I called and left a message for Jodi message. Within a few days she called and asked some questions about my project. I was very impressed that she got back to me so quickly because I know spring is a very busy time of year for landscapers. Jodi asked all the necessary questions and sent pictures of projects that she had completed. From the pictures I could see that she did beautiful work and had pride in her completed projects. Jodi answered all my questions and provided great suggestions. In hours she produced a fair estimate. The next day the contract was signed and the work was scheduled. Jodi's crew were very professional and timely. But, mostly importantly they were incredible craftsmen. I was amazed how they took a pile of flag stone and created a beautiful patio. The work site was keep clean and upon completion everything was cleaned and put back in order. This project was completed in less than a week! Jodi and her crew did a great job and I would definitely use her again

We had these god awful pavers that were way outdated on our patio and didn't really know where to start. Our neighbor was also concerned about out tree that has been in bad shape for a long time now and needed branches taken up. Then was an area in our yard after we removed a gazebo that was having standing water and a bad eye soar. We heard about Jodi and after seeing all the reviews everywhere gave her a call. She came out about a week after and I was shocked at her enthusiasm of doing the job, because we lost all hope and could not quite see what she was seeing in the potential. The experience was very professional and we learned a lot too. Jodi and her team created a great area outside where we can enjoy finally. Next step is new furniture for the patio. The neighbors were very happy too at the efficiency of the tree service and how clean they kept everything, even through rain days. We trusted her on the type of stone to use and are very happy about that, it's just beautiful and goes with what we were trying to envision. The old French drain was only few inches down and not working, so they took that out and installed a new one correctly that works perfect now. It looks like a dry creek too, so nobody even knows it's a drain. We are very excited to get the plants and landscape going in the Spring, and our daughter cannot be more happy having her own little shed and fairy garden. The paint colors are too cute and little shelves. The fence needed a new look and so they painted and stained it a really pretty solid color that is light and goes with the other work. We were very impressed with Jodi's communication levels, especially with our daughter, and she and our cat are looking forward to the next project and using her for our daughter's birthday party to show the kids garden activities and using art with plants. Jodi is also a Horticulture Therapist and really educated us on plants and her new services she is extending with children, animals, and getting people connected with nature. We even tried some aromatherapy with our cat and so far it's really working! So thank you Jodi and your hard working team, your wisdom and great attitude. It really meant a lot to us, because we were gun shy about the project and trusting someone, and already got taken by the drain being installed wrong. It is nice to know there is a company and person who stand by their word and does amazing work. You can tell she is very passionate about her job and has a great relationship with her workers. Really respectful people. We couldn't have asked for more

