DM Deco Design

I highly recommend DM Deco Design. I have used them for multiple projects, including design and remodel of master bathroom, as well as interior painty. Lissette has a keen sense of design and style, and brings fresh ideas. They are very, very professional, and take pride in doing a first rate job.

Both Todd (the owner) and Sue (the designer) returned calls promptly and were fantastic to work with. Sue's assistant came up with a design plan that I could never have dreamed of. The project estimate was incredibly detailed and all work was performed to budget (actually a little under budget). Their bid was not the cheapest I had -- but they are well worth the money, the workmanship is top-notch. There were some minor snafu's during the project that were handled quickly and efficiently. (it rained in the bedroom during roof construction) The guys working for Todd are very professional and CLEAN -- everyday, the worksite was tidied up -- very much appreciated! Todd takes great care to explain things to the homeowner and is very accessible. I now have a new beautiful bedroom and bath that is the envy of all my friends. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Todd to others - and as soon as I recover financially, I plan to use Todd for future projects.

There is no limit to the praise I could place on B.C.M. London for the work they did, from start to finish, on the complete overhaul of my master bathroom, master closet and master bedroom. Starting with the proposal/contract there was complete details, transparency, and adherence to agreements. The quality of the work staff and work done was top notch. The demeanor of all the crew was professional, respectful, and responsible. I am retired so was around the work site a lot and saw the consistent quality from plumbers, electricians, drywallers, demo crew etc. The pricing of the work, after comparison to numerous quotes, was fair and reasonable. Salar Sayari and his family should be proud of this business. I give them the highest recommendation possible.

What I had done: 2 bathrooms remodeled with 1 being more ADA compliant. Because both bathrooms were done at the same time, I had to move out during the renovation. I did come by almost every day to check on progress. RE: estimate - Their estimate was the highest. The final bill was actually lower - I chose midrange on many of the allowances. You can provide some of the items and they only charge for installation. The value was excellent. Work Ethic: The remodels occurred during the 2 blizzards we had so the work was not completed on the original schedule. I can't report on whether they were late getting to the house since I wasn't here. When I checked the house, the tools were neatly placed, covers over the doorways to prevent dust spread. When errors occurred - wrong tile, wrong trim color - they were quick to get it fixed. Good response time on e-mail communications - if on the weekend it would be 1st thing Monday morning. There was a quick response to 1 door not closing properly (I didn't find until recently since room not in use until I place new flooring) - fixed quickly. Overall - very pleased with the remodel.

I have had several projects completed by Hodges Residential from a small ceiling repair to remodeling a bathroom. The most recent project being a sliding door removal and installation of french doors. The work is top notch, and the team is always extremely professional and courteous. I have had several compliments on the upgrades and am looking forward to completing future projects with Hodges Residential.

Intown Craftsmen

Other contractors turned me away when they heard my budget for this project and refused to provide me with an estimate before hearing my budget. Intown Craftsmen gave me pricing upfront and answered all my cost questions before knowing how much money I could spend. They remained enthusiastic about my project with me throughout the entire process, completed work quickly in a sensitive time frame, resolved issues quickly and to my satisfaction as they arose, and did good quality work. My only (small) complaint is that cleanup of sheet rock dust was not well done and a closet was omitted from one of the bedrooms, however they quickly resolved this issue and the sheet rock dust is only a very small issue. I am really pleased overall with the work of this contractor, their honestly, and their friendly and good customer service and would definitely enjoy using them in the future. I just can't thank them enough for the care they took to make certain I was happy with the work and for helping me to create two lovely children bedrooms on a small budget.

The owner is Sam McGraft. He does a lot of outdoor work. He is pretty responsive and did what he said he was going to do. He came when he said he would be there. He gave us a quote for a bathroom remodel. We are going to use him for the bathroom as soon as the checking account recovers from the floors. He seems to cover a wide variety of services. The floors look really good. There were a couple of little things and he had his guys back out within 48 hours to take care of them. We had gotten two quotes and he was in line with the other guy.

The guest bathroom project - in 2006/2007 went so smoothly and the finished product looked so good I couldn't stand that my guest bathroom looked better than my master... So 2008 saw me calling ADand B again to COMPLETELY redo my master bedroom, bathroom and closet. Again they were the most professional group I have ever had the privilege of working with - and I have had a lot of work done on my house over the years - it was built in 1975! From start to finish the job went smoothly and and in a timely manner. Dale was extremely open to all my design requests and he encouraged me to find the design elements that I liked so that the space would truly feel like it was mine. In the end I got exactly the master suite I wanted. Thank you Dale for being so wonderful to work with - and the crew was awesome too. The communication notebook was a wonderful tool. If I didn't get a chance to see the crew on a given day - the notes were always there and I never felt left out of the loop. Because of this wonderful service, ADand B was the first place I called when I had a water line break in my laundry room and flood my basement. They came to my rescue and after remediation to dry everything out, they again helped me redesign my laundry room and basement. Dale was able to show me exactly how to maximize my basement space to incorporate a total living space including a kitchenette area and craft room. This companies design talents never cease to amaze me. I am so grateful for finding ADand B that I am now trying to figure out when I can have them redo my kitchen!

