Austin Deck Company

Abe did a wonderful job designing the deck as well as obtaining the proper permits from the city, something that other deck companies were not willing to do. Josh and Jory, the guys who built the deck, showed up on time every day and did a fantastic job. The job they did exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this company to anyone needing a deck

It went great and love the deck. The workmanship is wonderful. The neighbor came to look at it thinking of using this company. He found missing wood coverage on the side of the deck (where no one walks in this area). I was upset as I did not notice it. Contacted the builder. He seems to be unresponsive and said will order to cover these missing wood (unfinished job). I had a specific design for a bench and they did not follow through and had to do it again. I did all these drawings. I do not think he has done anything yet. And the covers for the railing started to split. (Wish I could send a picture). I went to Lowes to get replacement for the railing covers and the representative will check if the covers are under warranty and that this builder needs to put the seams together again. I had 25 years warranty. I checked with Lowe's representative if this builder ordered Island Grey trek to cover the side. To date, the builder has not ordered the Island Trek wood. The builder is a great person, but unfortunately not with a sense of urgency or following up on past few issues. The deck itself is magnificent. The builder needs to be more sensitive to our needs or follow up needs. He needs to be attentive to billing charges, follow up and checking if all work is done. You can see from the photograph a beautiful deck with a ramp

We were so satisfied with Jason and his crew at Matthew Lorand Companies that we contracted them again in July 2022 to make repairs to our wood deck and stain it. They also put in a new concrete walkway at the front of our house which looks great! We will use Matthew Lorand again in the future.

I contacted pet independence to inquire about a dog door installed through a brick wall. They installed the dog door and created a covered deck and ramp. They were super easy to work with and did a great job. We now have the cutest dog door and ramp ever!

He did a real good job on the ramp. He matched all the stuff I already had on the porch. He just extended it because I had broken my leg and I live alone. I was trying to get as independent as possible. I have a scooter and needed to get around. He is like family and he does great work. I was so impressed with him that I didn't get another quote. I would use him again in a heartbeat

Capital Construction did a great job on the deck. There was a slight miscommunication regarding which rails to replace which left the crew short of materials but it was worked out quickly and the job was finished ahead of the promised time.

Having lived in our house since 1991, we have always been bothered by this one area in our backyard that is behind our garage that is currently a waste of space and a potential safety concern. I had been wanting to cover it up with deck and also install a hot tub on. In my mind, the potential to turn this eyesore into something really functional and appealing got me really gung ho to finally tackle this project after ignoring it for so long. Abe from Austin Deck was one of the contractors that came in and looked at the project. He was very upfront about the complexity/cost benefit and his demeanor did not suggest at all that he was trying to milk us or take advantage of our unique backyard situation. He even followed up and verified an error on the survey we sent. But given the backyard slope, depth and other costly prerequisites however (moving AC condenser), I found that it my initial vision turned out to be more of a complexity than I expected. I think what I appreciated the most was how courteous and professional Abe was throughout the whole process knowing that we are really at our wits end with how to tackle this project without going overboard on cost. In the end, after getting all bids back and mulling it over, we did not go through with the project. I never got from him once that we were wasting his time and he even mentioned that had it been his own property, he would have probably arrived at the same conclusion we did. If all contractors were this professional, getting bids for improvement projects won't be such a dreaded exercises for home owners

Austin Deck Company

This past May we hired Austin Deck Company to remove a large wood deck and replace it with a new design featuring fireproof materials. From the very beginning we knew Austin Deck was worthy of our business. Abe was thorough, professional and timely in answering our many questions and concerns. He listened and knew what we wanted. Abe made sure we knew why was happening each step of the project. His crew, Mike and Jose, also were professional, competent and always on time. Even when we ran into significant erosion problems, they were flexible to allow us to hire other contractors, stop their work and come back when our erosion problem was fixed. They cleaned the worksite each day and finished when planned. Our deck is beautiful thanks to Austin Deck Company. We would definitely use Austin Deck Company again and recommend them highly

He does really good quality work and is very helpful and easy to get along with. He also very reasonable with his prices. We will continue to use him for future projects

Jason and his work crews (gutter screens and reconfigured, deck repair, roof repair) did a great job for us. We looked at about five options for the deck work before selecting one and that pre-sale support was excellent. After the project started, scope changes were handled smoothly with quick quotation, agreement and tracking. Work crews were efficient and professional and kept the job site neat during the deck work hauling away the old deck daily and if items were stored on site they asked first. We are very pleased with all the work and highly recommend Jason Joseph and the Matthew Lorand company

