WILSON PLUMBING CO
5.0
Having just purchased a new home I was aware of several plumbing issues. I found Wilson's on here and gave them a call. They were offered me appoints the very next day. I was at work while they looked over my plumbing, they then called to inform me that the work I thought I needed was not correct. They explained that my bathroom pipe was leaking and needed to be fixed ASAP, they offered to do it right then. The estimated price was $550. I recieved a call a few hours later where they informed that the work had been completed and since they could do it quickly I saved on labor and the bill would be closer to $300. Such a wonderful surprise! The only word of caution I have is they told me that a kitchen pipe was leaking and I have had other plumbers come to confirm this and tell me if it was leaking it was nothing substation enough to replace

After John came to do measurements for bid he said it would take 2 days for an estimate. Almost a month to the day later we finally received an estimate via email. I called at least 5 times to his business and left messages to call me back. I should have known better and not let them do the job for lack of response. He said they could do the job in 2 days. It was a small job so I thought no big deal. Needless to say the work performed was subpar. I asked that a final walk-through be done for inspection. Nobody came out after 4 weeks and 4 failed attempts to get someone to come look at the job performed. Drywall is cracked and the painting looks like my child did it with his water coloring set. After 4 weeks of no responses from messages I left with his office I finally received a bill for 30% more than what was originally quoted. He presents himself as being the owner of a company with many workers but in reality all he is a contractor that subcontracts all work he gets. He has the audacity to bill me for "General Conractor Overhead @ 10%" and another line item for "General Contractor Profit @ 10%" So he charges me for making a profit over the profit he already made on the job performed. Amazing. Consumers please stay away from this unethical person and business

Cold is on the Right Plumbing
5.0
Amazing!! These guys go above and beyond. I expected it to be a bit of a "project"... with electrical, floor tile, ect. being an issue. Brendin, the owner, said "just pick what you want and we will make it work". And that they did! His team went with me to Lowes, advised on what best options were, picked everything up and had it installed in a few hours. Everything looks so great! There was a small tile that was broken (which I expected since existing vanity was different size) and I didn't mention. However, when Brendin inspected, he noticed and said he'd have his tile guy come and fix at no charge to me. For anyone contemplating a bathroom renovation- call Cold is on the Right! For under $600 in labor, I have a beautiful new bathroom. You can't go wrong with these guys

Kenneth and his helpers arrived on time. They got the old vanity out and replaced the floor and sheetrock. However, when they were placing the new top on the vanity, it got cracked (which I understand...things just don't go right sometimes), but apparently when they went to get another vanity top, their measurements were off and the top did not fit, so they had to go out again and get a third top. The new vanity was a bit smaller than the old one, so there was a gap between where the old one was and the new one began. They used a rounded piece of wood to fill in that space, but the way that it was used looked really poor. They were exceptionally sloppy with painting, getting paint onto the white baseboard and leaving it that way. I had to point out to one worker that the door hinges on the vanity were showing on the outside where they shouldn't have been and that the doors were not closing correctly as a result. I did ask Kenneth to come back and make a more professional job of where that rounded piece of wood had been placed and correct the poor paint job (as well as leave the rest of the paint I bought for the job), and he did, and it looks better but just not professional, painting looks better but not great, which now leaves me with the actual finishing up, as I'd rather not call Kenneth back again. I believe Kenneth means well, but this job was just not finished out as it should have been

Terrible. He installed the bathroom vanity on top of a piece of cardboard that was covering the tile floor instead of removing it first. He built the interior wall incorrectly and in a sloppy fashion. He did not fasten the drywall to the wall correctly and he was not floating it out appropriately. I asked him to redo some of his work in a polite manner. Instead of discussing the problem in a rational way, he grabbed all of his tools and left. I had to remove a lot of drywall mud that had not been floated out, and had to clean up a big mess he left on the porch. He only finished about 2/3 of the job and I paid him appropriately

The project was supposed to take a week, it took more than 2 weeks. The project was supposed to start upstairs in the bathrooms first and work it's way downstairs since I was staying in the house during the repairs. The workers worked on items out of order so I was left without a bathroom and place to sleep at times. The house was very dirty and it took a long time to clean it up each night. After they were "done", I made a long punch list of items that were incomplete and/or done poorly. The owner himself came finish the work but still there were little items that were left undone or subpar. I believe that this job was rushed and therefore done poorly. They also went above budget which was a sore topic especially is the work was subpar

