the way he works and will hire him again and again and again

Our deck has been sadly neglected for several years, and Best Austin Handyman did a phenomenal job taking off many layers of dirt and old paint. We're now ready to stain and seal, and I'm expecting many years of service from our deck now. Thank you!

Contractor first powerwashed our sadly neglected deck, which brightened the wood considerably. I had to provide the waterproofing sealant, and the kind I got had to be applied on dry wood, so he came back the next week to finish the job. I feel much better about spending time on my deck now. I would call them again

It could not have gone better. Jodie was responsive and closely monitored the project. The crew was polite and meticulous. The services were performed to our 100% satisfaction. We will continue to use them in the future for similar services as well as for landscape issues.

Winston and his crew showed up on time, and did a great job. They power washed the house, and removed the rotten wood, finding an ant infestation in the process. All wood was replaced, primed and painted. Very satisfied.

We purchased an Angie's list deal for a Handyman for a day. The work was done well; as per our arrangement, we painted the deck. I ended up painting the wall, but that was no fault of the handymen. Easy to deal with and timely. Will use again for handyman needs

The job went great. We first got a quote from another vendor and they wanted me to supply the custom stain color (which we no longer had and couldn't contact the original painter who did it to get the color). Additionally, their quote was TWICE what 21st Century Paint & Roofing quoted me! Needless to say, we didn't use them. Then we called 21st Century Paint & Roofing. These guys were prompt, courteous, and professional. They did a great job refinishing all the wood and matched the custom stain color perfectly. They told me when some of the water stains and/or scratches might not come out completely and I appreciated the honesty. However, the water stains are barely noticeable. They really made everything look like new again. We encountered 2 issues, and both were promptly and professionally handled. One, was that one of the workers said that they would return the next morning, and he didn't. I did have to call, but when they called me back, they were very apologetic and immediately got someone else to come later that day and were trying to put another team together to finish the job on time, which it was. The other issue was that one screen got damaged when they removed the protective covering, but they took care of it right away and got it fixed. I would definitely recommend 21st Century Paint & Roofing for the quality of their work, their value, and their treatment of their customers

Our hardwood deck had not been re-finished in several years. Certapro was quite responsive to our time constraints for bidding and completing the job and their bid was within $5.00 of other bids, though their bid included one coat of finish rather than two coats included in the other bids. Their bid did not include powerwashing, but the deck did need powerwashing and they performed that task at no additional cost. The quality of their work was good, however the finished deck had some rough spots that still needed treatment. They quoted us a price of $200 to add another coat, though we still had half a gallon of finish. We thought the $200 excessive and added the second coat of finish ourselves. The final product, between their work and ours, is beautiful

SOUTHERN PAINTING

Paint was pealing on all burglar bars, they covered the windows in plastic, power washed, sanded, and painted them, 2 coats of paint. Same for the doors. Such a tedious, drawn-out project and they did an outstanding and perfect job. The power washing made our 13 year old decks look new again and I was astonished at how good the rock deck looked after being power washed. They used some bleach in the solution and it looks like the day it was installed -- really remarkable and so much better than when I've had it washed in the past. All the wood looks new again too and they didn't trample any plants to do any of the work. I had some fencing painted and didn't like the first color I chose once it was on, they immediately stopped, went and purchased a different color and redid it with no hassles. It was 100 degrees every day they were here and we had to leave the doors open 2 of those days to let the oil-based paint dry. I was concerned about the AC and bugs. Benjamin had the openings covered, taped and sealed with plastic, we hardly noticed the heat when standing next to it. Benjamin was the foreman of my job and he is a delight to work with and very professional, going around pointing out tiny areas to be redone or corrected in some way, things I never even noticed. He went above and beyond job performance of any painter I've ever encountered. This project turned out better than I expected because of all the extra touches Benjamin provided with his great attention to detail. I highly recommend Southern Painting and will only use them in the future

They first did the job last year and had done it extremely well. They have now redone it by completely sealing it. It now looks better than it did when it was new. Their price was reasonable and the work was great. They did what they said they would when they said they would. We also had a stain sealer put on our 400 sq. ft. deck. It looks really great

We had worked with Carl two years ago to have him resurface our 500-square-foot deck, add hog wire railing, a set of steps and two gates. He did a great job, and we were finally ready this year to have him add the patio cover. Since we were a returning customer, he honored a discount from two years ago, which was above and beyond expectations. He and his team were also very helpful when it came to getting the building permit from the City of Cedar Park. They were able to slot our job in earlier than expected, so it took quick work to get the permit documents in place, but they made it happen. They listened carefully to what we wanted, made suggestions to improve the design, and finished all the work in just two days. The patio cover itself only took one day to install! The team is courteous and professional, did what they said they were going to do, and we would recommend Carl and his team to anyone who needs deck or patio work

