They did a good job on replacing the weather stripping around the doors that led to the outside. I had to provide the weather stripping, but I knew that was part of the deal that I purchased.

I was called shortly after I purchased the deal and had sent an email asking if the company could come out last week before my family arrived. I described the items that needed repair, and asked if they could call me with a list of items to purchase to perform the repair. They said sure, that the handyman assigned to the job would call the day before. So far, so good. I did not get a call, and went to Home Depot the night before to buy what I thought they would need. At the scheduled time for the appointment., a truck drove up, then turned around in front of my house and left. It re-appeared 30-60 minutes later and asked if this was the address that I had given them. The bushes were trimmed too high by the previous owner and it is a bit difficult to see the address, but I didn't really understand the leaving the first time. Before showing the 2 handymen who came what needed to be done, they explained that they would walk through the job, then leave to purchase the items they needed for the repair. I explained about the phone call request, and they said that they had not been given the message to call me. That suggests to me that they generally spend part of their 2 hour deal running to the store for items, with no work done in the meantime. One of the 2 handymen explained that I probably didn't need weather-stripping on my door, but just to raise the copper stripping to fill the air spaces I was seeing. Then, one handyman left to go to Home Depot and the other stayed to start on the repairs with the items I had purchased. For the ceiling drywall repair that had already been started (taped and drywall compound applied), he sanded the spot and applied orange peel finish, checking with me to ensure that I liked how it looked. I was pretty happy with both the repair and checking to make sure I liked it, as well as the explanation about the weather-stripping. The job went downhill from there. The handyman who went to Home Depot returned with plastic sheeting to protect the areas he was working on, a 2X4 to fill in the gap in the wall to apply drywall to, and a big box of wood screws to mount the 2X4 to the studs, of which he only needed a few. What really bothered me about the purchases is that I have hundreds of wood screws in all sizes in my garage, as well as 2 expensive dropcloths I had purchased for painting. i didn't like having to pay for these extra materials, and that they didn't even ask me whether I had them. The handyman working on the hole in the wall asked if I had a hairdryer to speed up the drywall compound drying, so I went into the bathroom to get it. When I looked at the job he had done, I was upset, as he had filled in the hole in the wall with 1/2" drywall when the rest of the wall was 5/8". That meant that he put a lot of compound on top to even it out, and all at the same time. In my experience, you get a lot of cracks in the finished wall when you stick all that compound in one place at the same time, without layering it and letting it dry between layers. I asked him why he did that, and he said that the drywall I gave him was 1/2". True, but I had a sheet of 5/8" in the garage, which was used for the ceiling repair. Again, he didn't ask. I asked him to remove it and put the right drywall on, he called his boss, who then called me and told me I would have to pay for the extra time. When I protested that what they had done was not a quality job, he disagreed, so I told him to just take out the bad patch and leave. I will do my own repairs in the future, even if it means they have to wait until I have the time

I called done.com to get a simple weather stripping job done for a regular sized door in my home in NW Minnesota. The first appointment no one showed or called. When I called the guy who sets up the appointments in my area he already knew the guy wasn't coming because he was “stuck working on another job”. We set up a next day appointment and the guy was late cause “he was pulled over by the cops”. He did the job, but one side of the stripping did not cover the door! So, air was still leaking into my home. I tried 3 more times to get this guy to come back and fix it and I got excuses like “I'm sick” or “my car is shot”. The last time he didn't even call when he failed to show up. The next day he told me he “was in jail last night.” The company sent out another guy who couldn't fix the door after 2 visits and eventually started giving me the run around as well. At this moment my door is still not fixed. Remember, this was supposed to be a SIMPLE WEATHER STRIPPING JOB. Turns out done.com hires out random people in the area to do these jobs and who knows if they are actually qualified to do the job

I purchased the $99 deal for three hours of door maintenance. The service was scheduled, and I was advised to have the needed materials, which included new weather stripping and locks, available for the appointment. I purchased the weather stripping and two locks, and Rick was prompt and very professional. He showed me where one of my French doors was in poor repair and recommended I purchase a new set of doors. He gave me a list of all the materials he will need to install the French door, which was retrofitted from a sliding glass door, and I will definitely have OnCall Home Services replace that door as well as a screen door on my porch that needs to be replaced. Beau has already provided the estimate, and I will be ordering the new doors in the next two weeks. I definitely want Rick to return to perform the work

Our home had energy efficiency "issues" that were outlined in a recent audit, so we opted for insulation and HVAC duct work. Strand Bros gave us a clear estimate, and explained how the rebate program is set up. The two technicians who actually did the work were professional. I had a number of questions while they were here, and they answered each of them. Overall, competently done

