OnCall Home Services

My kitchen cabinet was damaged by the dishwasher leak and the water remediation company had to get rid of the kitchen cabinet and took out the sheetrock behind the cabinet. Robert is a professional guy and he has been in the cabinet business for over 20 years. He bought the new insulation, new sheetrock and wood planks. He put the insulation and sheetrock back on and he made the cabinet from wood planks. The new cabinet matches the existing cabinets in the kitchen. He also painted the wall and so I could not see the sign of the cabinets being repaired. In all, I highly recommend oncall service

We have used Parrish on a number of occasions over the past three years for repair of cabinets and drawers. They have been always responsive, helpful, and courteous. The latest was a repair of a drawer, out of warranty. The service rep. also repaired and aligned other drawers for free which were difficult to pull out

Crosstown Painting
5.0
I interviewed many painters before I settled on Colton with Crosstown Painting and I am so thankful I found him! Colton and his crew took exceptional care in painting our kitchen cabinets inside and out. This was a huge undertaking as we wanted the cabinets spray-painted using the Benjamin Moore cabinet coat. Colton completely enclosed our kitchen in plastic from floor to ceiling and covered all appliances and the floor to protect from overspray. He did the same in the garage where the drawers were taken to be painted. We specifically asked him to leave the cabinet doors on (as they were originally painted that way and the hinges were there okay to be sprayed) and he was more than happy to comply with our request. He was very thorough and paid close attention to all the little details. Afterwards, he touched up some other areas on my walls and then did a great job of cleaning up. Locating a painter is hard enough, but finding someone who is completely trustworthy, super friendly, and does exceptional quality work without rushing through it to get to the next job is a challenge. I hit the jackpot with Colton. As a bonus, he also power washed our driveway and front porch and I never imagined they could get as white as Colton got them to look. It's this quality and outstanding customer service that allows me to highly recommend them for your painting needs

Tex Painting LLC
5.0
Tex Painting was awesome to work with! My wife and I have been trying to figure out what to do with our kitchen cabinets for the last year and a half since we have moved into our home. We finally decided that we wanted a nice, clean look and chose to paint our cabinets white. Based on reviews on Angie's List I contacted Tex Painting and got a response the same evening with information about what they would do and wanting to schedule a free estimate. Barry came out to our home and gave us an estimate on the work done and walked us through the process and how long he anticipated the work to take (3 days total with a crew of 3/4 guys. He was very patient with our questions and was knowledgeable with how paint would hold up on our types of cabinets. After speaking with Barry we were very excited and the quote was much less than we were anticipating. They were able to get us on the schedule the next week to start the work of painting our cabinets. The crew was prompt and spent most of the first day prepping the area. These guys do not mess around when it comes to prepping. They covered EVERYTHING. Our kitchen was encased with plastic, the counters, appliances, floors, etc. were all covered with heavy paper/plastic to ensure no paint residue got on anything other than the cabinets. Another very cool thing was I was concerned about the type of paint to use on the cabinets. I did a lot of research because I am anal and I was torn about which paint type to use. Barry gave me a contact to talk about my research and give me a suggestion of his company?s product. I was super impressed that Barry took the time to listen to my crazy rants and point me in a direction to give me peace of mind in my decision on picking the type of paint I wanted to use. Once everything was prepped (rest of day 1 and day 2) the crew sanded the cabinets, primed them, caulked the seams, and applied the first coat of paint (sprayed on). The crew was on time and worked from about 9 to well after 6. That evening when I came home from work I was eager to take a look at the cabinets and I was a little concerned as there were drips and dark spots on the cabinets where it looked like the paint absorbed into the wood and I didn't like the way it looked. Scott Miller (who is the owner) was also the project manager for my job. I expressed my concerns to him and he called me about 30 seconds later letting me know that this was just the first coat and that they needed to let the paint dry a little and settle on the wood before they could fix any of that the next day. I felt much better after talking with Scott and knew the guys would take care of it the next day. Day 3 the crew arrived again on time at 9am and began working. They actually repainted ALL the cabinets with a second coat of paint and corrected all the drips and spent another full day working. Once they were finished the crew lead walked me through the kitchen and let me inspect all the cabinets. I was extremely impressed with the finished product. The dark spots on the cabinets were gone, the drips were non-existent and the crew cleaned up all the prep materials. Eugene explained that we needed to keep the cabinet doors open for the next 24 hours to ensure the paint was dry and before we started putting everything back in our cabinets. It has been a couple of weeks since the work has been done and my wife and I could not be happier with the way the cabinets turned out. The paint job was excellent and I will definitely be contacting Tex Painting again when I need some more paint work done on our home. If you are looking for a company who makes sure the customer is happy, just stop looking and give these guys a call

