AMERICAN PLUMBING & HEATING CO

My house is currently on the market and one morning when I went to do some standard cleaning I noticed that water was leaking from the base of tank when it was flushed. Frantic I called Felix and he was out within the hour. He rearranged his day to make time to come out, determine what the issue was and then fix it. Whew! Was very pleased with his responsiveness. His plumbing license number is M329 which tells me he's been in business a long time and knows his stuff. I will definitely use him for my future plumbing needs.

Company called me for details and asked that I send pictures of toilet. I sent pictures as instructed. He was going to check with the company of the toilet and see if he could get just the lid or get a new tank. He said he would call me on Monday. It's been two days and still no call. If he was really interested in the job he would call with an update. I now have a recommendation from a friend and they are sending out someone on the same day we called. That's service.

BJ was the technician and we were very impressed by his professionalism and his pride in his work. He responded very well to all our questions and the "twists" that came about. We had one "twist" where the toilet tank was 30 years old and the replacement tank we purchased (we provided almost all of the parts...I had planned to do the work) was the new "green" low capacity . He was very creative and installed the "green" tank with a new float valve to offset the water level. The wife and I tested it out and no problems with the water capacity!

There were several problems with this order, including tanks damaged during shipment, and then incorrect parts on the replacement tanks (their warehouse sent the more common single-flush version), and then a bowl defect that required yet another replacement. So my project was delayed and I ended up reinstalling toilets a few times, however, my salesperson Ashleen remained professional, courteous, and helpful until we got it all worked out. Remodeling projects would be much less stressful if there were more sales associates like her.

Late, unprofessional and dishonest. I normally don't like posting financial details but am doing so below to save you the headache of dealing with this company. There are plenty of great tradesmen in Austin. Please look else-ware. DETAIL BELOW: I booked a water heater install bid through Home Depot 2 weeks in advance for a 10am to 2pm arrival time slot. Despite the wide window, service provider didn't arrive until 6pm. Shortly after arriving, gentlemen complained about responding to the late call and that he'd rather be at home with his family. My response, "yeah, me too". Labor bid on a tankless install was ~$3,200 plus ~$2,200 for an 11 GPM higher end model (so mid $5k all-in). This was a simple garage install job on an exterior wall. No attic work. No rerunning lines across a home. A master plumber or experienced journeymen should be able to handle the job in 8 to 10 hours, which gives me a ~$300 hourly labor rate quote. ARS should get an overhead charge, profit margin, plus $100 to $120 hourly. Bidding ~$300/hr on the job was just ARS trying to opportunistically fleece the large number of people who must click the home depot 'install' button. When i asked the master plumber about the job, he figured 10 hours. When i asked him about the $300 hourly, he first defended it saying "we don't think labor in terms of job hours" (wrong). He then said this is how they're bidding these days because this is what they can get away with. Well, at-least that's honest.

I ordered a toilet with a 1.6 gallon pressure-assisted flush system: the tank portion of the toilet. The tank was delivered in a shipping carton that was labeled with the correct part number, so I accepted it in good faith. Only after the toilet was installed and failed to perform properly did I discover that I had received a tank with a flush capacity of 1.1 gallons vice 1.6 gallons. I asked Austin Plumbing Supply to replace the 1.1 gallon tank with a 1.6 gallon tank; Austin Plumbing Supply denied my request. I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Austin Plumbing Supply's response to the BBB included inaccurate statements about my order and the history of my dealings with the company. Nevertheless, Austin Plumbing Supply subsequently delivered a 1.6 gallon tank, at no charge to me. I am glad to report that the replacement tank performs well. It is unfortunate, however, that I had to complain to the BBB before Austin Plumbing Supply would take appropriate action.

Found out about this company through Angie's List and took advantage of a deal offered to members. I purchased a truckload of junk to be removed from my house and contacted the company immediately thereafter to schedule the appointment. They contacted us to confirm the appointment the day before. They also called that morning to let us know about when they would come within the scheduled timeframe. Jeff and Mike came on time and my husband showed them everything that was "junk" and what we wanted to donate. They were very efficient and professional. The job was performed in less than two hours. My husband was impressed with how they were able to get everything up our basement stairs so easily. We were very happy with the services that were performed and would definitely use them again in the future.

They did this a couple months ago. It was less expensive than others that I got quoted; it was about $25.00 less.

Company showed up to do the estimate and ready to do the install. We agreed to a price that was a little higher than expected and the two installers got started. One to get a new water heater and the other stayed in a hot attic drained the old tank and disassembled the tank. I have a tank in the attic and it was not easy getting the old or new tank up there. They were done in about 4 hours and the hot water heater works great! Dependable employees and company.

Recent Review: I have used Neighborhood Plumbing for my rental business over 10 times the last few years. They show up on time and do quality work. I use them for my hard to do problems like a water leak to the house under the drive. No visible wet spot was detected. They were able to pin point the leak with there equipment and dig in from the side of the driveway which out causing much damage.

Recent Review: We have a maintenance contract where they come out four times a year and check our system. They were very professional and did a good job checking our system. The guy even used our hose to spray the tank off and I would have never known if I didn't see him roll up our hose and put it away. They do let us know when it is time to pump our septic tank out.
