After speaking and receiving bids from two others companies Austin "Awesome" Awning was to be my third. I made contact with them initially by internet and then a call back to me was made. Made one appointment only to be called back to push it back stating he wanted "work up" something to best fit my need. Sounded fair enough and at that point and we already made contact by phone twice. When my newly scheduled appointment time rolled around "Walter" was no where to be found so I called. When we spoke he said, "didn't you get my email?" Then as I "the customer," started to explain that I did not receive anything from him, he began to explain how he thought I was already sold on another brand of awning from the previous bids I had mentioned. This kind of assumption is really a bad way to run a business. Also, never presume you know the needs or wants of a customer without first meeting them and providing a bid. Lastly, don't assume your bid will be too high for a similar product

Everything went very well, ahead of schedule. A.D. arrived a little before the scheduled time, that was great, he accessed the damage and gave suggestions as to what needed to be done. He gave me an estimate. We set up a date/time for them to come and get the awning. Within two weeks the awning was repaired and on its way back. The wiring was repaired for all three units. The awning was replaced and better than before. While working on the awnings, they cleaned all of the awnings so now they all look new. They also took screening off of the awnings that were not necessary. All three workers were very professional and very diligent in their work. When they left, they cleaned up after themselves

Installation went very well. My wife called them to install automatic shades on a wall of windows we have in our house. The rep suggested we would benefit more from an awning that was actually less cost to us. Installation went very well. Our house was made from a unique cement lattice structure and did not have wood beams for them to use - they spoke with our builder and managed to adjust to make the installation. Later on we needed an adjustment to the wind sensor (it was too sensitive) and they came out for no cost to make the change

All went very well on both jobs. Working with Emily on the blind choice she had excellent suggestions and the blind install by Del looks great. The wood fabric Emily suggested really enhances the look. The awning install presented some issues because of my roof line. But the technician figured it out and the large awning went up. We chose remote motorized so it can be operated from inside the house. Everything works great and the awning recommended by Del really helped mitigate the severe western Texas sun issue we had. Glad we did it even at the expense. It is a quality awning which I expect will provide trouble free usage for many years. If anything would go wrong I know I can trust Del to bring it back to like new working condition. Del and Emily are that kind of people. I had investigated other awnings, and while prices may have varied somewhat, I like being able to work directly with the owners who were both on each installation. A lot better than dealing with juts some employee who is simply paid to do a job

TERRIBLE!! I paid a large 5 figure deposit for 11 metal awnings on a commercial job. They took the deposit in December and as of 3.19.22 they installed 1 awning. When given a written demand that they complete the work or return the deposit, they ignored the demand and have not responded. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Jimmy Odom, the owner was very quick to respond to our call and gave us a very fair estimate. He estimated it would take four weeks for delivery but in actually, it arrived and was installed in three weeks. His carpenter, Dennis was very professional and demolished an existing pergola in a very short time making sure everything was removed from the premises. The awning was installed precisely as expected with Mr Odom present to assure the work was completed in a timely manner. HIGH RECOMMENDED for any outdoor work such as decking, awnings, outdoor kitchens, etc. We definitely plan to use them again

-Homeowner (me) made appointment for Thursday @11:am -HO wanted to make appointment for Friday, but Austin American Awning said they NO availabilities on Friday -HO drove from Houston to Austin at 7:00am in order to be on time for appointment - HO missed work -11:00am came and went, HO called at noon to confirm Austin American Awning would still be coming -AAA said they changed schedule -HO showed frustration at not being contacted upon schedule change -AAA stated that the office does not communicate with the installers and acted as if the HO was over the top for being upset -HO set up appointment for following day, Friday at 8:00am -8:00am came and went, HO called at 9:00 to confirm AAA would still be coming -AAA said 10:00am -AAA arrived at 10:00am -Everything was going well -11:45am installers stated they would take a 45min lunch break, return, and complete job -12:30pm AAA installers had not returned -1:00pm AAA installers had not returned -2:00 AAA installers had not returned -3:00 AAA installers had not returned -3:45am HO called AAA -Bossy (contact person) said one of the installers had fallen off a ladder and was now in the hospital -When HO (again) showed frustration : because 1] no one called to notify HO of situation 2]HO was observing installation all morning and was assured that this was the only morning job (even though originally Friday was entirely booked and we were unable to make an appointment upon first scheduling attempt) on their schedule and did not witness any accidents : the HO was yelled at and asked "Do you want me to play teacher and get a doctor's note to prove it to you?" -Bossy H. -Are you f*cking kidding me!? -They are coming back tomorrow, Saturday at 9:00am to complete the job -We will see -I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPAN

The shed build took two days. They brought in a crew of 5 to do the construction. They were very concerned about getting everything right and making us happy. Once we saw how they did with the shed project, we talked to them about the awning project, which was actually a bigger job. The brought mostly the same crew in for three days to complete this job. Again, they worked very hard to do the job right. If I need similar work done in the future, I will call them

The craftsmanship is amazing. Each of the guys on the work crew were constantly working, no one stood around at all. They accommodated some existing work site challenges and they adapted to it and built a very nice looking shed. They installed ceiling fans for the awning and they touched up paint as well. The attention to detail on both jobs was really good. The communication, follow through, and timeliness were all very good. The crew showed up when they said they would and they were very professional and pleasant to work with

Being from England I know a high-quality retractable awning when I see one. I moved to Chicago from the UK and decided to install a retractable awning at my house. I looked at many reviews on this website and others and came to the conclusion that a retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] was the obvious choice. Installed now for 4 1/2 years and have not had a single problem with it and don't expect to. We love it and use it frequently in the spring and summer months. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. They pulled our blinds, moved furniture that my wife and I couldn't, replaced 8 windows, Rehung the blinds, replaced the furniture, and cleaned everything up nicely. All in about 8 hours. Probably would have been faster but the original window installers used improper methods to attach the windows and they had to be careful to not damage the interior or exterior walls. The windows look GREAT! My wife is tickled pink at how much better the house looks, from inside and out. Our crew consisted of Ben Amato, the boss, David Smith, Trey Amato, Brad Floyd, and Greg Tyce. They were excellent, knew their stuff, were VERY careful with the demo and install, and it was very apparent that they were all about doing the very best job possible. Didn't hurt that they were friendly and funny as well. Not enough words in my vocabulary to show how much we appreciated them

We had an urgent request to seal a pipe that was poorly sealed by the builder, causing a water leak and damage after the snow storm. The insurance wasn't willing to pay for it, so we needed someone fast and affordable. The issue was finding contractors willing to go up on a really high roof. Armando and his team sealed the areas of the pipe where it was leaking within two days of me reaching out to them. They gave me frequent text updates and fast and courteous service. I'll be considering them for my next project

From pictures sent via email, they helped me decide on size, and design elements and promptly sent me referrence since they reside outside my area. The item was made, shipped and damaged in transit and they took care of details of returning item to them, dealing wiht the insurance company, correcting the issue, keeping me up to date in the process and remaking the awning and getting it back to me. They supplied detailed instruction to my contractor for installation and were available via phone for consult during the process. I am very pleased

We can't say enough good things about Craig: in fact, we are so pleased with his work that we are in discussion with him for another project. We know that one should always seek multiple bids before undertaking any project, but there is something to the old saw and quot;you get what you pay for.and quot; While we have no doubt that we could find someone closer to our San Marcos address who could/would do the job for less and who might do an excellent job, we absolutely know the quality we're getting with Craig. Craig is meticulous in the contract options he offers his clients; he has the strictest standards that he expects of his crew and sub contractors and insists everything meet his high standards -- or be done over. He consulted with us at every phase of the process and was patient and knowledgeable in why we could or should approach something in a particular manner. At one critical point in the 2005 project he spent no small amount of time consulting with a structural engineer assuring a particular load bearing corner had adequate support. All-in-all, we can't imagine working with anyone else

Great service. They even had to make a run to Home Depot to pick up a special tool. They had to spend extra time because of this but didn't charge any extra. Friendly and great work. They also pointed out some damage on my chimney that may cause problems in the future. Offered to give an estimate for that repair to prevent future problems

I really liked the fact that this is a local family-owned and run business from sales to installation. The installation was completed quickly and efficiently. They tested the awning, including the wind sensor, before they left. They also worked with us to make minor adjustments to make sure the awning was level with the house.
