Fermin was great! We had just bought a house which had floors that were pretty beat up. We had a lower bid, but our meeting with Fermin convinced us to go with him. We could tell he was very professional and would not let us down. He started the job on a Monday and finished the job on Thursday (a day earlier than he initially quoted). He called after each day to let us know the progress of the day. The floors look absolutely great. If we ever have to refinish the floors again, I would not hesitate to call Fermin again

Adams Hardwood Floors
Brian, Greg, and their niece Serena were fabulous to work with and did a beautiful job refinishing 3 rooms of engineered red oak flooring that were somewhat scratched and dinged. It was reassuring that the business owners actually did all the work themselves. The floors now look better than when originally installed, with a much more natural looking finish. After getting our input, Brian provided us with samples of different stain colors and finishes so we could pick what we liked best. He worked with us to do the job in 2 phases so our house wasn't completely disrupted all at once. We cleared out the largest room first, and the team refinished that one. A couple of weeks later, we moved the furniture from the other 2 rooms into the room that was already done and the team came back to refinish those rooms. This was less efficient for them, but they didn't charge us extra for that. The work was immaculate, and they contained the dust completely by hanging plastic and using machines that caught most of the dust. We had no cleanup to do afterwards (other than getting a painter to repaint the shoe mould that was removed and reinstalled). They worked extremely hard, sometimes late into the evening, to get the job done on our schedule. We would definitely use them again. Their price per square foot was considerably lower than another longstanding Austin flooring company that gave me a phone quote (and wouldn't have allowed us to break the job into 2 phases)

Boatright was extremely responsive. I contacted Greg on Friday and met with him Monday morning. Boatright was able to schedule my work for the Thursday of that week! I was impressed by how quickly they could do the work. They went out of their way to meet my schedule. The results were great, the oak floor looked virtually new. This was done without the need to sand the floor-- just a stripping of the existing finish, a reapplication of the stain/oil, and a buff. Very nice job

I was completing a remodel of my 1940's house. After patching two different floor areas, we couldn't quite get the finish to blend, so we called Fermin. He came by within 15 minutes to look at the problem. He made his recommendations, measured, and e-mailed me an estimate to sand and finish 640 sq. ft. of white oak floors, and to screen and coat 952 sq. ft. of oak flooring. He threw in the closet space and used top-of-the-line products (Bona-Traffic) to do the job. It looks fantastic. I highly recommend him. He's a super guy

We had a great experience with Adam's Hardwood Flooring from start to finish and couldn't be happier with the results - our floors are gorgeous! Shirley was great to work with on scheduling each of the appointments and the work itself. My husband enjoyed working with Willie when he scoped out the project and it came in at less than we expected. Willie also made him feel comfortable with how they would perform the work. We were a little concerned because we have woodwork around the doorways (transoms above) and the baseboards/quarter round are in the same wood stain. If some of them were ruined, we were afraid they would be hard to match. Their son, Greg, and the team delivered on the expectations Willie set - they were very neat with the work and did an excellent job. They were so careful with removing the quarter round that not a single piece was broken and they were able to place them all back down. You can't even tell they were ever removed. As far as the finished result, the floors look brand new! Everyone that's seen them is very impressed and rave about how wonderful they look. We definitely recommend Adam's hardwood flooring to anyone wanting their hardwood floors to look like new again

Everything from start to finish went extremely well. Dan and his crew showed up on time everyday. Worked for about 8 hours everyday and finished the job on time as promised. We had pinewood flooring throughout our home which is a very soft wood. Our floors were badly damaged with deep scratches, along with bite marks on the stair treads from our dogs. We honestly did not think that the floors could be refinished since they were damaged so much and boy were we wrong. Dan and his crew did an amazing job refinishing and made the floors look like new again. We had a three story townhouse and when they were finished sanding they took their time making every nook and cranny was clean and free of wood dust. All three stories were dusted down and vacuumed well. Our house looked immaculate when it was finished and it sold within 9 days of listing it. Refinishing the floors made a huge difference and Dan's company was one of the less expensive contractors that came out to give us a bid. Dan even advised us on not replacing the damaged stairs but just refinishing them to save money. Another contractor told us that they had to be replaced. Luckily we followed Dan's advice which saved us a lot of money!! Dan's crew, which is his family (mom, dad, brother and girlfriend) are all very nice, honest, hardworking people. We would definitely recommend them to family and friends! We would also definitely use them again in the future!

Albert and his crew were very nice to work with. We had some maple floor boards in the kitchen that were damaged from a plumbing leak and needed to be replaced. He came out the next morning after I called and evaluated the job and confirmed that they could fix it. The next day he called with the quote and we scheduled the repair. They were very professional during the work and their experience was evident. The end result looks great. Overall, it was a great experience working with them and I would recommend it to anyone needing flooring related services

It is hard to find a good, reliable contractor especially when you are planning to remodel the master bathroom in the house where you expect to stay for the next 15 years. We looked at different websites (Yelp, Angie's list etc...) and met and talked to more than 10 contractors but at the end, there was something that was missing or wrong (too expensive, too long to reply to email, too much subcontracting etc...) until we met Pat. We initially scheduled an appointment at 8:00 am and he was right on time, explained us clearly the different difficulties that we may have and provided us with an estimate of amount of time to complete the work (6 weeks). Between our first meeting and the beginning of the work Pat provided us a detailed schedule of the work he is planning to do and was frequently sending us an update of the status of the job that he was doing. He wasn't the cheapest, but we really appreciated the way he was communicating with us for our project. He stopped by two more times to check with us some details that we were worrying about before the beginning of the work. It was also an occasion for us to meet his wife Leyla. At the end, we didn't regret our decision to hire Pat. During the whole time of the project, Pat was always on time, protecting our hardwood floor at the beginning of the day and cleaning it at the end of the day. During the 6 weeks of the project, Pat was always keeping us up to date with the progress of the work and was sending us pictures while we were working. He was perfectly on time and was doing a very good job taking care of all small details. We had some delays but it was only related to other companies that we worked with (countertop, cabinets etc...) and Pat was always here to provide us feedback and recommendation based on his experience. We also appreciated that Pat was dedicated 100% of the remodeling project without subcontracting the work. He was doing a perfect team work with his wife and we really appreciated his dedication and the quality of his work. Another big advantage is that Pat and Leyla were super friendly with our dog and didn't mind having him at home while they were working. When the project was done, Pat came couple of times to see if everything works well. We will be working with Pat and Leyla on our future projects!