It started off professional and ended unprofessional. Andrew Serrato started off kind but eventually his lies fluffed up. Since the proposal was not as specific it gave him enough room. to back off on some things that you would consider to be part of the project. He did not show up the last day and left a pile of mess by the garage that he promised he will come back to pick up. He promised to send a cleaning lady to clean up the construction area —kitchen- clean floors that were sticky after the project was done.. neither him nor the cleaning lady showed up last day. Bottom line — don’t believe in everything Andrew Serrato says he will do for you. Hold on to the payment until the very very last until you feel the project is completed the way it was supposed to be

I called and Casey came out the same week and provided me with a quote. I had to put the project on hold for awhile. I called him back and he came back over and kept the price the same. He scheduled and started the project on time. They came in 7:30am Monday morning, took all the doors and started the work. He had two really nice guys working with them and by Friday they had everything back together. Really great job, good price and they stayed on schedule and completed per their original estimated timeframe. Painted both the interior and exterior, replaced any hinges that were weak and put back all the original hardware. Left the place clean

Our process began in October of 2016. We had just purchased a house and began a remodel project before we moved in. We went to meet with Mike at his place of business to discuss our scope of work. He confirmed a date to come by the house to measure and quote the job. That date came with a no show. Should have stopped then. After numerous calls he did come by and complete this part of the process and committed to completing the job before Thanksgiving so we could move in. The first phase was to complete an appliance wall with cabinetry around a Sub-Zero side by side and combo cooking range. (Review the picture, not a big job) He came the first part of November for the demo and left. After a number of no shows for install, delaying our move in, the appliance wall was installed the week after Christmas. Mind you, less any doors or drawers. Mike committed to having them in next week after Christmas. Long story short, he only installed half of the doors 2 months later because the other doors and drawers were ordered incorrectly. Mike told us no less than 7 times the replacements would be in in a couple of days or next week. It's now April. For the last two weeks I have called him no less than 20 times trying to get resolution to this project with not one returned call. Yesterday, I went to his place of business to figure out what was going on. He told me he's been too busy and didn't have anymore excusses. He ended up our discussion with, let's call it even and left us holding the bag. He also had an island built for us, 48" X 108" for over a month that he left us out to dry on. I can tell you his talk may sound good, but business practice very poor. We were lied to on so many occasions I could write a book. This is the first time I have ever had to post such a review. Buyer beware. I wish it would have been a different story. We now are starting over with a half finished job. Th

When Brian gave us our quote- he was very detailed and even provided us a video. He also counseled us on the process and products, and made some great recommendations. Brian, Kevin and Caleb arrived on time, set up the work site and were at work in no time. In addition to being great craftsmen, they also kept an immaculate job site (as clean as a paint site can be) and were a pleasure to deal with. Kevin was the project lead and communicated with us daily- including updates and progress pictures. They were easily the best vendor we've dealt with in the past decade