CertaPro Painters of Austin

CertaPro is one of the better contractors I have worked with in Austin. The crew that did the job was punctual and worked on the job site everyday, all day until completed. They were able to start a few days early and work in changes as other items came up during the job. The crew was professional and worked well together. They cleaned up the job site each day to our satisfaction. The trim and interior work was great. When additional items were added to the job they provided timely updates to the scope and bid so there were no hidden costs. This business delivers a great value product for the price. It was worth every dollar spent
Mr. Jon Paulson, proprietor of JP Construction, was immediately responsive to our inquiry. He visited us the following day and provided knowledgeable advice about the problem, about the dwindling supply of Masonite siding and the difficulty of matching our smooth surfaced 'colonial' style siding. We discussed 'spot' repairs, replacement of Masonite with Hardi siding on that wall, and exterior painting either only of that area or or the entire exterior. The day following our discussion he provided a detailed bid for each of the components discussed and told us that he had located a source of Masonite siding. He also provided a full page of references, including both corporate clients and individuals -- perhaps 20 in all -- as well as a link to his firm's listings at the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List. I later telephoned to ask about the possibility of replacing all exterior Masonite siding with Hardi siding; he scheduled a brief visit the following day to calculate the square footage that would be required and submitted an augmented bid by e-mail that included this approach. During his second visit he offered to quote on sealing and painting our wooden deck; I decided not to do so at this time. His bids included a 10% Angie's List discount. We contracted with JP Construction on April 11 for repair of the affected area with Masonite-type siding, which he had located, as well as full painting of all exterior surfaces (the house is about 60% brick clad, with most siding in the rear of the residence). The bid specifically included other minor repairs where siding or door frames were showing signs of wood rot. Mr. Paulson scheduled the job the following week, beginning on April 18. He arrived with a foreman and two workers promptly at 8:30 a.m., reviewed the job with them and us and left his foreman in charge of the work. The team worked efficiently, paid attention to our concerns, and did quality work. The job included pressure washing of all surfaces and materials, removal of damaged siding and attendant downspout, spot repairs, caulking and sealing of all siding new and old, reinstallation of the downspout, hand painting two coats of paint on trim, frames, downspouts, soffits and fascia, then spray painting of garage door, chimney and all siding. The foreman matched the exterior color exactly. The team cleaned up at the end of each day and stacked and stored their tools, ladders and supplies. They were careful to preserve existing plants and vegetation. The foreman kept us informed throughout the process
We received outstanding service and a great paint job from Carnival. They were the lowest bid. We usually won’t take the lowest bid because companies sometimes low-ball the bid and add extra charges after they start the job and find things they missed. In this case, though, Bruce Beltran was so thorough that we knew he caught everything. In fact, he pointed out things that other company’s estimators didn’t notice. We pointed them out to other estimators just to make sure we got apples-to-apples bids. After receiving the initial proposal, we emailed Bruce several times to get clarification or add things and he always replied by the next day with answers and updated proposals. Carnival said it would be 2-3 weeks before we could get on their schedule but Bruce called us 3 days after signing the contract and said his guys wanted to get started the next day. They showed up right on time on Thursday morning and worked all day. They pressure-washed the whole house exterior, as well as two brick patios and front porch, cement patios and walks, and a wooden pergola. Just as Bruce promised, the whole crew stayed onsite the whole day. By Friday at 5:30pm, they were completely done and cleaning up. At one point, they had 8 guys working on our house. It was quoted as a 2-day job and they made sure they got it done. All the work is clean, no paint spills, no over sprays. The paint on the house and the stain on the pergola look great. They also replaced a few rotten boards and a bunch of worn out door weather stripping. We have nothing but praise for Carnival. Highly recommended
Of all the bids and proposals received, Capital Construction Services made the most sense and was competitive. It was clear they were well-versed and experienced. The job as a whole went very smoothly. Whenever we had concerns or questions, John listened and answered. One area of the deck was painted a different color that we were not expecting. Even though this caused a bit of delay, when we expressed the concern, John had his crew update it to match the rest of the deck quickly. We would definitely work with them again