Mike arrived and assessed the issue with the front door and told us he could accomplish our goal with much less work and expense. Since we had anticipated a much bigger job and he'd traveled out to Lago Vista with a minimum service fee, he agreed to instal a new faucet we were looking for a plumber to do! Both jobs finished in less than two hours and perfectly cleaned up each area before preparing the invoice! We will absolutely use this provider in the future

It went okay.. Handyman didn't seem very enthusiastic to do anything. I had to leave and go to Lowes because I had the incorrect weatherstripping for the garage door. After 40 minutes came back and they didn't carry it. Handyman sat in the car while i was gone. I have hired other handymen and they have really good and fast and helpful

I had called several other handyman companies and he was the most honest about his billing practices. His bills are in accordance with the job performed. It had only taken about an hour and a half for him to finish the job. He had done a neat job and I was very pleased. He had told me that he was well trained and told me about all the other things that he could do. I feel he can do almost any kind of handyman work, and I would definitely use him again. He was very friendly, and I felt really safe having him in my home

Greg was very punctual, polite and professional. He did a very nice job on my kitchen faucet. Afterwards, he tried very hard to fix a problem created when I installed the door lock myself. Even though the problem couldn't be fixed, I really appreciate his patience. He was very personable, answered many general questions about AC maintenance, weather stripping, etc. I would definitely try to get Greg again whenever I need handyman service

Very well. They actually performed the service while we were out of town and had house sitters, but it all went well. They came back to do the energy audit testing, and performed some additional duct sealing when the original efficiency goals weren't yet met. They worked with us to get our city, utility, and tax rebates. Very nice and professional technicians. Went the extra mile to be sure we were satisfied. They also gave us advice on the air conditioner that another company had installed. Basically told us we had been oversold a bigger air conditioner than necessary. We were glad to learn this. Would definitely use again

The project went off perfectly. It was scheduled in two separate events. Each time, people showed up exactly on time and worked without incident. The gentlemen who came back with Austin Energy to inspect the projects were most pleasant and easy to talk with. Their careful outline of the various rebates we were entitled to were most helpful

I was very reluctant to have somebody out for such a simple and relatively minor problem but my front door was very hard to open and my door to the garage was very gappy and difficult to open and close also. Marty Allen was the technician who came out and he was very quick and thorough. He determined that with the front door I really needed to have the lockset replaced as it was very worn, but in the meantime he adjusted the way the door was hung well enough that it works quite satisfactorily and I can live with that until I can select a whole new locking mechanism for it. When I do, I will definitely be calling them for an install. He did that so quickly that I used the remainder of my hour of service to have him take a look at the door to my garage. He determined that the doorframe was actually installed at an angle making a perfect fix impossible but he adjusted the hinges enough and installed weather stripping at a different angle sufficiently to make the function of the door much better and something closer to a good seal without gaps at the top

