Actually, I"d give them an A+. They were amazing. They were extremely knowledgeable but did not try to 'push' anything on me. They did what I asked and made suggestions and provided options. IT was higher end b/c I wanted to seal my ducts, which are old. After they completed their work, they re-tested and found my efficiency had improved 40%. My gas bills dropped accordingly. I didn't do this to save money, but to do my part for improving energy use in a 50+ year old house, but the drop in costs is a nice bonus. I'd highly recommend them, as it's hard to find folks as knowledgeable and honest to do this sort of work!

Epie's Electric Services
He would not tell me how much he charged by the hour or job when he was here, and refused to give me a bill before he left. He still has not shown me the receipts from home depot for parts, and seemingly has charged and exorbitant amount for the work he did do. It took him six hours to do work that seemingly could be done in 2. The two bath stoppers he installed, both do not work, and the insulation he put on the window has since come off, I had to have a neighbor help me put it back on.

We met with Charlie Whigham on August 8th. to discuss replacing our old windows and Storm Windows with a more energy efficient product. Charlie was a very pleasant person with an outstanding personality. He spoke often of his parents, which impressed my wife! Charlie told us all about his product and then continued with a demonstration. We were sold at that point and signed a contract, with the understanding that we would not pay him a penny until we were completely satisfied! He explained to us that he would send someone to measure the windows and that he would call before he came out. In a couple of days he called and we set a time for this to be done. He came on the day planned and then told us that it would take about two weeks for the windows to come in. This to went as planned. He called and told us they were in the warehouse and they came out the next day and installed them. We could not believe that they installed 22 windows in one day. They worked until they had them all installed and everything cleaned up. These guys were amazing. They told us that the insulation people would be here the next day and they were. There again, they did a masterful job. We could not be happier with our windows. It was then that we wrote them a check. Nothing paid until we were satisfied, just like Charlie said, Our windows are beautiful. They changed the appearance of our home for the better. Now my wife doesn't want to cover them up with window treatments. She loves them that much. We have had visitors who say that our house feels cooler and we believe they are right. We can hold our hand up to the door glass going out to the deck and feel lots of heat. We can do that to the kitchen window, which is on the same wall and we don't feel any heat at all. This is amazing! If you need new windows, call Charlie at Aladdin!! We love ours.

However, I was not pleased by their lacking clean-up. Scattered blown insulation had fallen on my clothes in the walk-in closet, where the attic access is located. I was surprised that they did not take measures to prevent that from occurring. I found staples in the closet floor carpet below where they had stapled the insulation tent. And the screen was not put back on the window used to bring in the insulation blower.

Initial sales presentation was a painfully long planned presentation, only to reveal that they didn't have anything which would match our existing trim. The sales manager came out to offer a line which he had been happy with at a previous employer, and was trying to convince the owners to add to the portfolio. We bought. One hitch is that 6 of the proposed windows were encased in a rock facing which was going to make replacing easy, but would destroy parts of the facing. We removed those windows from the quote. The installation crew was quite good, fast and professional. And we have since used Taylor to insulate our attic. And now the glitch bit: When calling in for service on a failed seal on one of the windows, we got a surreal runaround. The primary contact for service is routed to a person who continually neglected to take down our current contact information. This led to over two weeks of many calls, with absolutely zero response from Taylor. After an initial nasty review here on Angies list, we were contacted by a Taylor customer management contact. After this point, contacts have been swift, the initial service check has been pleasant, the warranties check out, and the replacement procedure has started. Otherwise, we are quite happy with them, and I'm rewriting this review, as well as upgrading the ratings to represent the current situation, with a bit of a dent in the ratings because of the annoyance factor.

Recent Review: Marco provided a very detailed and complete estimate of work needed and Lino and Team did an incredible job. Lino was very professional and detail oriented making sure that we were completely happy. They showed up at the same time everyday, 8:30am and worked until 6-7pm weather permitting. Even worked on Saturday to complete the job on time! His team did a great job on the house, trim, windows, sealing, priming and painting. No surprises with the final bill, Lino discussed any extra work needed up front. We will use them again! This is the 1st time I have used a contractor for any service that went 100% smoothly with no worries. They did not leave the house until we had the final walk through and were happy!

