LIGHTNING VOLTS ELECTRIC SVC
2.0
He came out in a timely but I feel like he overcharged me and he did not do much. I will probably not use him again. He tightened a little screw on a light fixture. The reason why I called was that in the kitchen the lights would dim at times. He looked at the panel and said that everything was fine. Then he tighten the screw and charged me $200 I felt like I was taken disadvantage of

He wasn't at the home for very long. They installed it and it seemed to be working -- we've had lightning storms since then. The router modem has gone out with the storms since then but I'm not sure if it's related or something else.

I had 2 electric sockets in my bathroom that wouldn't work. I reset the GFI (or whatever it's called) in my kitchen but the sockets still wouldn't work. I called Lightning Volt Electric and they sent out Andy to fix my problem. Andy tested the sockets and confirmed that they were dead. He then went out to the garage and reset the GFI in my garage and the sockets worked. I didn't know that there were two GFIs in my house. I asked Andy what I owed him and he said a handshake. I have his card on my refrigerator and will use Lightning Volts next time I have a problem with anything electrical

Great service, no upselling, fair price. A recent thunderstorm with heavy lightning caused an electrical surge that resulted in some expensive damage. I didn’t want this to happen again, so hired DUNMAN to install whole house surge protectors and repair garage lighting. Cody was punctual, professional, and efficient. All repairs were completed in an hour. Very happy

Chris was professional, efficient, and informative. He also fixed some shoddy work done by the original builder and recommended the whole house surge protector deal on Angie's list which we are taking advantage of after our lightning experience. Malco has done other work for us over the years and they are really excellent

Andy was great to work with. He had good suggestions, and listened to and incorporated our ideas. When we first turned on the new lighting, our jaws dropped. The change in the room was that dramatic. Lightning Volts has been our general-service electrician, and we will continue to use it for projects both large and small. (I did not grade the price because we did not comparison shop, but we feel like we got good value.

I looked up electrical contractors on Angie's List and Lightning Volts was close to my house. I called up Andy and he provided an estimate, honored the Angie's List discount and installed my new electric car charger in the same day. I couldn't be happier! Andy is super nice and trustworthy. If I need electrical work in the future, I'll be contacting Lighting Volts (aka, Andy) right away

The contractor's electrician took one look at the panel and said everything was "five star" and great. That took about five minutes. he then told me that he was "finished" with the whole house electrical inspection. I pressed him and described the electrical problems we were having after a recent lightning strike. GFCI outlets would trip based on very light loads (one or two 60-watt bulbs), all of the outside GFI outlets would trigger with the slightest load, broadband over power lines equipment wouldn't work, etc. He said that everything was fine -- and actually "five star work" -- based on simply a visual inspection of the breaker box and components for five minutes. I described the electrical problems that we were having and told him that they started with the lightning strike. He said it was all normal behavior and basically brushed it all off. Contractor told me that lightning strikes don't damage wires and breakers -- they only damage appliances. He said people worry about lightning strikes because they are dramatic, but they are really no big deal for electrical systems. When I pressed him further, the contractor did check voltages in a few outlets. When they weren't tripped, the voltages were ok. He said that meant there was no problem. I reminded him that the excessive tripping was the problem, but he said there is nothing that can be done about that. Then he up-sold me on installing a whole-house surge protector. Which was another couple hundred bucks. I assume that works -- no idea really. We just lived with the problems until I found finally got frustrated and decided to do my own research. As it turns out, the five minute inspection of the breaker box was really insufficient to diagnose the problem. Here's what I learned from my own research. I'm not an electrical engineer, but this is what I found so far. I'm going to hire another professional to have them re-do the inspection and check this out. What I learned later: 1) Every time a breaker or GFCI trips, its tolerance becomes a bit lower. The more times they trip, the more likely they are to trip. After too much of this type of behavior, they need to be replaced. Even if they were "five star" components ten years ago. 2) Lightning strikes CAN damage electrical systems. They can damage breakers, affect wiring, and even melt components in the system. Other professional recommended replacing ALL breakers and GFCI outlets after a lightning strike. That may not solve 100% of the problems, but it's a good start. Bottom line: I paid $100 for the "whole house inspection" that was really a "look at your breaker box and check a few random voltages" inspection. I got up-sold, which is sort of beside the point. And the advice I got from the busy, rushed contractor was later contradicted in a big way by another professional

It went well. The electrician installed the whole house surge protector to the outside electrical box. It took less than 15 minutes. Although the surge protector itself is about $50 at home centers, I still consider it a deal compared to what other electricians are charging. I've also read good reviews about the unit. Although rare, if there is an electrical surge in the area (due to lightning, etc) where the unit had to 'sacrifices' itself by absorbing the surge, it would need to be replaced -- it's a one-time use. One will be able to tell it needs to be replaced when the green LED is out

They did a good job and were very nice. They got to their work and cleaned up after themselves. We were very pleased with them and the work was fine. It took them a few days to get out here, but they came the day they said they would and they came within the time allotted.
We got Chris from CHORE Masters as part of our membership. He showed up on-time for our bid and was quick but not rushed. He offered some advice, which we love, and we ended up adding recessed lighting in our main entry, in our family room area, and dow our main hallways. Chris also suggested dimmers, and we had them added. We love the dimmers. We literally use them every single evening. Great guy. Fair price. Will recommend him to anyone needing a good electrician

My house was struck by Lightning and power was not coming up in several rooms. It was determined that ARC fault breakers and a GFCI receptacle were to blame. They replaced the faulty components and check out the rest of my electrical system. Will use again.
