Mike did a great job. He communicated and showed up when he said he would. He gave a reasonable estimate and when the job was a little more complicated than he had anticipated, he did not ask for more money.

Kevin did an excellent job on the doors. He made several adjustments to the double pocket doors and replaced the hardware. He had to remove the finish molding top and side to lift out the single pocket door. He replaced the hardware on the single pocket door and reinstalled the finish molding top and side. He swept the floor when he was finished. We were very happy with the work that Kevin did for us

Rudy Cruz was our Handyman. He arrived promptly and worked tirelessly until the job was done right and we were satisfied. This was not as easy a job as the title may indicate, requiring work inside the wall pocket with a heavy 8 ft. door! We are VERY pleased with his work and politeness/friendly-ness. We will recommend him to friends..

Worked with Charlie on the project and it went very good. He had the wall and doors installed and had his painters out the next day to finish the job. He did a great job and looks like it was part of the original wall. He also installed 4 can lights and did a great job. He has even come back to fix some things that we didn't like after completion and said he wanted his customers to be 100% happy and we are! He is now going to install several fans and outlets in the home. He is easy to work with and committed to performing a solid job to please the customer. Thanks

All the work was done very professionally and looks great. He had suggestions on items we hadn't thought about too that made the remodeling job turn out better than just what we had planned. Part of the work involved repairing water damage and working with our insurance adjuster was involved and that was handled professionally as well. I would definitely use again

Update 01/11/2013 I paid for this job in full October 2012 even though the exterior carpet had not been installed yet. The carpet that I wanted to use was a special order item and they talked me into paying in full with the promise that there would be no further issues. Fast forward to December 2012 and due to a combination of complete lack of follow thru on their part and my own own laziness in staying on top of things it has still not been completed. After a few text messages were not responded to I phoned the office directly and the new story is that I have not paid for the materials, even though I have messages saved in my phone and email showing otherwise. I was livid, and the office manager promised me that he would look at their records and get back with me promptly. This was just before Christmas. It is now January 11th and I have yet to receive a phone call, despite the fact that I have left multiple messages this week. I was finally able to get a person on the phone this afternoon and the response was that he has not had a chance to look into it yet and 4pm on a Friday is not enough notice for him to get back to me this week. Understandable if not for the fact that I had left 3 messages on their voicemail this week, including one at 9am that morning. Because I do not know if they are going to honor their commitments and my payments I am not changing the score of this review, except to give them an F for responsiveness, as 3 weeks is far more than enough time to look up an old invoice. I was a bit disappointed with the wine rack. My main concern was to stabilize it and to give it a " finished" look, which I didn't feel happened. However, they acknowledged my concerns and offered to come back out and fix it as a warranty repair. The rock work was excellent. I was really pleased with how it turned out, you cannot tell old vs new work. The work they did finishing out the sink was EXCELLENT. It was a difficult project due to the previous contractor's poor work, and they were able to make t happen

REDD'S PAINTING & DRYWALL LLC
2.0
It started with a call to Redd's who we have contracted before. The work was good, but needed constant following up. Because we liked his work we decided to go with him, and also he expanded his business to small remodel jobs. We asked for a quote, set a date to begin the project. On the first day he did not have much of anything ready to begin the work in which he stated that the job will take little more than two days. Day one gone. Day two he could not show up or did very little and wasted another day from work. Day three was a little more productive but still had issues with the doors that were ordered, damage to the doors, and not enough equipment. All and all the project took longer than was too be expected, and that can be acceptable unless you are simply not prepared and fall behind on due to your own doing. As we finished the project and paid the final fee, we assessed his work and recalled Redd's back to take can of the issues found. Some of those issues were, paint job not complete, did not clean doors or other drips and splatter, doors did not function properly, door equipment was taken off that should have remained in place for proper function, did not install and finish the threshold as directed and agreed upon, door equipment was installed improperly, switch plate that was broken was reinstalled without informing me of the damage, the door that was damaged by the manufacture or by the contractor was installed and painted over to cover up the damage after the Redd's said he was going to have it replaced. Several discussions and emails were had to remedy the issues. Redd's did come out once and did not complete all the work, and would argue about the work done and that he did not know what the big problem was about many of the things that needed to be completed or fixed and certainly not for the items that were broken under his own hand. Further Redd's stated that he was not going to come out for such small dollar items and that I could fix them my self. I don't recall Redd's saying anything about the small dollar amount when he decided to take on the job. Once he got the job, it seemed all customer service and commitment to the job was lost. Did I mention that sheet rock that I had from a previous project I worked, he used and did not credit me for the purchased material? One other item to note which I think relates to respect for others, he decided to tell me in great detail the issues of some of his past employees and why he fired them and their troubles. It did not stop there, he also told us about how the person he brought into the house was arrested and the detail therein