From start to finish, we could not have asked for a better job! Affordable Remodeling came in with the lowest quote and exceeded our expectations for what could be done in our house. Shane Kemp was good to provide prompt, detailed quote, and offer sources for best prices on items. Crew arrived on April 27, and was quick to cover all affected areas with plastic to protect household items. Demo went quickly, and each day crew was on site, they were good to work quietly and efficiently, cleaning up after each day's work. Shane stayed in communication, providing us timetable of when to expect workers and scope of project progress. Crew finished on May 13, and we could not be happier with the finished project. We now have a beautiful kitchen, master bath, master bedroom, and even a refreshed garage landing - all thanks to Affordable Remodeling.

JNO Handyman Services & Painting
5.0
We purchased the 8 hours of painting for $199 by JNO Handyman services, deal. Jerry was quick to reach out to us once we had bought the deal and continued to communicate when necessary. I assumed Jerry would come over before the day of the job, to look at the scope of the work (and because I am a type A personality) so was nervous as to how it would turn out, as he did not. However, I had no reason to worry. Jerry was able to give us good advise on the time and paint it would take to cover the area we wished to be painted in our communications and coming out to the house prior was not necessary. Jerry did a thorough job of painting our bedroom and we are pleased with the outcome. He had all his own equipment and goodies and set up quickly and started work soon after arriving. Jerry works methodically and precisely and completed our bedroom (400sft) within the allotted 8 hours. Jerry had to apply two coats of paint and we used three different colors, which added to the work. We will definitely be using Jerry again.

This was an excellent experience. The existing drapes in the master bedroom and office had not been professionally installed (about 7 years ago) - the drapery rod in the bedroom came crashing down and I couldn't open the drapes in the office. I hired Beth to have the drapes in the bedroom and office professionally installed with proper hardware so that I could easily open and close the drapes as well as creating a custom window treatment in the master bath. Beth brought in Keith Freeman ( a master installer!) to measure and re-install the existing drapes. Beth provided choices for the traverse rods that would work with my drapes and once I decided on the hardware for both rooms, she brought in Keith to provide the exact measurements for all of the window treatments, which included Vienna fabric shades in the master bedroom and bath (these were expensive at $2,700 but there were exactly what I wanted). After giving Beth an idea of the style and type of treatment I wanted for the master bath, Beth brought in several examples of what I requested, so it was easy for my to pick out my favorites. The day of installation went very smoothly due to several factors: Keith's installation experience; Beth's attention to detail; having Keith come in at the beginning of the process to get all of the correct measurements. I appreciated Beth for her professionalism, keeping in touch to confirm appointments, keeping me informed of the prices throughout the process so that there were no surprises. I would highly recommend Beth and Keith!

The installer arrived on time to do the work. When he was finished I inspected the cabinet and immediately noticed an extremely strong odor coming from the drawers. When I asked about it the installer said that the smell was from a cleaning solution he had just used to clean the drawers and it would go away in a day or so. However after he left and I started putting my clothes away I noticed that the drawers were full of a dusty substance so there was no way he had cleaned inside them. After weeks went by and the smell did not go away I called Closets By Design and expressed my concerns about the odor which smelled like the formaldehyde from the frogs I had once dissected in a high school science class. Stephanie came to my house to check out the problem and said that she could smell the odor but that she was used to the smell because it smelled like the workshop where the cabinets were made. She agreed to talk with someone back at the office and get back with me. When we talked again she said that the cabinet/drawers must have been made from a new batch of melamine and it would take about six months for the smell (which was out gassing of formaldehyde) to go away. She also said that they could make cedar insets to go in the drawers to mask the smell and if that did not work they could try covering the exposed particle board on the bottom of the drawers to see if that helped. I chose to wait it out hoping that the smell would go away. I tried many things to solve the problem like using baking soda in the drawers to absorb the smell, leaving the drawers outside in the sun every day that I could and storing them in my basement until six months had gone by. Nothing worked. When I tried storing my clothes in the cabinet they soaked up the smell and I had to wash them before they could be worn. The smell gave me headaches and caused irritation of my eyes and throat. Finally I decided to have a formaldehyde test done and results showed that after more than six months the levels in the cabinet were still elevated. I called Closets by Design again and talked to Claire. I explained the problem and asked her to have Stephanie call me. I told her that I wanted them to remove the cabinets. She said that Stephanie would call. It never happened. What should have been a positive experience of getting a new cabinet for my closet turned out to be a major headache in more ways than one. For anyone wanting to have a closet system or cabinet installed be sure to ask about the materials used by the company before you make a purchase. Make sure they use materials that do not reek of formaldehyde. To deal with my problem my husband removed the cabinet from the closet and we will be replacing it with a quality cabinet built with environmentally safe materials.

