Recent Review: In early October, we had several companies provide quotes for a full exterior paint job, to include a number of carpentry repairs, as well as new gutters. We went with Riverside painting, and couldn't have been happier with the results. The team of 6 people that came out arrived at 8:15a every day and worked until 6p for an full week. They were all polite, and were very responsive to special requests and questions. Shortly after work began, it was discovered that the siding was damaged in a number of places, and that repainting these areas would only be a short term solution. As a result, we decided to go ahead and reside the whole house with Hardiplank. As with most jobs, a majority of the work goes into the preparation, and we thought the crew did a fantastic job. Much of the scraping and preparation was done by hand, and involving a lot of time-consuming detail work. The window caulking/glazing and carpentry repairs -- which included many sections of soffit, fascia, and door frames -- looked great when they were finished. This included removal, power-washing, painting, and reinstallation of all of the storm windows. They also helped reconstruct a damaged pediment above the door, installed a new front door for us (purchased separately), and installed new screen in the back porch (again, we provided the screen). With the new siding, new paint, new gutters, and all of the repairs, the exterior of the house was genuinely transformed. The only item which we were not happy with was some masonry repairs that were done to fix some damaged mortar and bricks. We got the impression that the person that they called to do this work was not their regular person, as both the supervisor and crew chief involved also agreed the work was not up to their standard. They have promised to return and redo the masonry work. All in all, a very positive experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Recent Review: I highly recommend using Visionaire Windows. It's a family run business with the estimator also part of the install team. You'll never have the problem of being promised something during the estimate that the installer can't deliver. They replaced all my windows as a new install reframing with new cellular PVC. On site they were careful to protect the furnishings and made sure to clean inside and out after they were done. I'm very pleased with the results.

Recent Review: The job could not have gone better. Should you choose to go with Findlay, I would highly recommend Steve Rubenstein to do the installation. Steve has been doing this for a long time and is knowledgeable and thorough. The regular windows took 2 days to install and the garden window took a half day by itself. The regular windows arrived in about a week, while the garden window was custom and took an additional 2 weeks to arrive. There were no surprises during the installation. Steve and his crew inspected all the framing as the old windows were taken out, looking for any rot that needed to be repaired (none, thankfully). Make sure you get the exterior framing wrapped, since that will seal the wood and eliminate any problems down the road. A couple of days after the installation, we noticed one pane with a slight chip and one screen with a very small tear (both appeared to be factory defects and not installation-related). A call to Steve got replacements ordered, which arrived in about a week. Steve let me know when they were in and he came the next Saturday to install them (in 15 minutes). We are completely satisfied with Findlay's performance on this job. We will next work with them to replace our front door, sidelights and large palladium window in a couple of months. I will offer up bother review after that's done. These folks are knowledgeable, thorough, fair and very good.

Recent Review: Perfection Siding came out to the house and quoted me on a cost to replace my windows. He then came out a second time to show me the actual window sample and answered all of my wife's and my questions. He then came back a third time with his installer (whom has over 15 years experience) to measure the EXACT size for every window. When the windows were delivered to the installer Mr. Morton (the owner) held off on installing them because the roofing was still in process and he didn't want to rush the job and have an accident happen to our windows while the roofers did their thing. It's the little things that make all the difference on a remodeling job and it nice to know that there are contractors out there that put quality and customer service ahead of their own profit. Once the windows were being installed I was completely put at ease. The installer worked continuously for two days until the job was done. We had one window that was tricky to install and we really should have been charge extra for it ( it required about 3 hours work) but they installed and we have already seen a reduction in the amount of time our furnace runs. We LOVE our new windows!

Recent Review: I recommend ARS. I am very happy with the quality of the roof and the interior construction job they performed in creating a new skylight tunnel from my roof down through the attic and into the living room. I asked them to construct this new skylight tunnel to match an existing tunnel in the same room. It looks like they were both built at the same time and by the same crew. I think the new roof makes my house look almost like a new house. The difference is that dramatic. And I am relieved not to be worrying about where new water stains might show up in the next heavy rain. The roofers worked hard from morning till dusk over multiple days and they were very good about cleaning up after themselves. I have found barely a dozen single nails since the job was over. And I've looked carefully since my small children play around outside. Most of the ones I found came down my downspouts from the gutters after a hard rain. The reason I chose ARS over the one other reputable company from whom I got an estimate was because of David Bishop. He is knowledgable, efficient, and an extremely good communicator over phone and email. I appreciated that I could reach him via email with many follow up questions after his initial visit and estimate. He reworked the estimate as needed multiple times and was always very patient. At the conclusion of my job, he performed the final inspection and was as thorough in doing this. ARS was very competitive on price, ultimately, but I was willing to pay more if needed to get quality and reassurance. But I got a most competitive price and expert quality by going with David Bishop and ARS. Some minor criticisms: There were some organizational miscommunications in terms of scheduling my job and coordinating the different crews that needed to come to my house. It took them longer to get to my job (over a month) than I anticipated, but we were not in an emergency situation. Once the day was set, however, the crews were there when they said they would be and I was happy with the communication provided by Sonny, the foreman. He was very accessible and returned my calls promptly. He took care of the few concerns I had rapidly and completely. I did not realize at the time, but later remembered that I was not shown the rotten decking that they pulled from the roof. I was charged $225 for plywood to replace the rotted decking, but did not get a chance to verify that this was necessary work with my own eyes. I would have liked to been shown the wood so that I knew the plywood charges were necessary. There was also a discrepancy between the linear feet calculation used to charge me for installation of new drip edge. I was overcharged initially (by 80-100 linear feet at $2 per foot), but I caught this when I remembered seeing a different linear feet measurement in an earlier estimate. At the time of my final inspection, ARS rechecked the measurement and credited me back the money that I overpaid. Overall, given the importance and expense of this project, I feel that we got our money's worth and went with an excellent company in terms of workmanship and customer service. Highly recommended.