Beau, his brother Aaron, and Charlie did a superb job in performing the work that we requested--they deserve an A+ for their workmanship, courtesy, attention to detail, and our needs. Be assured that I am not exaggerating because I have evaluated hundreds of individuals as a requirement of my job and they are tops in the field of reconstruction and home repair. They are efficient, do not waste time, and give the customer the best value for their dollar. They worked for us off and on according to our schedule over a two month period of time to complete the tasks we asked them to perform. We would definitely call them back if we have similar work to be performed. Courtesy, respect of the client and their wishes, and professionalism were their greatest attributes
David and his team went over and beyond my expectations! From the estimate to the finished project, I knew what to expect, when, and who would be doing the work. There were also several little things David fixed that others would've either overlooked or ignored. I appreciate his professionalism and attention to detail. I also don't know many who would stand outside during a thunderstorm to measure for a deck cover! I would hire him again without hesitation and recommend him to anyone who needs work done at their home
Mr. Marc responded to my phone inquiry about air vents mold remediation. He promptly came to inspect the property. Marc is very professional, knowledgeable and experienced. Upon a thorough assessment, he suggested ideal and alternative solutions. Mr. Marc is a professional with honesty and integery. He didn't push to make money out of the situation. His suggestions serve cient's interest rather than benefit his own business. This is very rare in today's commercial society. I highly recommend Green Star Eco Services
It went great. Jameson over at Patriot Fence was extremely attentive to all my needs and made sure to keep me updated at all times during the job. The workmanship was top notch and the finished product was well beyond expectations. He was always easy to get a hold of and even allowed me to add small side jobs along the way. I felt very comfortable working with Jameson from start to finish and would highly recommend Patriot Fence to anyone looking for a fence or deck contractor. Not too mention that the bid turned in by Patriot Fence was well below every other contractor I spoke with. I am very satisfied with my choice in Patriot Fence
In Austin, TX we have a south-facing, sun-intense, upstairs deck for which we wanted a covering. We found Hometown Decking among Angie's Lists, liked the reviews, and phoned for an estimate. The owner, Mike Koch, arrived on time on the given date, which for us was passing the first test. He from the outset was personable, professional and attentive to our objectives. As we walked the deck he confirmed his understanding of what we wanted, and made suggestions we had not thought of in specific areas. Among the specifics was that we wanted the covering to be painted (to match existing railing) rather than stained. He folded that into his planning and encouraged us to wait two to three months after the pergola was built so that moisture in the fresh-cut cedar would not be sealed in by the paint. This recommendation was noteworthy because he was actually saying that he would postpone income to a later date if it meant doing the job right. His proposal was received two days later, again, on time. We accepted and a date was scheduled to build. On build day, Mike and his two assistants, Chris and Brian, arrived on time pulling a clean white Cargo trailer with the company's name and logo painted on the front. From the beginning they kept the work area clean and graciously endured our pup. And in the course of one day, beautiful cedar posts and strips were transformed by polite and conscientious carpenters into a beautiful deck and privacy screen. At the end of the day, after the two assistants were gone and the sun was setting, there was only one guy on the deck. And that was Mike, the owner, with a broom, making a final inspection and sweeping up the last bits of sawdust. Which is the kind of thing you would expect from a local business with Hometown in its name. And from the kind of guy who supports an organization like "Water to Thrive"--a non-profit that builds water wells in rural Ethiopian villages that have never seen clean water in their existence--by contributing 5% of his profits and by, with his family, making personal visits to Ethiopian villages. For more information on Mike's involvement, see http://hometowndecking.com/give-back/
They were very responsive and meticulous. When painting the fences and staining the deck they made sure all other areas were covered and we received no overspray at all. Someone was at my house for two days straight over 8 hours a day and one day there were two gentleman there. I believe the gentleman's name who did the pressure washing and staining of the deck was named Ivan and he was especially careful. He took the time to hand stain any parts that were close to the house or suspended up high in the roof supports. He taped off a lot of areas like fan controls and a weather station I had to insure they would not get stain on them. He also did an excellent job cleaning my driveway. Finally Ivan hand painted the fence that came up close to the house to insure no paint was put on the house itself. I know lots of people will think 3500 is a lot of money for this kind of job, but the amount of labor involved is pretty incredible. They were on a very high extension ladder and even on my roof a few times to stain the upper parts of my deck cover. I have done this kind of work myself and have received quotes from other companies. For the time and effort and the amount of detail they put into the job, I feel my money was well spent. They even pulled all of the heavy objects off the deck and made the effort to come back a couple of days later after the stain was dry to put them back
