The sidewalk from my driveway to the front door of my rental property was collapsing into a sinkhole. I had this area repaired 15 years ago but the ground had continued to sink. Spoke with Danny on the phone about the problem. He went by the property the next day and called with description of his approach and an estimate. He was the first person to propose cutting the collapsing sidewalk into 4 equal sections and reusing the concrete (which was a good idea because the 20' section was intact with the exception of a crack in the middle.) I told him to send me a written proposal via email and said I was collecting other bids and would get back to him within a week. Danny followed up the next week and, by that time, his price was significantly lower than anyone else's - mostly because everyone else said they had to pour a new sidewalk - they couldn't reuse the existing one. I told him to go ahead. He emailed me a contract and I signed it electronically via email. He called the next day and said he was finished. I met him at the house the following day. The sidewalk looked great but a lot more of the yard was torn up than I had hoped would be. Of course, this was due to heavy equipment required to transport and pack the dirt. However, he had seeded and strawed the disturbed areas. In addition, he straightened a railroad tie retaining wall next to the driveway, which was adjacent to the sinkhole area. The only think I wasn't happy about was some damage to some metal edging around one of my beds but I was able to straighten it out myself. Overall, quick and complete work and I will consider using him on some future work. He was very friendly and professional.

This has really soured me on contractors once and for all!! So, we needed to have our driveway replaced, a side walked installed for handicapped access, and the whole yard re-landscaped and an old dead koi pond removed. The first time I spoke with them, everything went great. Dave was really excited with what we were wanting. I was glad that he was into using existing materials, including using parts of the old drive way to use as filler for the koi pond and create stepping stones. Because of our HOA needing completed jobs in short timeframes, we decided to parcel it up into several jobs. Dave sent me a sketch of what the final look of everything was going to be and said that when we start, we will decide on what to do when. After I finally got the go ahead from the HOA, I called Dave and said the job was a go ahead. He sent me an updated quote for everything instead of the first small jobs we agreed on. I reminded him and I though it was ok. After that, things got to be a nightmare. They came in and started to tear up my drive way and the old koi pond. They started to toss landscaping stones (the expensive ones, not old driveway) and of my bird baths into it and broke several other yard decorations. They ran heavy equipment all over existing landscaping, killing and destroying it. After the drive way was removed and they left the chunks just laying around (they were supposed to set them so they would not be tripped over), they left and did not come back for several weeks. I would call and would be given a time for it to be finished, but they would just not show up at all. Finally after several weeks, they came back to lay the forms. Not only did they not lay forms at all like we had agreed to, but they even broke my sprinkler lines. I even showed the guy the plans and he ignored them. Unfortunately, there was NO ONE on site that spoke any English and again, Dave or anyone at the office was available. They came the next day and tried to pour the cement, and I had to stop them before the truck arrived. I begged them to contact Pops and Dave, but no one again spoke any English and they all just left. Finally Dave came back out, agreed to fix sprinklers, agreed that the forms were WAY off and would be fixed immediately, and said that he would replace all the other busted yard decorations. He was glad I stopped them before the cement had been poured and that they had been able to stop the truck before it left the yard, so if there were any charges from it, Pops would be responsible, not me. It was really there error and I had really tried to get a hold of them for over 24hours in every way possible. He also said that as soon as the concrete was dried they would come back and level out the dirt that they had pushed back into big mounds and spread the mulch and correct the landscaping that they tore up. Well, Dave never came back, but his foreman did. said that they were there to finish up, but he just needed to grab the check first. He could not answer any questions, because he could not speak good English. I wrote the check and he left about 20min after that. Nothing was fixed, nothing was replaced, nothing was finished, nothing was reimbursed. I have chunks of concrete all over my yard that were never set and people just trip over all the time. The drive way (not even a year later) is literally just crumbling away. They did charge me extra for the cement truck and crew that left when they did not do the forms correct, though.