Quality Handyman Services
5.0
I am very pleased with this service. Dave was great to work with and his crew are all competent and pleasant to work with. I initially wanted a vanity installed and some toilets installed. The vanity was an issue because the walls were warped and getting it in to fit was a challenge. They did a great job of fitting it in without damaging the cabinet and prepping all the cut-off valves for the new plumbing to be installed later. They removed two old toilets and installed two new hi-rise, low-flow toilets and they are great: no leaks and firmly seated. They also replaced two old track light systems with two new, contemporary LED fixtures. They repaired and replaced drywall, hauled away the old toilets, debris, etc. and cleaned the work site very thoroughly. I am very pleased with the interactions with Dave and his crew and the pricing and quality of their work. I am planning future work and intend to have them do it for me once the new materials and cabinets arrive. My dogs liked them all, as well, so that is a big bonus

Radiant Plumbing & Air Conditioning
5.0
As stated above, I was doing a DYI project of changing out a bathroom vanity top, sink and faucet. All was going well, but when I tried to put the new drain to the existing plumbing, it wasn't a match and I knew I was out of my league to "fake it". I searched Angie's list for a plumber and saw Radiant Plumbing. I called them and they scheduled someone to come out and give me a quote the next morning. A wonderful plumber named Reuben came out and encouraged me for trying to do the project and gave me some great pointers. He then gave me a quote which was higher than I was expecting, but when he explained the need for updating some of the existing plumbing, I decided that it was probably better to do it now before it was a problem in the future. Reuben told me that he could schedule the work to be done the very next morning. He then came back and asked if I would like to have it done immediately as his schedule had opened. I agreed and within a few hours, I have my new sink working like a charm! I would highly recommend Radiant Plumbing as the customer service was courteous and helpful and Reuben was great as well

I had some problems with scheduling and finally got the appointment set up. The woman in the office was not very helpful, but don't give up because the 2 gentlemen who actually came to do the work were great. The first appointment was scheduled for "morning" and I started calling Touchstone at noon to find out why the plumber was a no show. Turns out they had an emergency case but nobody in the office bothered to call me. In any case, any frustrations were worth it because the work was done quickly and efficiently, the price was fair and both plumbers were friendly, courteous and cleaned up after themselves

We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work, the speed at which it was performed, and the overall professionalism. Work areas were always left clean, the workers were friendly and communicated very well about what they were doing, and the price for each job was well worth it! I felt that the guys truly cared about helping us get our home into shape, and we'll be calling them again as there is still so much to do! My husband and I are NOT handy, and we're so grateful for this service! Thanks, guys!

Mr. Handyman of NW Austin
5.0
Mr. Handyman sent Marty and he was fantastic! He showed up on time and was ready to put on his booties when I said, "Nah, you don't need those--I have all tile and hardwoods in the house." But he was prepared nonetheless. I gave Marty the rundown of what I needed (and even had a sheet with everything written down because I changed a few things since I initially called Mr. Handyman. No problem--Marty could flex with the changes. We hadn't moved in yet, so our house was basically empty, so I then went to work and completely trusted Marty to work in the house while I was away. When I came back at the end of the work day, I did a walk through with Marty and everything looked great. He came by the next morning at the same time and on time. Marty noticed that I couldn't put in some light fixtures in the bathroom where I wanted to move them because of pipes. Thank goodness he figured that out and he and I troubleshooted how we'd do it. (I ended up changing how I was going to do the lighting.) When he finished that day he did a walk through with me to show me everything. I couldn't have been more pleased. He also cleaned up everything, and so there wasn't any debris left in my home. A few weeks later after our painters had re-painted the interior, I also had Marty come back to do more work (install the new ceiling fans, install some very heavy and beautiful wooden medicine cabinets, finished the install of the lighting in the bathroom, and put in two new faucets in the master bathroom.) That job, too, totaled around $1200. There was one time Marty got stuck on another job and couldn't make it to my place to remove a built-in medicine cabinet that needed removing before our painters came, so Mr. Handyman sent Wally. He was great too! He removed the cabinet and patched up the wall with texture to match our wall's texture and you can't even tell there used to be something there. That job was roughly $250. I would call Mr. Handyman in a heartbeat again. And I would definitely request Marty or even Wally