U Granite's team of professional contractors and sales managers provide top of the line customer service here in Austin. Prompt response when requesting estimate appointments and their installation team is fast and trustworthy to have working on your personal home or commercial project. Amy and Eric are rockstars and a lot of fellow real estate investors praise and recommend their work
We had Paper Moon painting repaint our kitchen cabinets and are thrilled with the results! There is a noticeable difference in quality from our original paint job done by a different contractor 7 years ago. They took the time to sand, prime and spray the cabinets with lacquer to create a beautiful smooth and durable surface on the cabinets with no brush strokes. Simon and CJ were very personable and professional and took great care with prepping our kitchen for the paint job. They arrived on time each day and left the space spotless before they left for the day. We would absolutely use their services again
Servando is friendly and polite except for his unprofessional and inconsiderate failures to show for appointments. Quality of cabinetry is average to good. It is very important to specify in writing every detail of construction & hinge/mounting expectations. Interior construction details were disappointing with wood fractures, a lot of splintering around holes, etc., just looks like a rushed job. Drawer slides feel wobbly/flimsy, which is disappointing after spending the money to construct and paint all new cabinetry. I recommend upgrading interior wood . I will only do dovetail joints in the future, which I don't think they offer. When they installed our bar, instead of shimming one side, they pushed flush with a wall, which made the cabinetry crooked. The most frustrating aspect of working with Servando was his no shows. He REPEATEDLY told me and my husband that he would be at our house at a specific time, and we planned our schedules to meet him. We would confirm with him that morning. Then he would not show up or even call. The first few times he gave us understandable excuses, but it got to be ludicrous after that. In February he brought me a sample of a wood bar top he said he could construct for us. After multiple assurances of having completed it and being on his way to install, by June he had still not shown. We chose to start over with someone else for the bar top. Aside from our crooked bar, our cabinetry looks good on exterior. I am disappointed that the interior construction is not more solid. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend EKC because of unreliability
Took a while to be seen, but salesperson seemed fairly knowledgeable once she had time to help. Did not push us toward more expensive models, but explained pros and cons of each. After we had purchased, she even offered to file our rebate claim for us, which she did without a hitch. Delivery also went well for the most part and we are happy with our purchase. Two hitches: the washer came with a drainage hose that wasn't long enough for our set up and I didn't get a call back when I called our salesperson. We decided to make due. Second, one of our salesperson's associates helped us for a bit while our salesperson was busy, and she did try to push us toward more expensive model, so I guess it's a bit of luck of the draw
It went great! Dale helped us pick out a remnant-this saved us money. We explained we did not want to worry about fussing over granite as a heavy antique sink would be placed over it and felt a manufactured piece would hold up better. He helped us find a remnant in the warehouse. I was impressed with how well organized and clean their work shop is kept. They were busy with other orders so he told us it would be 14 business days before completion. Dale under promised and over delivered! It was done in two days and he gave us a small back splash from the remnant. Gold Star deserves a gold star especially Dale
Here's the bottom line, their prices are good. I shopped and found they were competitive, especially on travertine. Their service is not good. So, if they have what you want and you can just pick it up, it's probably ok. If you have issues, it's not worth it. I originally bought porceline tile from them. It was reasonably priced. Frankly, I found deals as good elsewhere. But, I liked a particular tile I found there. Everything seemed fine until we got part way through the job and we started opening boxes that were a different color. So, I took the wrong colored boxes back. They said they had somehow got mixed together. Ok, things happen. No bid deal. But, then they realized they were out of the color I had purchased. They told me they would find it and order it. I heard nothing from them. After a couple weeks I called them back. That seemed to create action. They found it within a day or so. A couple more weeks passed before I got a phone call saying it was there. Well, by that time my installer was busy on another job. One thing lead to another between him being busy and me being busy. A few months passed and I went to pick it up. They informed me that there was this huge storage fee because it had been sitting there. I explained to them what had happened. Nothing. I explained again saying that originally I had picked it out and taken it home that same day. It was only sitting there because they gave me the wrong thing and then took over a month to replace it. They didn't care. They wanted a several hundred dollar storage fee despite the entire problem stemming from their screw up. Plus, they didn't even have it anymore. It had been shipped somewhere else. So, I left p*****. Now, I had a bathroom to finish and a kitchen that still needed to be done. Problem was, I couldn't even find matching tile for the bathroom that was 80% done. I decided my only option was to start over in the bathroom and just find a different tile for the kitchen. I decided I really wanted travertine in the kitchen. So, I started shopping. While I found other places were as cheap or cheaper on tile, travertine was clearly cheaper there. I just couldn't go buy it there. But, I couldn't justify paying way more elsewhere either. So, I went there, bought what I wanted, bought plenty of extra, inspected every box to make sure it was right. I had it installed and it is wonderful. I then returned the extra and that went smoothly. Overall, the second time around everything went smoothly. I had an unbelievable slow and incompetent guy I had to wait on to bring it out to load. But, that could happen a lot of places. When it asked me if I would use this company again, I originally put no. Then I realized I had used them again after the first experience. So, I guess the answer is only if I couldn't find it for the same or close to the same price somewhere else
Ben was upfront from the beginning, explained the price, the quality for the price and what was involved. I could have paid a lot more and I would have gotten a little better product, but I was very happy with the finished product. Since I am very handy, I did some of the finish work myself, although I believe that if I had asked Ben to get it done, he would have. I told Ben from the beginning that communication was very important to me and he always returned calls and kept me advised about the minor issues that arose
