Jeff is excellent and his work is of high quality. He takes his time to properly assess and diagnose the situation. We had him come in for a bathroom remodel and he did everything we asked without a hitch. He even referred us to another service to install a fiberglass shower pan and they were just as professional. I'm glad to have found my plumber for any upcoming projects

Austin Kitchen & Bath
5.0
We decided to sell our house but needed to fix the master shower bath before we put the house on market. Our Realtor recommended Rent-A-Man Austin Kitchen and Bath. Our house was over 30 years old and we had done extensive remodeling over the years so we were very familiar with working with contractors. We called three contractors to bid on our shower remodel. Rick (owner of) Austin Kitchen and Bath was very responsive answering the phone on the first try and coming out to inspect job immediately. Another contractor finally got back to me two weeks after I called, which was too late, the other contractor had me send him pictures and made a bid over the phone without seeing the job in person. Austin Kitchen and Bath bid was competitively priced and they were able to start work immediately. Rick came out, inspected the work to be done, took lots of pictures, then sent us the bid via email the next day. His bid contained detailed line items for all the work to be done and contained one amount. He asked for half of the amount up front and the rest paid when work was completed. Rick is one of the only contractors we have worked with who's bid amount did not change in the end. In the end, we paid exactly what the original bid estimated. We have done three other jobs with Rick since our bath remodel and it's always the same, the bid is the final amount you pay. In one case, we added some work half way through the job, but Rick created us a separate bid for that work. Ricks crew showed up at 8am on time everyday Monday-Friday and worked till about 4:30 or 5pm. They installed a dropbox outside, so our house key never left the site. His crew never bothered us if we were home during the day and kept the work area extremely clean after each day. On several occasions I saw Rick stop by in the morning to inspect job/meet with the crew and also during the evening before they left. It took just over a week to complete the shower and it looked/worked perfectly! We sold the house 1 day after putting it on the market! The shower even has a square drain which you don't find around here (and we have looked at alot of homes since we just moved). The floor shower tiles feels like felt when you stand on it when it's wet. Rick did the entire design on his own, picking tile color, style, patterns. My wife was very pleased with Rick because she didn't have to do anything or get after anybody, like other contractors. The work just got done, quickly and quietly and Rick made sure anything that looked or felt odd got corrected before we saw it. I was very pleased because Rick was so responsive. He answers his cell phone all the time anytime, and when u pay someone this much money, it's good to know they are still there. Good job Austin Kitchen and Bath

Chris arrived promptly at 9am and began work right away. The job was estimated to take 4 hours and that was exactly how long it took him. The tub and shower enclosure looked brand new when he finished. He also provided information on the proper care and cleaning of the enclosure to keep it looking its best

Rubber Duck Refinishing

Rubber Duck Refinishing (RDR) refinished a cultured marble double-sink bathroom countertop that was starting to yellow. RDR did an amazing job, and the result is beautiful! We also asked them to repair a crack in a fiberglass hottub while they were onsite, which they were happy to accommodate and did a great job with. RDR was professional, timely, and friendly. We will definitely hire them again for future refinishing work

After receiving Juan's estimate on 1/28/2016, we researched and received several other estimates. We filed a claim with the insurance company which they rejected since it was not a busted pipe but a shower pan leak. Once we had the insurance position and no help from the previous owners to help pay the cost, we proceeded with another contractor who came highly recommended by a prominent plumbing company here in the Austin area. After all, why would we want to reward Fox Remodeling by giving them the contract on a job they messed up to begin with. On Monday May 30th the contractor we hired began demolition of the shower area. We quickly discovered there was no fiberglass shower pan installed at all "DID NOT EXIST" so the pan did not wear out in a few years -- it was never installed!!! All Fox Remodeling had done is slope the fill to the drain, apply some Red Guard liquid membrane on the concrete and use cheap builders acrylic white caulk at the joints. We discovered rotted 2X4 wall sills, wall studs in the shower and even outside the shower with damage to sheet rock and insulation. I have sent Juan an e-mail asking if he would like to see the conditions before we start repairs next week and I have no response. Yesterday, I e-mailed the photos to him showing all the damage, the white caulk and the minimal Red Guard and I have no response. We are willing to settle for payment of his estimated cost at this time and he has been told that previously with no response. Inaddition to all the e-mails we submitted a message through his web site and we received a note stating "Your form message has been successfully sent" and no response. If we have not been compensated as noted above prior to the completion of the work next week (June 11+/-) then we will expect payment for whatever the total may be by the various contractors we have had to hire to complete the work as well as the disruption of daily life, stress and other undetermined costs at this tim

