Instant Repair Service

After two suppliers couldn't fix my storm door, I contacted Ralph Nugent, Instant Repair Service, to install a new storm door. I ordered the door, which he picked up. However, after seeing my present storm door, he said he could fix it and he wouldn't feel right installing a door I didn't need. He fixed the door within an hour and returned the new door to the retail establishment for a credit to my account. His $100 fee was a fraction of what I would have paid for the new door. The new door alone cost $215, not including installation. Ralph said the installation fee would have been at least $200. Ralph is knowledgeable and honest, an unbeatable combination. I highly recommend him.

Aeromass Glass

Trent Hankins, the owner, was highly recommended so I called his company, Aeromass Glass, and talked with him about repairing a glass panel in one of our storm doors, The door is all glass with a sliding top panel that can be pulled down while, at the same time, a screen panel slides down to take its place. He was very familiar with problems related to this type of door and explained how much it would cost based on what he had to do. His company is located in Cedar Park and I live in south Austin but, when I told him where I lived, he said he was on his way to south Austin anyway and would be at my house within 30 minutes. Trent was very punctual, professional and also friendly, and showed me what was wrong with the panel, which he explained was a common problem with this type of door. He spent about 10 minutes realigning the glass panel and then told me there would be no charge. I was stunned and told him I wanted to pay for his time but he said he was driving south very near my house anyway and the realignment took only a few minutes. What a wonderful surprise. Based on this experience I would definitely use this company again because I know Trent is honest and his prices would be fair.

They answered our questions in the showroom about the doors they had on display, they took our order and a contractor picked them up and installed them. Two of the three doors were excellent, we thought we were ordering three of the same doors but one was slightly different and had issues. We had to have our contractor work out the issues, but the other two were just fine. I wasn't involved in rectifying the issue with the door.

The service went well. They put in a pet door for the garage and adjusted the front storm door. The technician was very contentious and hard working. He completed the service in about 2 hours and scheduling was very easy.

Titan Siding Windows & Exteriors LLC

The time had come to replace the 20 year old single pane windows in our home. We could not be more pleased with our new Simonton Windows and the entire experience with Titan. Chris made two trips to the house to answer every question we had about the Windows and installation. We never felt pressured. Steve and his crew were excellent! They worked quickly, were very respectful of our property, AND they were all just really nice guys! There were a couple little snafus with the ordering on some specialty glass and a door but it was all taken care of. Now here is customer service for you - one of the double hung Windows got out of whack when it was apparently tilted incorrectly. It would not close completely and a storm was headed our way. The owner, Mike Connors, returned my call and patiently tried to talk me through getting it back in correctly but I just couldn't manage so Mike came over right away and fixed the problem! I highly recommend Titan and Simonton Windows! I get so many compliments from people about how nice my new windows are! I should also mention that I had 21 Windows installed and yes it was a big investment but Titan even came in $1,000 under other estimates.

The company did not follow up after providing quote for work. After nearly 2 weeks I had to contact them to schedule work. I had told them that this was a matter of urgency since my back door was broken and would not lock. Despite providing sizing specifications, they did not perform any size checks and it required them to get 3 doors before we got it right. The contractor sent text several days before the job giving the indication that he wanted more details, but would not answer text or phone when I tried to provide additional details before the work. They also did not get the right components. The project was hourly and they kept not getting the right materials even though I had suggested what materials I thought they would need to complete the work. I even bought them lunch and went out for materials that they should have known to get. The job took too long, and I am certain I was overcharged. Even though I had paid for the service, I was asked for more money in cash. At this point I was simply too exhausted in handling them at every turn. Without my presence they would have done a completely horrible job. The assistant working on the job was great and I would use in future work. As it is, I still have to repair the door stripping damage and install the dead bolt locking plate myself. I am also trying to confirm with their billing department if one of the doors that had to be returned was actually returned (The contractor's lack of attention to details did not leave me with the greatest confidence that this would be the case). I would definitely suggest using different company. The reviews on angies list for this company are misleading. While my experience may not be typical, from the poorly managed process I suspect it is not unique. Consider yourself warned. Update: After spending months trying to resolve the issue, I contacted my credit card company to have the charge removed as they were on responsive to my case. I had the charge successfully removed and documented. Yesterday, 1/22/15, someone from them called regarding payment for services because they received a charge back for the work. I told them I had tried to resolve this issue before with them and now (many months later) they want to talk to me about resolving this balance. That they cared about my issue. I told them it was too late and that they were being disingenuous. I wasn't giving them a dime. They indicated they would submit to collections, which I told them to do so as I have the credit card proof indicating resolution of this issue. I want to escalate this with angies list, and am very tempted to file a harassment claim against them. I have never had an experience with a company this aweful.