Rx Home Solutions, LLC
5.0
It was a pleasure working with Rx, if one can refer to remodelling as a pleasure. In fact I was very impressed by the professionalism of everyone in the company, Paul, Tim, John, Lamar, Gambino and another John. The work was scheduled for one month and they finished it in 29 days. They are at the door EVERY Day at 7.30am and only took one day off - Labor Day. All the credit goes to the work ethics of the team, especially John and the well-managed scheduling. The cost structure was very transparent. Rx charged for the labor and I took care of the purchases. They were very helpful in picking up the merchandise, when they were not shipped to the house. I prefer working this way because it reduces a lot of potential misunderstandings. I found Tim and John very easy to work with. They tell me what could be done and what was not advisable and often suggested ways to achieve the results but in different manners. I appreciate very much John's contributions. He kept me informed. remembered my specifications, reminded me what would be needed, and double-checked with me whether or not there were misinterpretations. His cheerful can-do attitude never made me feel bad when I made changes or asked for recaps. We love the finished bathroom. I count myself fortunate to have found them. They have given me much confidence in approaching my next remodelling project

Got me a lush steel door with a 3/4 light (22 x 48) window with a medium (8 x 15) Endura flap dog door built-in. Everything went well except for installation. When door was installed they forgot to re-install alarm magnet, rendering my alarm system useless. They came and fix it. Then I discovered that with the new door there was no longer a tight seal (you could see the outside daylight where there was supposed to be seal on the sides of the door). They came again and tried to fix it, I trusted the job was performed correctly this time and it was not. At the end, I had to called someone else to fix the problem properly. They sell good unfinished quality doors and flaps, but make sure they install them properly the first time

Zach was a tad late, but called before hand to let me know. He was knowledgeable, polite, friendly and got straight to work. He was happy to do any handyman job I had to fill my allotted time, even airing up bike tires!

I needed to have the door and frame put in to the backyard. They did not do a good job at first and they actually tried to take the new door out of the new frame and put it in the old frame. It did not fit at all and was bad workmanship. They eventually came and made it right but they had to replace the new door as the original new door was damaged

We bought the package for roller replacement but ended up needing new doors all together. If you think you might need new doors, have them out first - the package doesn't allow for transfers so I lost the $99 spent for roller replacement and tune-up.

Blaker Restorations & Remodeling INC
5.0
Blaker Restorations and Remodeling was a great contractor for my remodel. Alex was professional, courteous, detail-oriented and a hands-on contractor. He promptly returned my phone calls and addressed all my concerns (although there weren't many concerns as Alex was on top of the project at all times). The crew were all very competent in their respective skills and performed excellent work. The installation of the new pedestal sink required additional plumbing which was unknown when the job was bid. The replacement of the pocket door was unanticipated, but Alex honored the original quoted price of the contract despite the additional plumbing work and the replacement of the new pocket door. I really appreciated this and felt that Alex went above and beyond to maintain great customer satisfaction. The room looks beautiful and I plan to use Blaker Restoration and Remodeling for another bath remodel. Alex is dedicated to his clients and their satisfaction is a priority for him. I highly recommend Alex and his crew

Al was very easy to work with, knew what he was doing, and was helpful in work that I did not have him do.
Very good!! Very quick in all aspects of removing existing windows installed new windows very quickly. Everything looks great! Professional personable and complete customer satisfaction with work done!
Steve from Cothron's arrived on time, looked over the door and locks carefully and then explained exactly how he could improve the security of the door. I wanted to install a non-jimmy lock but he advised against it, explaining that those do not work at all if a door shifts even a 1/16th of an inch, which is highly likely in this older Austin property. Overall, a really good experience. When you call, if you have questions, ask to speak with someone who has technical or field experience. I dinged them for professionalism because my first phone call to Cothron's was answered by someone who could not answer any questions and was very frustrating. The only reason I called back was that Cothron could do the job that same day and no one else could. When I called to arrange an appointment, I spoke to someone else who was very competent and helpful
We scheduled an appointment and they arrived on time. They removed the door and sealed the doorway with plastic. The inside of our door was severely damaged by our dog. They were able to sand and repair the door to a remarkable degree. They refinished both the inside and the outside of the door. I supplied them with a new lock which they installed. The door looks fantastic!

All repairs and replacements done to high level of satisfaction. Very experienced. Very professional. A few days after work was completed, we noticed the back door was closing a bit tight, but we did not bother to contact the handyman and let them know; it was not a big deal for my wife and I. The exterior wood that needed to be replaced was behind the gutter. My wife did notice some minor damage that was done removing the gutter, one of the hanging wholes got torn open. There is a slight chance this was existing. Regardless the handyman repaired the tear very well, which we took as a very good sign of professionalism. Also any additional work that needed to get done, which they noticed while working on our agreed issues, was brought up, even stuff that would require other types of service. Finally payment options were flexible and convenient. I highly recommend Affordable handyman services
Overall we are very satisfied. George, the owner, came out within a few days of being contacted and provided a detailed estimate for the work we wanted done. His bid was the lowest of 3 bids. George did a great job of "herding cats," otherwise known as keeping track of and maintaining control of his subcontractors. The work was first-rate and completed on time, despite some weather related delays at the beginning of the project and came in on budget. George is a stickler for detail with a serious attention to detail. He was not satisfied until everything was completed to our satisfaction

Great Experience - would use Truetelligent again; had a very quick response with great results. Steve was thorough and professional. I would use him again. He not only fixed the doors that were a problem, but checked and lubed all the other pocket doors in the house. Then he explained why the stuck door had the problem. He is much appreciated