Sudlow Concrete
I recently had a lot of concrete work done at my Roswell home by Sudlow Concrete of Atlanta. The main part of the job was replacement of an aging, crumbling driveway. I also had the old sidewalk removed with anew one that would approach the entrance to my porch from a different direction. This change included the pouring of a new concrete step. They also removed an old hedge and large roots from a tree that had been removed last year. While waiting for my turn on their busy schedule, I decided to add to the project. This house didn?t even have so much as a concrete pad at the backdoor when I bought it. Although I had originally planned to add a deck, I decided to speak to Bill of Sudlow Concrete about adding a patio, and a second walkway along the side of the house from the patio to the driveway. All of this work is now completed, a couple of weeks earlier than I expected. Here are the most important things I can say about this experience: Everyone associated with the company was professional, polite, and very pleasant to work with. The employees who actually did the work were very conscientious and seemed to really care how everything was going to look when it was done. When I compared what I paid for this amount of work to the experiences of other people I know who?ve had recent concrete work done, I felt I got a great price. I honestly didn?t think I?d get so much for what I had to spend on this project. Everything looks great! I am so happy with the huge difference this has made in the appearance and livability of my home. I especially love the fact that my patio will not have to be re-stained every few years like a deck and, according to Bill, will last forty years! Hurray! Super happy and would highly recommend this company!

The entire project went very well. Phil Polak provided detailed descriptions and a sketch of everything that would be done. He also explained what to expect, including the materials used ,who would perform the labor, everything involved in taking down the existing walls, preparing the site for the new walls, installation of the walls, and clean-up. Phil walked me through a minor misunderstanding I had about the second wall and made a change to ensure that I was happy with the final results. I am very pleased with this project.

North Georgia Concrete
My driveway was cracked in many different places and had started to sink on either side causing the cracks to widen. The side walk leading to the entrance was also cracked and both surfaces had a very worn surface showing the granite rock. in addition I wanted a new sidewalk on the side of the home up to the back gate. I called several companies for estimates. Mike was the only one who provided me with a written estimate, a detailed description of the work to be done, the process to be used and a firm no nonsense quote. While we had a few delays due to weather Mike and I stayed in touch over several weeks. The weather in Georgia can change at any minute so we both knew the risks with such a project especially when all entrances to the home will be affected. The day finally arrived, the crew showed up as scheduled (early AM) and completely removed all the forty two year old concrete and debris. The next day, a larger crew arrived again early AM. They worked placing forms and preparing the surface dirt for the new concrete. The driveway was finished that same day even with a torrent rain shower. But the crew quickly covered their work with plastic to shield the fresh concrete from water damage. The crew was polite the foreman was exceptionally courteous and very capable in communicating with his workers. North Georgia Concrete was not the least cost route but their work and the finished product was well worth the cost. All through the process Mike was a pleasure to work with and always kept me informed. This was a big project and well worth taking the extra time to find the right contractor to do the work. This driveway will easily outlive me. I am very pleased with the job. Ron

Sudlow Concrete
We are very pleased with the result. It looks Fantastic. He does one job at a time and uses the same crew who where polite, courteous and efficient. Bill was there most of the time supervising, although they needed very little. After they finished they did a very good job cleaning up. I would(and have) recommended him to friends and neighbors.

Atlanta Concrete and Masonry,llc
Excellent job. Called Jesse on Monday and he fit me in on Friday! In addition to replacing the sidewalk, the company installed rebar into the adjoining sidewalk slabs to make sure this would not happen again. The sidewalk was also curved and he kept the line true to the curve. No mess in my yard either!

Sudlow Concrete
Very well. Before Sudlow was interviewed, our neighborhood assn. had a difficult time finding a company that would do the job or keep their appointments. Sudlow was direct, appropriately priced, and provided complete and competent service. They were in and out in 2 days after doing seven sidewalk sections. Beautiful result. We will definitely go with them again if we need more work done.

Recent Review: I had turnaround and sidewalk damage from having sinkholes repaired. I hired Mr. Scott to do the work. The concrete he put down has many unsightly dark spots. He said maybe it needed to dry out more. He said after 2 months he could pressure was it and put down stain or sealer. It has been 3 months and no improvement in dark spots. I have tried to get him to commit to a time when he would come back and work on it, but he quit responding.