It went very well overall. The door frame was never properly installed and I've had open space due to the door not seating properly. The technician arrived on time. I call Richard a technician rather than "repairman" because he truly is a door technician... he really understands them. He fixed the lock and door latch perfectly. When he finished the weather stripping it was much better but not completely resolved. I called him the next morning and he came back within the hour of my call. The weather stripping simply would not seat properly at the lower right corner. Richard took some heavy folder material and cut out several shims for the two lowest hinges. After they were installed, the door closed perfectly .... not even light was coming through any part of the door. It was art, I swear to it. Additionally, I had some trim on the chimney box outside that had rotted and I had a leak that was allowing water to drip inside the fireplace inside the house. This project was separate from the door issue so he quoted a fair price, installed the new trim, calked it and it is perfect. He also noticed that the top of the original trim piece was causing a shingle to buckle. So, he worked that, got the shingle settled and did some caulking on that. To my surprise, it resolved the leak on the inside of the fireplace. Richard has a great demeanor, professional at all times but great attitude. I would recommend him as one of the top contractors I've ever met. Very well done
Travis was professional and detailed in the inspection of my home build. He is very personable as well. If you are looking for an inspector, I highly recommend Greenworks, Rep, Clayton “Travis” Ivins.
Fox Granite was fantastic to work with! Greg Fox visited our home with granite samples, took measurements, and provided estimate. One week later, his brother Stan emailed us to schedule installation appointment. The following week, we had beautiful new granite countertops installed; Professional & efficient workmen (Jesse = crew chief) were done in about 2 hours. I would definitely use them again for a project
Grant was terrific! Not only was everything finished on time and under budget but he also took care of the little unexpected things that were not part of the contract, like taking the trash out, power washing the garage and most importantly, calling to remind me that we left our daughter's growth chart on the wall when we moved out and that he would save it for me. LIttle things like that show how much Grant cares about his clients. I am very fortunate to have found him and without a shadow of a doubt will call him again for any other handyman or remodeling services in the future
We live in an older home (with asbestos siding in the front and no insulation in the walls or floor), so we were wasting a lot of energy on heat and air. Our options were to pull off the siding, insulate, and replace the siding (with HardiPlank) or use Green Energy to spray insulation into the walls and under the house. After speaking with Kyle (Ashley - the owner) we decided on Green Energy. They were able to schedule us quickly, and they were very courteous about calling before they came, and cleaning up after themselves (which I have found most contractors not to do very well). The job is messy, but they cleaned up as much as possible. We didn't remove any furniture, but they made sure to cover everything up and move it away from the walls and complete the job. I was really impressed because Kyle showed up each time and made sure the work was done to his standards. They did a great job, and we are spending less on energy and also don't get as much outside noise. I would use them again and I highly recommend Green Energy Service
Excellent!! Red is professional and extremely talented. He’s a very fast worker and deeply thorough and precise. I couldn’t be happier with the difficult repairs he’s made to my house!
The job went smoothly. House Doctors was quick to assign a handyman. The handyman was professional, quick, and efficient. The charge was more than reasonable. You can't go wrong calling these folks!
Robert built a wonderful new addition for me from scratch. He coordinated the subcontractors and also did a lot of the work himself. He is very skilled/talented and can do many things very well: framing, tiling, window installation, painting, laying carpet, deck building, etc. I have used him many times since to do a variety of projects at my house. I have always been happy with the results and trust him completely!! I highly recommend his work
Ken helped me with several installations in my guest house, which was just a wooden shed when he first started. He installed new insulation and drywall, flooring, kitchenette and painted the interior and exterior. He was always on time, got things done in a timely manner and was able to resolve any issues we ran into along the way. I will definitely hire him again for any handyman work in the future
We had some small home repairs that were beyond our expertise. Checked Angies List and found A-plus Energy Management. What a treasure! Chris arrived on time (maybe a bit early!) , got right to work, had all the necessary tools to complete our projects. Chris is professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgable. Also, the customer service staff were extremely helpful in helping me find the right materials for the job. Thanks to Debbie and Katy! I don't know if you can request a particular person but if you can, ask for Chris. Use A-Plus - you won't be disappointed. (We'll definitely use their services in the future.

I contracted with Expert Service through an Angie's List Big Deal: $75 for 2 hours of handyman work. After confirming with Paul by phone that the jobs I had in mind could be done by his workers, I settled on 3 possible jobs: hanging a pot rack from the ceiling in my kitchen, replacing a light fixture in my breakfast room, and sealing a gap at the bottom of my front door where daylight and air came through spaces of about 1/2" on either side of the opening. When the worker, Rocky, arrived, he quickly installed the pot rack, and it has served well since he put it up. Then he turned to the front door; in hindsight, I wish now that I had chosen to have him replace the light fixture instead, but he showed no apprehension at tackling the problem with the door. He easily replaced a rubber gasket in the threshold, which helped but did not completely seal the opening around the door. Weather stripping in the door frame was in poor shape, but Rocky decided he could make it work by bending it to better fit the opening; this helped but still didn't completely fill the gap. Rocky then realized that the door latch didn't completely engage, allowing the door to blow open unless locked after being shut; thinking this might be the reason the weather stripping also didn't seal the opening well, he worked on the latch to make it engage better. After fixing the latch, though, he still hadn't solved the main problem. He worked diligently to seal the gaps on either side of the door, and he did reduce the size of them, but just seemed to have bitten off more than he could chew with this task; perhaps the weather stripping around the whole door just needs to be replaced, or I may need a larger kickplate (the one on the door now doesn't reach all the way to the edges of the door, coming up about an inch short on each side). I give him an "A" for effort, but I think he should have assessed the job a little better before diving into it without a clear plan for solving the problem. I am pleased with the work done on my pot rack; it is perfectly level, and appears to be holding the weight of my 8 substantial (All-Clad) pans with no damage to the ceiling. But given that the other part of the job didn't really go as hoped, it seems I paid $75 for the pot rack installation alone. I would use Expert Services again, but would make sure to clearly define all aspects of the job before allowing the work to begin

What do customers in Austin say about Install Weather Stripping?
It took four or five hours to rehang and seal an interior door to the garage that had been improperly hung and had been cut too short by a previous contractor. He had to buy paint and a threshold to take up the space at the bottom of the door. He did an excellent job and took pride in his work. I was glad I found him and will have him back again.