From our initial meeting with Abe we were impressed with his professionalism. He answered all our questions and those we didn't think of asking, and was around or available during construction. We felt what we were charged was more than reasonable for the quality of the work done and the time spent with us during the planning stage. His crew was quiet, worked diligently and the site was left very clean. Without hesitation we would recommend Abe Oeltjin of Austin Deck Company - they certainly exceeded our expectations

They gave us a competitive quote. They did a good job. It was exactly what we wanted. It is Nicol constructed. They were very professional and polite. They cleaned up after themselves.
Major remodel including three additions (adding front porch, increasing size of bedroom in one direction, and adding master bath and closet in another direction. On-call management services did a fantastic job! They helped me to utilize all the space available. The quality of their work was high and the materials used were exactly what I wanted. I am a very happy customer and would use them again
Colten and his team were terrific. Not only did they come in with a much lower cost estimate than other contractors, they were able to incorporate higher-end finishes into the design. Things like a custom built cable-railing, lights in the staircases and even a custom dog ramp. On top of everything else, they're super nice and easy to work with. When part of our decking came in with discoloration, Colten was able to remove the affected boards and swap them out quickly and without any additional cost. Highly recommended for all of your deck needs
I had several bids for different companies to come out and give me a solution on making my back patio safer for my Mom to be able to get into the back yard. My existing patio was 10W x 12L. The short-term solution was a recycled steel ramp but the location was a little too steep for Mom and her walker. Juan had the best solution of all and the fairest price for this project. In addition to the patio I wanted a small pad out back for my chiminea. The project took two days – one day for the forms and the pouring on the second day. Juan was right on time as expected and his crew was so friendly and professional. They all worked so hard! After the pouring was completed and dry Juan came back out to do some touch ups and clean up. You couldn’t even tell anything had been there it was so clean. I really appreciate Juan giving me a solution to help my Mother. I love my new extended patio. There is a place for my BBQ and the ramp is safe for Mom to enjoy the backyard too! I would recommend this company and plan to use them for any future projects. Thank you Juan!
David was wonderful to work with! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained what was needed to get the job done and a great estimate. I also asked him to refinish our front door. It was gorgeous! He was very neat and tidy and interested in doing the job well. Can't wait to use him again!
THE PORCH: The original owners had built on to the house a large (45’ x 17’) screened-in, wooden decked porch. It was ugly, had a low, sloping ceiling, and the wooden deck which was built directly on the ground was rotting out. What we wanted was to completely remove the existing deck, replace the rotting wood deck with a concrete slab with proper drainage, and raise the sloped roof by several feet. THE BATHROOM: The original master bathroom had been partially remodeled by the former owners to include a huge (and largely useless) oval Jacuzzi tub which was surrounded on all three sides with dark wooden paneling; a very low single sink and tile countertop; an equally low toilet, and a fairly useless closet at the back of the bathroom. What we wanted was to completely gut the thing down to the studs, get rid of the closet to increase the total size of the bathroom, put in all new fixtures and custom cherry cabinets with granite countertops. We did not want a Jacuzzi tub but we did want an extra long tub. We also wanted the entire bathroom to be tiled. THE WORK BEGINS : ( Or, as we like to call it, “YOU FOUND WHAT IN THE WALLS?”) In short- massive termite and old water damage. Pat and his crew had to replace substantial portions of the walls in the bathroom, living room and bedroom including new wall studs, ceiling joists and footers. Those are the unexpected costs in a remodel. PLAN FOR IT! The demolition and construction of both the porch and bathroom went beautifully. There were some delays due to the endless rain and cold weather, but the work progressed at a steady pace. We have to admit to being guilty of constantly changing things, but Pat was very understanding and professional and made sure we got what we invisioned. LAST NOTES: Remodeling is a nasty, dirty, painfully expensive process. Do not scoff at the old adage of it taking twice as long and costing twice as much as you thought it would. It will. Make sure your relationship with your significant other is in good shape before taking on a major renovation! Aside from the mess and inconvenience, you will be faced with making about a thousand decisions you didn’t even know you were going to have to make. And you will encounter issues you never dreamed of. Having a good contractor like Pat will help get you though most of these difficulties. Cost-wise, Pat isn’t cheap. But understand this: you absolutely get what you pay for in the building trades. And Pat’s work is excellent. He wants it done right, and he demands that of his subs and his crew members. I can’t find a way to attach photos, so if you want to see some before and after photos, please use the link below. You’ll have to trust me that the finished product looks a hundred times better in person. http://www.pearsonarts.com/pjb/PJB%20Contracting%20website/index.html Ultimately, the question comes down to this: “Would you hire this contractor again?” To that, we have to give a resounding “YES”
They were very professional and we really liked them, but their price was a little high for us for a wood deck. We decided not to go with a wood deck for the project, but would have gone with this company if we could have afforded it.