Very good! Made our shower look clean, fresh and new. Andrew was very punctual and professional. Knows what he is doing. Gave us a free at home estimate. Showed up on time, was easy to work with, and delivered a good service. Provided useful tips and information. Great guy doing great work. I've had my share of bad experiences with contractors & repair people in Austin. This is one I can say that I definitely recommend. We plan to use him again soon for another bath project

Watermark & Company

We had an excellent experience with Watermark and are planning to use them again for additional projects. Mike and his team were very professional at all times. All workers arrived on time and did the work very quickly. The shower tile ended up looking exactly like the picture we showed him, with some intricate mosaic travertine tile work around the upper middle of the shower and 2x2 travertine tiles on the floor. We were extremely pleased with the custom cabinets they built to our specs. Our only concern was that the stain applied to the maple cabinets did not turn out exactly as we expected(not realizing that maple doesn't stain all that well). We wish we had known that ahead of time, but overall we are very pleased with the end result

ALL BATH & COUNTER RESURFACING
5.0
My trade is a facilities manager and over the years have worked with all sorts of contractors. It is indeed difficult to find people who show up on time, do what they say they will do, finish when they say they would and make their work good at the price stated without change orders. In my experience for both parties to be successful, its all about setting expectations that are mutually understood up front. I typically take reviews with a grain of salt until I have thoroughly vetted, called peoples "positive" references to understand what is not being said, and I realize that contractors do not enjoy success in all jobs and their customers may have unrealistic expectations and an axe to grind too, if they felt something was not done to absolute perfection. Having said all that, I followed this same process with this company and I was quite pleased with the outcome. For example when, I offered prior to starting the job that a concern was expressed over being at the site at a certain time, the owner stated I will be there at the time we set. And in fact he over delivered a little bit, coming early. We also discussed what we do, in case a surprise comes up, which I do with every contractor,, because I have never run across a good surprise. The job I had was quite a difficult one, the fiberglass shower floor was cracked in several places, nearly to the point of falling through. I had several contractors come out and explain their various technical approaches. The reason I liked Steve Williams is that he gave it to me straight, some of the things that were proposed by other contractors as a solution simply would not work, and he showed me why. The price he quoted was actually about 10 to 20 percent higher than others, but I trusted his professional judgment and also knowing that he was retained by some large public institutions in town to do their work on a continual basis. We struck an agreement, he sent his crew out, very polite young men, just absolutely amenable to work with and they did their technique as far as filling underneath the shower, and then they put a new fiberglass overlayment followed by a special paint. It looked absolutely as good as new. The only problem that developed was the caulk used prior to painting did not adhere and dry to my marble base. No problem, Steve cheerfully sent out one of his crew who ripped out the caulk around the shower floor baseboard and redid it with the caulk of my preference. I think that cost him an extra half a day and a couple more tubes of caulk. I have not had a problem since on the floor, save a slight paint flick nick on the floor, possibly something dropped their after they did the job. I wish I had done this job sooner, the shower is no longer an eyesore. Here it is, nearly a year later and the shower is one less problem for us to worry about, given the right technical solution offered by a professional other than doing a complete shower remodel. My feeling is that if you want a good job, interview several contractors, find out who has the most work and talk to some of their prior customers if they don't mind divulging the info. There is always a reason why. My experience is just one data point but I would like to point out that they did what they said they would do, and that's enough for my book. If I have more work in this area, I will call them

Handyman Connection of Austin-Westlake

Contacted office to arrange appointment for estimate. Office was very prompt, courteous, and professional. Appointment was within a few days of calling. Met with Louis, who arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He emailed an estimate a couple of day later that met our expectations for cost and scope. We ordered the door from Lowe's (changing from wood to fiberglass, to avoid warping and constant refinishing) and waited the three weeks for delivery. Once the door arrived, we contacted Louis and set a time for the installation a few days later (pretty quickly, considering his workload), Louis arrived on schedule, began work immediately, and had the door installed by the end of the day. He returned the second day to paint, caulk, and generally tidy up. Louis did highly skillful and professional work, was very pleasant to be around, and respected our property. We love our new door (it finally closes tightly, keeps drafts out, and looks great), We will undoubtedly use Handyman Connection for future projects