Project took almost twice as long as originally told. He went on vacation for 3 weeks during the construction period and never mentioned this at the time of accepting the job that he was doing this. Billed for a number of items that were not outlined n the original contract and did not submit change orders for these items for us to consider whether or not to approve, and has now tried to file a lien for those charges. In addition, one of the items that he did was to build out our master bedroom over our garage. He used spray foam insulation rather than standard fiberglass insulation in the roof, and as a result, as I now know, although spray foam insulation is a good insulator, it is VERY poor at soundproofing. Being that this is a bedroom on the top floor, I feel he was very negligent in installing this type of insulation as we now have to wear earplugs on rainy nights because you can hear every drop of rain as it falls, quite loudly. Our childrens' rooms are also on the same floor but had existed previously, and are completely silent during rain as they have the standard fiberglass insulation. I would strongly suggest that you keep looking for another contractor.

Recent Review: I have worked with the Victoria team on three major projects, full basement remodel, full kitchen and laundry room remodel and multi level deck project. Each project has gone very smoothly from scope/contracting through execution and end of job. Obstacles did arise on each of these major projects, as they always do in remodeling, however the experience and excellent communication from this team allowed us to discuss solutions and keep the project on track. Because this team has consistently delivered a great remodeling experience and project outcomes I have just contracted my fourth project with the Victoria team, a second floor remodel. This is an A+ team that I highly recommend.

Recent Review: Poor Cesar and his crew had the hardest time refinishing and painting the kitchen cabinet because of the rain. But they arrived ever morning on time and, using my garage instead of the “Not Sunny” outside they got everything finished. They installed new a new range hood and ceiling light, and at the end went through the kitchen and cleaned it. I will be calling them back for several more remodeling items we are planning. Cesar is meticulous, straight forward, and if it can be done he will.

Recent Review: Affordable Home Concepts, led by Adam Dunton, recently completed an addition to our home. In approximately 3 months, they added: master bedroom, mater bathroom, walk-in closet, kitchen nook, office nook and a new roof for our existing house. Adam and his crew were friendly, kept the job site neat and were very considerate of us as we were living in the home while the work was being done. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and felt that we were kept well informed throughout the entire process. Adam is a hard worker, takes pride in his work and wants to do a good job for his customer. We discussed a budget and allowances were given for certain items. Adam guided us on where to look for flooring, bathroom vanities and closet organizers ? we picked it out, he purchased and then installed. He also brought samples of some products (ex: roofing tiles). There were a lot of decisions to be made and he made the process as easy as can be. Most of the renovated space had hardwood floors installed and they did a great job matching our existing hardwood floors. I was also very pleased that we were able to keep our exposed brick in the office ? Adam realized that this was important to us and made it happen! Adam built a custom bench for our kitchen nook and exceeded my expectations on his craftsmanship. He also installed a great closet organizer. Overall we were very pleased with the finished product and would highly recommend Affordable Home Concepts!

Recent Review: After reading so many great reviews of Georgia Contractor Group, we decided to have them take a look at our job. We met with Mark, who gave us a firm idea of how long our project would take. We looked over the proposals and costs and then met with Mark and Ron (who was out of town when we initially wanted to meet). We tweaked a few things and signed the agreement (I was glad to see it was an AIA format, which is fair to both parties). They then measured and prepared blueprints for the entire house. Our original intent was to redo the kitchen, replace the engineered floor with a hardwood floor, widen doorways and install pocket doors. We ended up adding one fireplace and redoing another, in addition to relocating and widening a stairway. Then we had a screened porch enclosed and made a four season room. Ron also designed and installed a pantry and laundry room in an existing space. Throughout the process, Ron was able to take our concepts to a sketch, and after changes, to the finished product. It looks amazing! Ron worked with us to make our home handicapped accessible without a sterile feeling. He went above and beyond to find what we needed. Ron has an outstanding attention to detail. It is to his credit that everyone who worked on our home treated our home with great care. Suppliers that we met with spontaneously stated that he is very transparent and always works to make his clients happy. Ron is readily accessible by email, text, or cell phone. He sends you a schedule of what will happen on a day-to-day basis during construction. During our first meeting with Ron, he made a statement that told me a lot about his character: “There are a lot of good craftsmen out there. I don’t want someone in your house that I would not want around my wife and kids.” After reviewing his concepts and proposal, that pretty much decided things for me. I would use GCG again; I would not even consider another contractor.