Recent Review: After I contacted Earthly Matters, they sent Pat Winchester to inspect the garage and provide a quote. Mr. Winchester showed up within 48 hours and at the scheduled time. The quote seemed reasonable and I know Earthly Matters had a good reputation in my neighborhood and on Angie's List, so I engaged the company. Pat was able to schedule the work crew within the time frame he promised and the crews showed up on time. The work took two days as expected and the outcome is terrific. They did everything I expected and even took pictures of the repairs in progress for me to submit to my insurance company. I think Earthly Matters is extremely professional and I will certainly use them for future painting projects.

Recent Review: We purchased a new home in May. The 17 year old home was my wife's dream home. When we looked at the home, we uncovered that three Palladian (circle top) windows in the front dormers were rotten. They were very nice windows when new with real wood mullions separating each pane of insulated glass. However, the mullions had rotted over the course of the years to the point that you could see light through the wood. After we moved in, we started the process of trying to find a contractor to supply new windows. I checked with big companies like Anderson and Marvin, and the prices I received were truly outrageous ($4000 PER window). Using Angie's List, I stumbled upon a few window contractors who were local and offered much better pricing. North Georgia Replacement Windows sent Chuck Wheat who came with a sample of the windows they manufactured. The Precision Millworks window North Georgia Replacement Windows uses is a milled PVC product with applied PVC grills on the inside and outside of the glass. When I heard PVC I was happy as I did NOT want to deal with wood rot EVER again. Before talking with Chuck, other companies had suggested new wood windows or wood clad in aluminum, neither of which I really wanted. Because our community is covenant controlled, I needed to make sure the new window would look as much like the old window. The HOA was more lenient than some and said that as long as they looked the same from the street, I'd be OK. They didn't have to be EXACT replicas. However, I could not get away with the "grill between the glass." I needed to have grills on the OUTSIDE of the glass. North Georgia was able to replicate the original grills almost perfectly, and they were much wider than "normal" window grills. North Georgia Replacement Windows was the first company to suggest I do a full frame replacement versus just a sash replacement. As the windows, sills, and trim had failed some time ago, there was a concern the FRAMES might not be in good shape. Better to do a full frame replacement and be safe than pull the sash out and find out the frame was bad at that time. These windows are fixed and cannot be opened, so we had no easy way of checking the frames. After seeing Chuck's product, I made sure to ONLY look at milled PVC replacement windows. There were other companies I was checking, and I eliminated two of them because when I asked questions regarding installation, I received cursory answers that "we do a good job" and "we never have problems." I wanted assurance the windows would be properly installed, flashed, and caulked, and Chuck was able to give those assurances. Plus, North Georgia Replacement Windows' warranty was really unmatched with a lifetime service warranty, so if the windows weren't installed properly or were not, perhaps caulked properly, North Georgia Replacement Windows will take care of it, The window warranty is very nice as well with 20 years against glass failure and 25 years against PVC issues. North Georgia Replacement Windows uses something called the Super Seal system that is supposed to be the best in the business for sealing in the Argon gas between the panes and keeping out moisture. North Georgia Replacement Windows also uses QUAD sealers. I started using these myself in place of normal caulk. I've found the product to be superior without being that much more expensive. It is instantly water proof but does require some time to cure before painting, but it should remain permanently flexible. North Georgia Replacement Windows will also "price lock" any window customer so that the next time you buy windows, you are locked in at whatever the prices were when you bought your FIRST set of windows. I'll attach some photos of the before windows and the after. I would have no hesitation using this company for windows again in the future.

Recent Review: Called Marc for a quote on a replacement window and some replacement doors. Very prompt in his response and came to my house. At one point, I considered replacing all of my windows and he was more than accommodating on suggesting manufacturers and getting me quotes. I eventually settled on a plan for repairing and extending the life of my existing windows. He promised the job complete in two days and it was. His crew was methodical and meticulous.... and they knew what they were doing. Jeff, the foreman, had a plan from start to finish and everything turned out great! A great experience and I wouldn't hesitate a second to take them on again.