Terrible! I have never before experienced such shoddy work or such poor service from a service provider. This is a person who has, apparently, absolutely no pride in his work at all. Following is a letter to the contractor that I included in the envelope with the final payment. In my experience, anyone with any pride at all in his work would have been back the very next day to try to provide some sort of customer satisfaction. But not this guy! I have not heard a single word from him. and quot;Your final check is enclosed, not including the bogus charge for the restocking fees. The pave stones were returned because they were the wrong style, NOT because they were the wrong color. Even if they had been the “right” color they would still have had to have been returned because of the style. You and you alone were responsible for ordering the wrong style. You verbally acknowledged this fact to me and told me unequivocally that you had accepted responsibility for the restocking fees. Now you want to renege on that statement and try to bill me for something that was NOT my responsibility. Shame on you! As I indicated, your final check is enclosed, though, very frankly, reluctantly so. Your workmanship on this project is shoddy, amateurish and unprofessional. I list the following issues: 1. The flat stones you laid are uneven and irregular. The foundation for the stones, especially under the walkway to the Gazebo, was improperly prepared and the stones will certainly settle. In fact it looks to me like they have already begun to do so. 2. The raised beds are uneven, crooked and unlevel. The first bed is the worst of the three and the most visible. 3. There are unsightly cement and mortar stains all over many of the pre-existing pave stones, some as much as ten feet away from the actual work area. 4. There are unsightly mortar stains on the face of many (if not most) of the stones in the raised beds. 5. So far I have found at least 4 breaks in my irrigation system, all of which appear to be due to careless demolition work. And this is in addition to the break in the water line (a water line that I pointed out to you before the work ever began) at the beginning of the job. Your overall lack of supervision of this job and especially of your hard working but inexperienced and largely incompetent helper is, in my opinion, inexcusable. And even more so when he was left without the proper tools with which to work. You assured me at the beginning that you worked only one job at a time -- something that clearly turned out to be a blatant untruth. Furthermore, your eye for the aesthetics of a job was a severe disappointment. Had I not “interfered” fairly regularly the job would have looked even shoddier than it currently does. You were NOT the low bidder on this job. You were only a couple hundred dollars lower than the high bidder and quite a bit higher than the low bidder. I chose you for this work because of the very high rating you had on Angie’s List. In retrospect, it is a mystery to me how you got such a high rating. You certainly will not get such a rating from me, nor will I be able to recommend your work to anyone I know.and quot; The above letter only outlines the most egregious of the problems with the final work. There were many other issues too numerous to list here -- some of which I caught and made him redo and many of which I clearly did not catch before it was too late. I will never do business with this company again and I strongly advise others to do likewise
Profesional services were provided, the contractor provided recommendations based on their experience. The project was completed on time. The area was left clean upon completion. The price was fair and reasonable for the services provided.
Great. They were pretty busy (lots of people investing in home upgrades during the pandemic since they spend some much time there) but got my project going pretty quickly and got it done in a few days including finishing/painting work. They're also really fair. The job was quoted and contracted at a given price but when they began doing the work, they realized that the work wouldn't require as much labor or material as expected and they offered to adjust the price a fair amount without my even hinting about it. Also, I love the contract they use. It is simple but detailed - it covers everything it should (insurance, workers' comp, etc.) but in a way that is easy to understand
I was very pleased with my experience working with Mark's Builders! Dustin showed up right on time and got to work immediately. He listened to my specifications and executed my vision efficiently and professionally. He made great recommendations and went above and beyond in many ways. I'll be recommending Mark's Builders to all of my friends from now on. A+ work
Tommy was actually referred to me by another Angie's List sprinkler guy Dale Johnson. Dale was too busy to get back ot my small repair. Tommy White assessed the system and recommended repairs. He was quickly able to troubleshoot problems with the controller system and recommended replacement. He also repaired a break in the line, which I thought was the only problem, but the controller was also bad. He performed the work quickly and efficiently . He also recommended some small and minor fixes to the system to improve performance (the original contractor had done a really crap job!). I thought the amount charged was more than fair and Tommy is a really nice guy

Well, frankly I was disappointed as I found sloppy work. Not what I expected. I counted over 2 dozen times they shot the nail in inaccurately sometimes missing the stud not but a fraction on an inch but by 2 - 4 inches. Equally surprising was how much of the paint was slopped so poorly that the colts dripped over each other & my neighbors joked about these guys being hungover or something..2
Don't remember the exact amount spent after the deal. Handyman Connection is helpful since they have lots of craftsmen available, but they can be a little pricey. I believe the handyman initially made a mistake with the assembly and thus had to take a lot of it apart and start over again. Though it's possible it was from bad directions, it was a little frustrating and meant that the job took longer than expected. I also recall having to reschedule due to conflicts on Handyman Connection's end, and having a miscommunication about the scheduling on the day the handyman had to return to complete the job (he did not call when he said he would to let us know when he would be coming or was on his way). But, he was always very friendly nice to work with, as is the office

Rick and his friendly crew did a great job at a price I was happy with. When they were finished, Rick requested that we walked the area to make sure everything I had wanted to be done was completed. I liked that piece of professionalism.