Round Rock Restoration

Jerry was on site for every step of the renovation which included wallpaper removal, tear out of the porcelain tub and tile, counter top, mirror and lighting. He did much of the carpentry work himself and provided excellent subcontractors for all of the plumbing, drywall, fiberglass, electrical, countertop, tile and glass work and painting. He has remodeled many bathrooms and knew every step and sequence of tasks necessary to get the job done. When he or his subcontractors saw problems, he didn't ignore them - including a toilet flange that had long been broken and an inoperable septic pump., He had the flange repaired and suggested we replace the pump, which we did. It took three weeks and the bath is beautiful and functional. He put in grab bars to make the bath safe, and installed the recessed medicine cabinet and framed the shower which is now wider than the original tub. All in all the bath is much safer to use as well as aesthetically pleasing

This is the second job we've had Ed do for us. He is simply fabulous. He takes great pride in his work and he does a phenomenal job. You may pay a bit more for Ed (but reasonable) but he is well worth it. He does a job like he's doing it in his own hose. His attention to detail is superb and welcome, as it is lacking in many other firms

Pet Independence

On the first visit, Steven inspected and measured the house's back door and also measured my dog. He also went over options and pricing for replacement doors and for pet doors. I had already done some research online and realized that the price he offered was better than other places I looked. Afterwards, Steven emailed me a written quote for a steel door, which allowed me to save some money over the fiberglass doors he normally installs. I paid for half of the total amount he quoted so that the door could be ordered. The door arrived in about 3 weeks and came just as we requested it, with a pet door installed at just the right height for our dog. AD, the handyman that Steven assigned to do the work, installed it in about an hour. He even helped us put the original door away in the attic. Unfortunately, I forgot to remind AD to transfer the magnet (from the house security system) from the old door to the new door. He returned a few days later to finish the work at no extra cost to me. In summary, I am very pleased with the door materials, the professionalism of the work and the easy payment process through PayPal. My dog now has more freedom and we got a good quality pet door that will last. Well worth the money

Steve came out to do the estimate. Since our shower floor tile was cracking and loose, we were extremely worried that water was leaking out from the shower. Steve provided a detailed estimate on what might need to be repaired, possible new shower pan and replacing wall tile around the floor. He was very accommodating to scheduling the time of repair. We had to cancel our first schedule as our baby was due a week earlier than expected. Steve came out a month later and completed the work as scheduled. He described in detail how he was going to do the work. Part way through the work, Steve let us know that there was no water leakage and that our shower pan was in excellent condition. He explained that we had a fiberglass mesh pan and it is extremely durable. This lessened the amount of work required to repair the tile and Steve was extremely fair in re-negotiating our amount due to less work that was required, i.e. no wall tile repair needed. When our cove base was repaired, I noticed that the tile was somewhat protruding and was sloped toward the outside of the shower, when it should be sloped toward the shower drain. Steve's apprentice was working on the cove base at the time, and Steve had no issues with removing all the tile and redoing the cove base correctly, himself. At the end, Steve was very communicative and did a great job addressing all our concerns. And to top it all off, Steve guaranteed his workmanship for life
These people are great. They provided a competitive bid which we reviewed to three other companies and accepted. They explained how they would do the work and why they made the recommendations that they had made. They communicated with us between bid acceptance and job day to let us know their progress. They arrived on time. Their truck and tools were clean and organized. They prepped our home with plastic sheeting and tarps to collect any debris that may have fallen. They removed all of the sheeting, tarps etc and took it with them. They completed the task in less time then expected yet provided a greater r factor insulation (deeper fill) than the bid required. Very polite, respectful people. We've already recommended them to two friends! My wife and I are looking forward to this summer and the change this will make in our comfort and electric bills! Highly recommend them
Frank did a great job putting in the Fiberglas showerpan. He is an expert at what he does and has been doing it for 25 years. Anyone who knows, Fiberglas is tricky to work with. It's much better than a rubber liner, but because Frank is less expensive than most companies, it was only slightly more. Also, since we were building a walk-in shower with bench, there was a lot to cover. Frank not only did a great job with the pan, he also offered to correct some of my do-it-yourself carpentry mistakes. Without us prompting, he asked if we'd like an alcove built to put our shampoo, etc. Of course we said yes, and he provided the work, the carpentry work, and waterproofed it with more Fiberglas ... All for $25!!! He was pleasant to work with, showed up on time and was below his initial estimate
