They just stopped by the house to see if they could sell services to me for driveway repair. I am usually leery of that sort of approach but they seemed honest and it was something I had planned on doing anyway. The work was well done and I will have them back out to finish the project. Since it was a cold-call they did not have enough material on the truck to complete the work. I thought the price was okay but had been quoted less from previous companies but who knows, maybe the others use inferior materials. What these guys do is not easy and I appreciate the results

ASPHALT REPAIR SERVICE
Agreed to seal coat after getting a cold called (left my gate open). The crew came by and sprayed seal coat over the driveway. I had to ask them to coat the edges of the driveway since they "didn't want to spray the grass". Coating was applied unevenly leaving spray "stroke marks" that became very apparent after six months. Now, two years later, the driveway is in great need of a complete reseal

WILLIAMS BROTHERS PAVING
My driveway has a flat section at the top and a steep narrow section going to the road. The flat part came out very well and is a big improvement. Aaron Williams was upfront about the possibility that the steep section would be difficult to work with. The chip seal did not take very well and the loose gravel is a problem. We ended up sweeping the loose gravel to the side in order not to slip when driving. It looks much better than it did but this was not the result we had hoped for. My driveway is 40 years old which is part of the problem

Bernie explained that all the small cracks in my driveway would be filled before coating was applied. I could see where something was sprayed over the cracks, but it did not come close to filling them. The coating was applied, but the "filler" took several days to dry and got tracked all over the place. The coating they used had a very noxious odor to it that lasted about a week. The coating is EXTREMELY slippery when it's wet. So, every time it rains, the driveway becomes very dangerous. Our car tires spin on it and we have to be very careful when walking not to slip and fall. I've left phone messages without a response

Contractors Asphalt could not have been more professional. The estimator came out, measured the driveway, then emailed his estimate. He called to let us know when the crew would be coming out. About eight guys showed up with cutters, rollers, asphalt, etc. In two hours, the driveway was completely finished and looks brand-new. They were careful to move plants and trees out of harm's way, completely cleaned up and left no debris anywhere. I wish every project could go this smoothly

Luke's Asphalt Paving
I contracted with Dallas Luke to pave my driveway in rural Blanco County. The estimate described the project as follows: "Blade, shape, and compact existing base material; prep street and concrete edges for asphalt installation; lay 2.5'' Hotmix asphalt and compact; and hand tamp all asphalt edges." The road and driveway length was approximately 700 ft. curving up the side of a hill with one switchback. The pavement was generally 10 ft. wide, with a flare at the entrance to meet the county road and a turn-around at the top before attaching to a two-car garage. The project required a day of prep, including one load of base fill, and 1 1/2 days of paving. The work was very professional, and was conducted by seven men: one operating the paving machine, two on graders and rollers, two tamping edges, one driving the hotmix truck, and one supervising. Dallas Luke, a third generation paving contractor with roots in Burnet County, now works out of Spring Branch. An affable man, he was very careful to avoid inclement weather which would have adversely affected the laying and curing of the asphalt. His preferred mode of communication is the cell phone--both voice and text, but he also responds to emails. I am very satisfied with the outcome

Keith has always done a tremendous job with my home. My new kitchen floors look great. The tiling was precisely measured and fitted so nothing looks out of order. Outside my bedroom window the wood was starting to rot and fall off. He replaced all the wood trim and repainted - it looked just like new. When my water heater blew it made a mess of my house. a quarter of my house was flooded, the ceiling collapsed and several walls were flooded. He dealt 100% with the insurance company. He then had 100% of the damage repaired, plus got me all new carpet for the entire house so that it would match the new replacement (my old carpet didn't exist anymore). He was able to match my paint exactly and replaced my ceiling light fixtures. A new water heater was installed to current code as well. You can't tell there was ever any damage. The work was done FAST too. He installed a thick radiant barrier in my attic which has had a noticeable impact in my electric bills. Right now I'm having him install two solar panel attic vents to complement the radiant barrier (and help conserve my 20+ year old AC system). I'm sure that will go just as well. I'm very pleased with the work he's done to date and gladly recommend him

The old asphalt was at least 25-30 years old, and was in terrible shape, with divits, and grass growing where there used to be asphalt. My experience with Dirk Van Landuyt, their estimator and project manager was great. He was thorough and responded to all my questions. Their price was the best and they gave me the most. They had impressive references and all said they had additional work scheduled with Alpha. They did an asphalt overlay and the finished product was more than my expectations.