I called the office the morning of 4/5 looking for a person who repaired storm doors. I talked with Sandra, who put me on hold and attempted to reach a technician she thought could do the job. She was unsuccessful in reaching the person, and she said she would call after she returned from a meeting. More than 24 hours have passed, and Sandra still hasn't called. Business must be good if you can afford to treat prospective customers this way.

Recent Review: We purchased an energy star storm door from them and they had told us at that point it might take four to six weeks before they were able to install it. It only took them about three to four days for them to install it. They provided me with great customer service. We were very pleased with the installation process and the service that we received from them. The price only reflects the installation price.

Recent Review: I had used the company in Nevada in the past. The service went well. One technician came out and completed the job in about 3 and a half hours. This company was willing to do even a small job. The technician was polite, competent and efficient. I had no problem scheduling the service and I would use them again.

Recent Review: Marcus came out promptly to measure and discuss the french doors I wanted to add to my enclosed porch to replace the previous storm doors. He gave me a rough estimate for installation and the name of a supplier in town that he likes where I could look at the options. I went there, but became confused by the measurements and was afraid to order anything myself, so I had Marcus take care of the ordering for me (for an additional cost). He remeasured to verify what we needed, did the research with the supplier, and sent me a written estimate via email. After I accepted the proposal, we had several emails back and forth to iron out small details, such as which door opened and the color of the threshold. A date was set for delivery and installation. The supplier delivered right on time, and Marcus arrived with his helper just as scheduled. The installation went smoothly and the doors operate perfectly. I've very satisfied with the work and would use them again in the future for any door needs.

Recent Review: The locksmith arrived very promptly in less than 2 hours. Initially, he did not think the work could be done because of the type of lock on the glass doors. He called Larson (door manufacturer), explained what he needed and I was able to order the cylinder to match my door handles. I am not sure others would have spent as much time as he did to make sure I had what was needed. I am not even sure that others would have known what was needed. He returned when I received the parts, again same day work in less than 2 hours. Work was very professional and fair (cost included the service call and he only charged me for 1 service call). He even went out of his way to make sure my door fit better when he noticed it was a bit loose from the installer's work. I highly recommend this business!

Recent Review: Estimate for the work was provided upfront. Amount charged for the job was the same as the estimate. All appts were kept, workers arrived on schedule, and work was completed when they said it would be. We were very pleased with the work and plan to use their services again. The deck railing looks very good and makes a nice addition to the house.

Recent Review: ML painting has completed several jobs for me. I initially used Oliver to repair and repaint drywall cracks. That went so well I used Oliver for a new shower in the master bath. He has also replaced two storms doors and a few other odd jobs. His work is excellent and the crew is very professional and highly trustworthy. We will use his services again I would recommend without any hesitation.

Recent Review: Great! I had the shed work done first and was so pleased with it that I moved ahead with house exterior project a month or two later. Ed worked with my financial schedule (getting bonus at certain time). He and his assistant, Emit, are both great. Ed did detailed walkthroughs with me before, including processing options in terms of paint colors/locations (turning 1970s three-tone color scheme into normal house with trim color....and making changes when I reconsidered). They did a thorough job of prepping the house, painting, touching up and touching up until it was perfect. They were always very professional and kept me up to date on when things would be done, if/why there were delays, etc. Best of all, they made friends with my very sensitive and skittish dog.

Recent Review: The work was completed 2 months ago and I will try to remember all the details. I called and left a message for Edward and he was able to respond within 1-2 days. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I've gotten many complements on the Windowmart window that was installed in my dining room. Initially there was a problem with the assembly of the new window ordered, but Edward was able to contact the manufacturer and reorder the correct size and it was installed a week after the expected install date. The storm door installed is very good quality and I was provided with all the warranties if I had any problem. The installer was very skilled and did a great job trimming and painting both the window and storm door openings. Regarding the gutters, they are also very good quality seamless 6". I believe Edward indicated that the installer would be out in 2 weeks, but I didn't get a follow up call on the exact date of install. I was fortune enough to be home when the gutter installer knocked on my door. Besides that the install and quality of work are excellent.

Recent Review: Ralph J Korstad (co owner) was contacted about fence replacement, additional lighting and possible storm door installation. Arrangements made for next day visit. He was very professional, got information and stated would provide estimate next day. Prior to receiving estimate the wife decided she wanted front door replaced. Estimate accepted for fence and lights. Doors will be replaced at later date when weather better. Contract signed and workers assigned for work 2 days later. Workers arrived a 8:00 and worked 2.5 days on fence. Lighting took an additional day.