Trey, the lead contractor and I hit it off from the beginning at the time of the estimate and carried our positive momentum all the way to the completion of the job. He gave me his best price and showed me how to save money ($500) on the job by performing my own demo of the old flooring. The agreement for the work was made on a Friday, Trey then lent me his trailer so I could dispose of the old flooring, and we completed the demo on Sunday. Trey and his crew showed up on Monday morning and I paid him his 40% "start money" and they finished on Thursday afternoon. I have to give Trey and his crew high praise because they helped me with my ailing father and tiled his room without putting him out or causing any displacement. Trey also returned the left-over material and returned the funds to me. All in all a very pleasant experience

My first contact with Southern Painting was very pleasant. A consultation was planned easily around my work schedule. When Rick showed up I was very impressed. His presentation was top-notch and I could tell that this was a very meticulous, trustworthy man. When it came time to give me an estimate, Rick simply went to his truck and 15 minutes later returned with a printed copy along with materials giving me information about the company and the warranty. This was very much appreciated as I've had more than one contractor come to give me a quote and either taken weeks to get back to me or not bothered to bid the job at all. In all, I probably received quotes from 6 companies to do this job. Southern Painting was the second lowest price, but I was so impressed with Rick's presentation and demeanor that we decided to go with them anyway. Popcorn removal is a project that needs to be done by people with experience, and I was confident that Southern Painting would do a good job. The job was scheduled to start the literally the day after I called Rick to tell him he won the contract. Rick, Felipe, the team foreman, and 4 workers promptly showed up that morning and got to work right away. I felt completely safe leaving them in my home while I went to work. All of the men were extremely polite. I was amazed that by the end of the first day almost all of the popcorn had been scraped off- these men really worked quickly! I also appreciated the care they took with our furniture and belongings. It took 5 days for them to finish the project. Before we scheduled the final walk-through, I got a call from the foreman stating that some of the tape used to hold down the plastic sheeting to protect the wood floors had taken up some of the varnish. Felipe said he already had made arrangements for a flooring subcontractor to come take a look at it and go about fixing it. I was really grateful for the proactive action on his part. We did the walk-through that night and found a few touchups that needed to be done on the walls, and overall we were overwhelmed by the wonderful job the men did. It was decided that the floor would be fixed on the spots where the tape was, but if need be they might have to sand and re-varnish the whole floor. They ended up having to do the entire floor to get it to match, and not once did we have to worry about the company taking care of it. Without hesitation, Southern Painting went above and beyond to correct the small blemishes accidently left on the floor, and now we are left with a wood floor that looks brand new. Rick, Felipe and the working crew are men who are professional, experienced, conscientious, and skilled. I never had a problem getting Rick or Felipe on the phone for an update. I will not hesitate to recommend this company to my friends and family, and we will definitely use them for any painting projects we have in the future

Keith has always done a tremendous job with my home. My new kitchen floors look great. The tiling was precisely measured and fitted so nothing looks out of order. Outside my bedroom window the wood was starting to rot and fall off. He replaced all the wood trim and repainted - it looked just like new. When my water heater blew it made a mess of my house. a quarter of my house was flooded, the ceiling collapsed and several walls were flooded. He dealt 100% with the insurance company. He then had 100% of the damage repaired, plus got me all new carpet for the entire house so that it would match the new replacement (my old carpet didn't exist anymore). He was able to match my paint exactly and replaced my ceiling light fixtures. A new water heater was installed to current code as well. You can't tell there was ever any damage. The work was done FAST too. He installed a thick radiant barrier in my attic which has had a noticeable impact in my electric bills. Right now I'm having him install two solar panel attic vents to complement the radiant barrier (and help conserve my 20+ year old AC system). I'm sure that will go just as well. I'm very pleased with the work he's done to date and gladly recommend him

All demo work was performed in a professional and quality manner. Much attention was paid to protecting / care of displaced furniture, kitchen appliances and home furnishing during entire process. We just today had our hardwood floors restored by Jeffand they look great. Previous owners had used some improper cleaning agents that had left an uneven hazy pocked finish on the floors - we thought we had to entirely replace the floors, but found Mr. Sandless at the Austin Home and Garden Show. Jeff provided a reasonable quote and tiered it based on if a top coat / seal was necessary vs just going all in. We lucked out and the original finish was buried under the haze intact - looks great and we saved sometime bucks vs replacing floors and a bit vs going the full distance with resealing. Ps - iPad doesn't let you correct typos on this site...

I hired Stephen Smith to refinish hardwood floors. I then asked him to bid separately for some subfloor repair. Before he submitted a bid, I received a fantastic bid from someone else so informed Stephen Smith I did not need a bid from him for the subfloors. He then sent me a series of threatening texts demanding that I hire him. This scared me to the point I contacted the police. He also threatened to report me to the city building inspector, which he did. He wasted the inspectors' time and he wasted my time. I think he is unstable and I would suggest against letting him into your home