Altruistic Home Repair/Remodel
3.0
Al showed up first and was very professional and explained what would happen, etc. Then he walked his 2 workers through it and left. One worker did the bulk of the work. At one point, about an hour in, they also seemed unclear on the instructions Al had given them and debated amongst themselves instead of just calling him (which made me a bit nervous). I understand the inherent difficulty of matching tiles to old, existing ones and trying to level a surface with natural clay (ie not perfectly flat tiles). Also, the tiles had to be cut down about 1/2 an inch to match the dimensions of the existing ones. In other words, I understand that this was a challenging project and appreciate the extra work the guys put in. The finished product is adequate considering that it's covered up by a vanity. The surface isn't level (I expected some variation but not this much). My two main problems were: 1) The cost seemed high. I get that they had their work cut out for them and they encountered problems, like having to cut the tiles. But I was paying for 2 workers and it seemed like 1 guy was on his phone/going on lunch breaks most of the time. 2) They poured thinset down my bathtub drain. Not only was I left to scrape splatters off the side of the tub and drain, but my drain was clogged and required plumbing help after they left. There was also thinset all over my exterior doorknob. I get that our house was a total mess (in the middle of being renovated --it looked like a warzone) and I told them not to worry about meticulously wiping the haze off the tiles, as I was going to go back with a sealer. But there's a difference between clutter/construction detritus and permanent damage. Pouring cement-like materials down a bathtub drain is a no-brainer (don't). I would have gladly carried buckets and tools downstairs to the dumpster/hose and cleaned/disposed of them myself if it meant not having to take calf-deep showers until the drain was fixed. I'd give Al and the more experienced worker an A. Ratings are lower overall due to the cement problem. Otherwise, I understand this was a tricky project. I think that for simple projects these guys would be fine. For more complex projects, I'd recommend a) that the workers write down Al's instructions and b) he come back and inspect once the job is done so that there's some degree of quality control
We interviewed a few different companies for the job. Safe showers has a show room & we did visit the showroom. The owner was not in but the receptionist was very knowledgeable and helpful. We called and made an appointment for someone to come to our home. The owner himself came and arrived on time. We told what we wanted. He explained everything in detail and answered all of our questions. Everything that he said would happen, did happen. One the day the job was to start, the foreman with is assistant arrived on time. The were on time, polite, professional & did exactly what we were told they would do. A mast plumber arrived, also on time. Everybody cleaned up after themselves. The completed was completed the next day. We love our shower. Easy to take care of and easy to clean. Mostly importantly, also has bars in the shower for safety. I would highly recommend this company to anyone
Chris Duncanson is terrific. He was very conscientious about answering questions and returning phone calls and texts. The price was reasonable. The quality of the work was outstanding. The work was finished in a timely manner - exactly when he estimated it would be done. Everybody who's seen the work in the kitchen is blown away. He's mature, responsible, has a great sense of humor, and was very pleasant to deal with. Just out of the goodness of his heart, he helped me with another repair that had nothing to do with the kitchen remodeling. I would enthusiastically recommend Chris to anyone wanting to do remodeling work
It went great! With an old house, renovation is never easy. Extra custom was needed, however Howze Plumbing did not charge for the additional work. The job went well and I’m very pleased. Howze Plumbing is honest, punctual, professional and cleaned-up before they left. I will be using them again and consider Howze Plumbing my go to plumber
Called Excaliber first thing in the morning with no hot water and homeowners were remote. The response was that a plumber (Eddie Guerrero) was in the area and would come by in the morning for an estimate. It was discovered that the water heater needed replacement and the system brought up to code. Mr. Guerrero took care of water leakage and quickly gave an estimate, explaining the options fully. Once the estimate was received via text and phone calls, he came back a few hours later to make the install. He was efficient and thorough and communicated great about the install throughout. By 6 pm that evening, the heater was installed and hot water available. Excellent service was provided
In August, we signed with Rx to have a bathroom remodel. They started on time, finished on schedule and budget, kept us informed all along, and the completed bathroom looked great. It was so great in fact that we re-hired them to do another bathroom immediately after in September. That bathroom looks great too

I had excellent service with Dennis. He called me when he said he would and was on the job when he said he would be. He let me know the time he would be late because of a flat tire. Even though he had another job he needed to start as soon as he was finished with mine, he worked around the illnesses of the tenants with no complaint. Dennis did what he could to hold the cost down. He hand mixed the paint for the fascia using paint he had and it was almost a perfect match for a 40+ year old house. He had some spare singles so he was able to repair the small area that was broken without having to buy a whole package. I was very pleased with everything he did. I had no problem trusting him to do the work. I would definitely hire him again and recommend him
Most recently they installed new interior doors on a closet and did two sets of cabinets. I purchased the parts, they installed them. They did a great job!