Recent Review: My past projects included: The demolition of an inefficient built in large fireplace and accompanying rock faced chase. This was a difficult project as it involved repairing the roof, rebuilding the wall, and matching the exterior log siding to the house. My old log siding is a different size than today's and hard to come by. But he did it! It matches perfectly. The finished project was one of the deciding factors by the city in listing CWG on their list of preferred providers. The demolition and rebuild of an upstairs small bathroom. CWG did it all... installed a new energy efficient window, replaced the failing roof over the bathroom, installed the Neo shower, etc. What an improvement! I listed the project on HGTV's 'Rate My Space' and got great reviews. Encouraged by the experience and results, I moved onto the next project... The demolition of and rebuild of an unused sunroom into to a fully functional office. It involved building a new wall and the installation of exterior log siding on the outside to match the rest the house. He also rebuilt the remaining walls from scratch and installed surrounding energy efficient windows. I also submitted this room to HGTV and received numerous outstanding reviews. Now, I was on a roll... I had found a contractor I could trust. Unexpectedly a pipe burst in the downstairs bathroom and blasted water most of the day before found out about it. I shut off the water and called Gurdon (at 11:30 pm!). He came out the next day and assessed the damages. The event escalated my remodel plans for the bathroom. Why do it twice? So, we worked up a plan to repair and renovate. Within three days when the house was dried and ready for construction, he and his crew were on the job. It was amazing! I have never had a project of this size and intricacy. Yet, Gurdon handled everything; building permits, help with insurance claims (he has an insurance background) etc. He worked with me to compare prices for the needed materials and appliances to help keep costs low without compromising quality. The new claw foot tub was now positioned in front of the old window. Thus, he installed a new tempered window to meet code and safety. He repaired all structural issues and even matched the 20 year old pine floors to the rest of the house. The job was done in record time, and it is beautiful! Again I sent pictures to HGTV 'Rate My Space'. They featured the bathroom on their main page for several months resulting in numerous, outstanding (I love it!) comments. I am gearing-up for my next project in 2016. Know who I am going to call?

Super Service Award Recent Review: I was very pleased with Magnum Gutters and the customer service they provided. I had two sections of gutters that were regularly overflowing anytime it rained. I submitted a request for an inspection/estimate through Angie's list. I head back from Malcolm within 24 hours and we had the estimate scheduled. I can't remember the guy's name who did the inspection, but he was very prompt and courteous. I was happy with the estimate and went ahead and scheduled the service to replace the gutters. This is where I was impressed the most. There was pretty heavy rains the day before the service was scheduled to occur (2/3). Malcolm called me to let me know that they were running behind due to the weather and asked if they could reschedule the service to 2/4. I've had a lot of experiences recently where repairmen will schedule a service and never show up or call to let me know they're not coming. It was refreshing to have someone actually call and provide customer service. The crew showed up on 2/4 to work as promised. They were courteous, professional, and quiet enough that they didn't disturb my 1 year old even though they were working just outside his window. They finished all of their work in less than 2 hours. I would highly recommend Magnum Gutters to anyone.

Recent Review: Awesome!. He was professional yet personable. His communication was honest regarding window of time for delivery given traffic patterns etc. He checked after his crew and they cleaned up well after the job was done. On a side note, we have recently moved from NorthCarolina and Phil was just personable and helpful in matters that had nothing to do with the actual insulation installation which just showed a kindred soul. Having said that I assure you the job he did was A grade. How do I know ? since his guys did the insulation I have had electricians,plumbers and pest control guys go to the attic(for other stuff) The first thing they said when they got down that ladder"whoever did your insulation,did a really good job" :)

It was an outstanding experience. They did what they said they were going to do. Their price was competitive, and they were very professional. They were punctual and focused on their work too. They did it at the end of the year, and they knew that we had to get it done by a certain date, but I had to make 3 calls after the payments and the work was completed to submit to our credit. It took a lot to get what I needed. Everything worked out though.
