Louis showed up when scheduled. At the first greeting I knew he was one of those guys you could trust being in your home. He was pleasant and professional. It was obvious he was a detail oriented guy. He did a great job and constantly wanted feedback from me as he proceeded through the job. We discussed some other upcoming projects I'm considering in the next couple of months. I will not hesitate to contact him again for future work.

JohnN showed up very promptly at 8AM, and asked for the priority list. He checked out a leaking toilet and immediately found out the reason for leak, he advised us to get the parts while he works on the next one the list, changing kitchen faucet. By the time I got the parts for the toilet, he changed the kitchen faucet, that was about 30 mins. He fixed the toilet leak in 15-20 mins. Then we asked him to install new cabinet knobs, about 20 of them, he carefully marked for drilling holes and drilled them and installed knobs. For the rest of cabinets, we did not have enough knobs, so just drilled holes so we could install ourselves. He did drill couple of holes on the wrong side of the cabinet, otherwise I would given him "A" for quality. We ran out of time by then. He accomplished more than what I thought he could do and we saved a lot of money.

The job went very well, and I'm very pleased with the result. Sal Love installed nine(9) cabinet knobs and handles in my master bathroom, as well as a new towel bar. The new bathroom hardware and towel bar look great, and Sal was very professional and conscientious about his work. The amount he charged for this job was fair, and I will plan to use him again in the future for other things I need done at my house.

I called Austin Handyman owned by a man called Dan to schedule an appointment. I had bought a $75 deal on Angie's List for 2 hours of handyman work originally worth $150. I was very concerned of not damaging the drywall of my brand new house to hang a heavy picture. Also, I have expensive cherry cabinets and was very particular that to install hardware and drill holes on them, there should not be any damage to the cabinets. Dan was cordial and did his best to schedule an appointment in a 2 week window I gave him, that too for a Saturday morning. Luckily he found an independent contractor called Sean Henry to do the job. On Saturday morning at 10:00 AM, Sean arrived on time. He wanted an overview of the services to be done. He took 30 mins to hang the heavy picture. He was precise and methodical in his approach and the picture hangs beautifully now. For the cabinets, he started drilling holes after precise measuring, collecting sawdust in his own little bucket (that was so thoughtful !), cleaned up after himself as much as possible, gave valuable drilling knowledge in case we wanted to drill by ourselves later on. Overall, we were very pleased with the quality of his services. Sean Henry is a thorough, courteous and honest handyman. His work is way more superior than most handymen.

The tile installation took one day longer to get started than originally promised, then was installed quickly and looks great. After several days (even up to a week at times) of delays and no-shows (and constant lies about deadlines from the project manager, Andrew Serrato), the kitchen cabinets were painted, hardware installed (poorly), vent-hood installed (unevenly), and living/dining areas painted. Quality of this work was not great, but the prices were very good. A new drawer was constructed and installed, which promptly broke, showing very poor construction. Andrew agreed to fix it, and came to pick the drawer up and fix it. After setting times to return and reinstall the drawer, Andrew stood us up 4 separate times with no phone calls to explain (even after "promising" that he would), and he has since not returned any calls. We have now given up and have hired someone else to finish the project. The workers at Residential Solutions are kind and hardworking, including Andrew. However, whenever he actually did show up with the team to do work, he explained that he was leaving OTHER people in the lurch to do our work. Also, we heard some of his team mention that their pay was late.

Overall it was great experience of working with Jeremy and Julie in the remodeling of the house. At the outset, they spent time at the property collecting all the information necessary to formulate a detailed written proposal that broke down the scope of work (including the cost) along with a time frame to complete each phase of the project. They provided quick written responses to questions I raised concerning the proposal prior to solidifying the proposal into a contract. The remodeling project included work that was handled by another contractor. Jeremy and Julie worked very well with this other contractor to ensure the concrete work was performed in a timely manner to avoid any delays in the overall completion of the project. Jeremy and Julie responded timely to any questions I raised during the course of the job. I would certainly use them again for future projects to the house and will recommend them to friends.

Business Description: We sell quality manufactured cabinets as well as custom cabinets. The best way to describe the manufactured is semi-custom. We use the same or very similar materials (all wood, soft close rails, dove tailed drawers and more) as our high end custom cabinets and better materials than the most custom cabinets. We sell them for a fraction of the price. Our custom cabinets are very good quality and competitively priced in the market. We also sell cabinet hardware, accessories, sinks, and faucets. But, cabinets are our main business.

Recent Review: John Hammett and David Heard of H & H are hardworking, dedicated, honest, and fair -- pretty much everything you could ask for in a contractor. John and I worked for a number of weeks to get our bid finalized, and much of the bidding, pricing and payment is skillfully handled by John's very capable and delightful daughter-in-law, Sarah Hammett, who makes all of the financial work go smoothly. Once we finalized the bid, I purchased the bulk of the materials necessary to complete the job (tile, lighting fixtures, toilets, sinks, faucets, cabinet hardware, etc.), while the crews got to work demolishing and installing our new kitchen and baths. Overall, the entire process from the bid to the last day was about two months, with construction taking about four weeks. John and David were always willing to right any wrong (not matter how small), and even threw in little bits of work for free. In short, these are two upstanding, colorful characters I would rehire in a second.

