About 10 years ago we had a substantial front porch added to our home. At the time we were very pleased with the outcome. The floor boards are a composite material, (similar to Trex). For a while now we noticed that one of the floor boards closest to the faceplate had started bowing and warping. After the warping became significant enough to concern us we decided to engage a contractor to repair it. I reached out on Angie’s list and received several responses. Perfect. During the contractor selection process we quickly determined that the root cause of the bowing and warping of the floorboard was a symptom of a larger issue with the underlying porch frame. We selected StoneCrest Custom Homes for the following reasons, 1. Phil - He was our point of contact. A), He responded promptly with the quote. B), He, (always), answered his phone. C) He was flexible in scheduling the job. D), He visited the site several times a day, (We have Ring). He is a down to earth guy who says what he does and does what he says. A rarity. 2. StoneCrest Custom Homes Crew – I’m sure that in comparison our repair project wasn’t big, but his crew worked diligently and quickly to make the needed repairs. They were friendly and gave me confidence they knew what they were doing. 3. Flexible – As is the case with many home improvement/repair projects the scope of our project changed. We found that in order to get our porch back to a good place we needed to not make the same mistakes the original contractor made. StoneCrest Custom Homes was flexible and reasonable in accommodating the changes in scope. 4. Cost – We added scope to the project and the price was still reasonable. Would I use them again? Most assuredly. When we first reached out to engage a contractor we thought it would be a simple quick repair. Then we learned just how close the porch was to total collapse. Now we have confidence that our porch is structurally sound and we are looking forward to many years of continued enjoyment.