Recent Review: I lived here through the gutting and reworking of my Master Bath, construction and outfitting of my Master Closet, the gutting and reworking of the Hall (Jims) Bath, the expansion of Jims Closet, Jims Coffee Closet, replacement of 7 Windows and demo, floor, wall, and door on Laundry/Utility Room. Jim is our room mate and master designer/ decorator of all the updates to our comfortable home When we, Mark and I, moved here the Master bath was a simple 6 X 9 - 3 piece. There was a 6 X 9 dressing area so we knocked out the wall and changed out the 3 piece for a corner soaker tub, a small corner shower and an over sized single vanity with storage pieces. The third 6 X 9 area was a small walk in closet. NOW : The small walk in closet became the prettiest shower I've ever had. Lovely linen like oversized ceremic tiles with small hexagon slate tiles on the ceiling and the floor, Most of one long wall is glass with no door and no sill at the entry. We installed some grab bars - I should say Florin installed the grab bars and did the shower construction and beautiful tiling. His attention to detail and making sure everything lined up perfectly keeps amazing me. There is a combo ceiling exhaust fan/heater and a single can light. We opted for a regular overhead shower and a hand held shower on a bar. The rest of the bath room came together perfectly. We have a new double vanity with a quartzite top, undermount sinks, single lever faucets, new mirrors. there is a smaller footprint but bigger interior soaker tub and all new reconfigured plumbing. The only hold up on the project was the additional plumbing, including upgrading cast iron to PVC, that needed to be done when we (I) changed the orientation of the tub and toilet. The only things we kept from our original bath were three wall light sconces and the almost new toilet. Dennis, Florin and the rest of the crew went out of their way making sure things were just right for me/us. MASTER CLOSET- Our fourth bedroom was a backup kid guest room and Marks closet dressing room from when he used to have to get dressed in the middle of the night. It was situated in between our Master Bdrm and Jims room. Florin knocked out the wall between the two closets, closed off the doorway and then partitioned off an addition to make a nice walk in closet for Jim and a super walk in closet connected by a brand new barn door type slider in the brand new doorway for me - and I got the double windows too. We have a combo of a couple furniture pieces and new built in shelves, drawers and hanging rods. JIMS BATHROOM - replaced tub & shower with a walk in shower with a floor to ceiling glass panel. Replaced the old vanity with a new large single sink vanity. Tiled with same Linen look ceramic tiles floor and walls to ceiling. Small slate hexagon tiles on shower floor. New mirror and light fixture. COFFEE CLOSET - the hall linen closet bumps up to shower water line so we had a water line run into the closet to hook into a coffee maker. Hot water for tea. Very handy. LAUNDRY/UTILITY/PANTRY - The original owner had made an opening between the Laundry room and the Family Room (our living room) and made a pass through with a bar top - there were some not very useful built in shelves so we had Florin tear it all out, close off the opening and install a bifold door. Then he replaced the black and white checked tile with some leftover tile from the bathrooms. We were able to combine some shelving and made more pantry space. And we don't have to look at it any more. Are we happy with our re-do - you bet! Do I recommend PHI - Dennis, Florin, Bennie, Danny, Ross, Tyler et all? You bet! Will we hire them again? You bet!

Recent Review: After much research, I decided to have MWT install 29 window replacements. Their quote was competitive and Marc had actually done installation work and understands the full installation process. Thus, his crew are seasoned veterans and all speak English. Most window companies will send out "salesman" that have no idea of how the window will be installed or who the installation crew is. Marc was thorough in his assessment of what needed to be done and made alterations based on my needs, The house has never felt better as the windows were installed and sealed expertly. Highly recommend !!!