Recent Review: Mr. Handyman sent Marty and he was fantastic! He showed up on time and was ready to put on his booties when I said, "Nah, you don't need those--I have all tile and hardwoods in the house." But he was prepared nonetheless. I gave Marty the rundown of what I needed (and even had a sheet with everything written down because I changed a few things since I initially called Mr. Handyman. No problem--Marty could flex with the changes. We hadn't moved in yet, so our house was basically empty, so I then went to work and completely trusted Marty to work in the house while I was away. When I came back at the end of the work day, I did a walk through with Marty and everything looked great. He came by the next morning at the same time and on time. Marty noticed that I couldn't put in some light fixtures in the bathroom where I wanted to move them because of pipes. Thank goodness he figured that out and he and I troubleshooted how we'd do it. (I ended up changing how I was going to do the lighting.) When he finished that day he did a walk through with me to show me everything. I couldn't have been more pleased. He also cleaned up everything, and so there wasn't any debris left in my home. A few weeks later after our painters had re-painted the interior, I also had Marty come back to do more work (install the new ceiling fans, install some very heavy and beautiful wooden medicine cabinets, finished the install of the lighting in the bathroom, and put in two new faucets in the master bathroom.) That job, too, totaled around $1200. There was one time Marty got stuck on another job and couldn't make it to my place to remove a built-in medicine cabinet that needed removing before our painters came, so Mr. Handyman sent Wally. He was great too! He removed the cabinet and patched up the wall with texture to match our wall's texture and you can't even tell there used to be something there. That job was roughly $250. I would call Mr. Handyman in a heartbeat again. And I would definitely request Marty or even Wally.

Recent Review: The project went beautifully, with very professional salesman [Tony Laudadio, who came to our home in the first week, filmed and measured everything, calculated with his IPad, and gave us a firm cost, with a free flooring flyer discount], Josh Agrelius [scheduling], Matt Wallace [project manager], as well as Jason Duane and Christina in the Austin office -- all providing information, advice, and assistance over a two-and-one-half month period, from initial call and visit through final installation. The main work was done in a week-and-a-half stretch by two very skilled tradesmen from South Austin, who were courteous, competent, clean, dependable, helpful with decisions and changes, as well as very appreciative of our hospitality. There were no added costs, even when we made changes in fixtures and flowing choices. When they finished -- meeting the deadline that ReBath had set two months earlier -- we then chose our own paints and completed our renovations in the next week. We wondered about the price and how Tony did the estimate, since his work order just listed the materials that we had chosen. When I asked for a detailed list of item and labor costs, they sent only a list of rough combined material and labor costs for each of the rooms. When I noted that some folks on Angie's List had noted somewhat "high costs," ReBath stated that the costs were actually reasonable, consistent with the high quality of materials and workmanship. I found that to be true, as best I can tell. We actually could not be happier with the beautiful outcome!!! We had lots of choices for shower and floor materials, in both color and substance. Given the small samples that Tony could bring to our home, we found it most helpful to go twice to the ReBath office on Howard Lane in North Austin to see larger and more varied samples, as well as model displays, in picking our shower stone walls and flooring [at Tony's suggestion, we visited Floors and Décor warehouse on Braker Lane to see their huge offering, before choosing a different more dramatic flooring there for the Master Bath]. The materials and colors that we chose, with some advice from Tony and Matt, turned out great - many shades of browns to greys in the wood and granite, with striking contrast in the dark bronze fixtures. And removing the dividing wall in the Guest Bath, as Tony suggested, made a huge difference in the open feeling, so well implemented by the two craftsmen who did all the work. We are grateful to the whole ReBath of Austin team, and we highly recommend them to our friends and others.

Recent Review: Our signed contract reads 50% at the start of work and 50% when work was completed. The original contract was for $7950. Abraham Vallejo, Jr., a/k/a Pro-Fix Handyman Services, Pro-Fix Contracting Services, LLC, (Pro-Fix), had a starting date of Monday, October 9, 2017 and our signed contract called for all work to be completed by November 1, 2017. They did not finish the work by the agreed upon completion date. Because of my previous commitments, on October 26th we signed a second contract extending to Pro-Fix Contracting Services, LLC,, Abraham Vallejo, Jr., additional time to complete the job and, against my better judgment, gave Pro-Fix Contracting Services, LLC, Abraham Vallejo, Jr., $1500 draw from the balance owed him at completion as he said he did not have the money to pay his men. The 2nd contract stipulated the remaining work was to start on November 9, 2017 and be completed by November 16, 2017. On Monday, November 13, 2017, he asked me for another $1500 draw from the balance owed as he needed to pay his personal bills or he would walk off the job. I said this was not our agreement and refused as I was not sure if I gave him another $1500 I would see him again. Because I would not front him more money, he walked off the job without finishing the painting. The remaining rooms to be painted were my bedroom, bath and walk-in closet. He did not return my bedroom dressers, night stands, or bed to the bedroom. They were left in the living room and kitchen. He never replaced the smoke detector, the air conditioning vents were left covered, ceiling fan left unassembled, door knobs and strike plates not put back on, and bathroom cabinet doors were not put back on. This posting is for your information. You may take from it what you wish. When all is said and done, these pictures tell the story. Items pictured represent only a portion of what was left unfinished when Mr. Vallejo left. Twice he breached our written signed contract. It is said “a picture is worth a thousand words” – I think these pictures speak volumes.

Recent Review: Marcus Cestarte is well organized, careful, good natured, knowledgeable about a lot of home repair issues, and has a good eye for design. He uses quality products and takes no shortcuts. He correctly told us what "disruption" to expect. We were our own contractors, but he told us in what order all the renovations should occur and helped us plan when to bring in other workers. He and an assistant repaired drawers and doors, sanded them and the cabinet sides down to bare wood, then stained and finished (with marine varnish). He suggested a change to our plans for the window surround; we took his advice and love the result. He was very careful with the tile and requested our presence to be sure the tiles were placed just as we wanted. He called when he was delayed and gave us mostly accurate time projections. His pricing was very reasonable. The cost was higher than estimate due to changes we requested. He does not take credit cards. He considers himself an artist, and we agree.
