Repair My Appliance Austin

I scheduled an appointment and Jacob called promptly at the beginning of the scheduled window of time to tell me he was on the way. He diagnosed the problem immediately and worked quickly and efficiently to get the machine running again. He also agreed to hook up new hoses I had bought previously for no extra charge. He was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional. I would definitely hire again and also recommend to others. Great experience all around.

I watched initial troubleshoot, and he couldn't put the washer into test mode to get an error code. He manually troubleshooted and claimed we needed to replace a $300 control board. He replaced and left, claiming it was fixed. You can't really tell until it runs through the entire washing cycle, which would have taken a while. When we figured out it didn't work, I got into the diagnostics and found the error code pointing to a $60 water valve. I paid him $470 in parts (I found the $300 part for $200 online), install, and service call, and it wasn't fixed. I asked him to bring my original part back with a receipt for the part so that I could possibly return and recoup some of what I paid. I came home early from work to meet him at 3:00. At 5:45, I texted and he responded from Georgetown. We agreed on the next morning. I stayed home from work until noon, and he was a no-show. In entering this, Angie's matched this to "Appliances and More" with the same phone number but a different address than he has on his website. If this is in error, I'm sorry. His card says 786 Appliances and More, and the address on his website is "9010 N. Interstate, Austin TX". If he meant "I35", he messed that up. I did drive by 9010 I35, and there is no company there by that name.

Based on my description of what was happening, our failing washing machine's error message and his experience with that make of washing machine Mr. Gilbert was able to give me his assessment of what was likely to need to be repaired and how much it would cost to do that repair. I really appreciate the assistance he gave me in determining whether it made sense to repair a washing machine that had this big a failure when it was not all that old.

As I suspected the washing machine was not worth repairing. The tech evaluated the problem quickly, gave me a quote and agreed with my conclusion that I should not repair it. He was very nice and there was no pressure at all to do the repair ($420 to repair a 11 year old machine).

Guy came out when our washer stopped working. He quickly determined there was an obstruction in the drain. The fix took less than thirty minutes. We decided to have him check our dryer while he was out -- it was taking longer and longer to dry. Again he found the issue, had the part on his truck, and fixed it immediately. We really appreciate his responsiveness and great work!

Lopez Appliance Service
5.0
We had an awesome experience with Lopez Appliance Service. We called several places early that morning and could get anyone to take the service call. When we spoke to Lopez, they took our information and later that day the gentleman called us back. He's a one man operation so he had been out on calls all day. When he called he said he was on his way to another place and wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too late if he came back after. We agreed and he showed up about 6:30 that evening. He was so nice to come at that time in the evening but he did a great job. Only there about 30 minutes, changed a switch and boom, everything worked! We were so thankful for Mr. Lopez and the time he took to make sure we were taken care of. We will certainly use him again and recommend him to any of our friends that might need help!

Recent Review: Like other members, I purchased an extended warranty from Lowe’s and the work was contracted out to Appliance Science. They have now missed 3 appointments between October 31 - December 31, 2018, and on only one of these appointments did they actually call to let me know they couldn’t make it. They also do no follow-up after missing an appointment. Instead you have to chase them down to reschedule. Extremely unprofessional. If you can avoid this company, you should. Calling Lowe’s call center has provided little to no assistance. They clearly have no back-up plans. I’ve wasted far too much time and impacted my own business by waiting for these people to show up, and hoping the same doesn’t happen to you.

Recent Review: Did not even examine washer just stated because of age of machine and a general description of problem that it needed new transmission and would be cheaper to buy a new one. Had to order bulb for microwave. A difficult time removing micro a week later when bulb came in, it's part of a built in unit. Asked if I got new washer yet and was told someone else came out, changes belts and tightened up a couple of things and it was working great again, he then scoffed and rolled his eyes and made little joke with helper. Did not reattach exhaust vent correctly and had to come back to reattach. I told them NOT to send the same man again but that was disregarded and he came. The man I talked with to do the rescheduling was rude and uncaring. The timer for the cleaning cycle which worked before the unit was disassembled no longer works but I will not have them back in my house ever for anything even though the salesman that sold me my dishwasher 6 months ago was very nice.

Recent Review: He arrived to fix the microwave that was running but not heating food. He explained the process as he worked on the microwave, including the list of potential problems and approximate costs. It turned out that the broken part was the most expensive scenario and he provided an estimate and discussed the option of fixing vs. purchasing a new unit. We opted for the repair which he did on site, having the needed part in his van. I asked him if he had time to look at our washing machine that wasn't filling properly and he agreed. Again he discussed possibly problems and quickly identified the issue. He fixed this on site, again having the needed part in his van. I was very pleased with his service, knowledge, professionalism and prices.
