It started off good, the company was responsive and seemed professional however, the work was substandard. They did try and fix some of the substandard work however, they did not or could not fix it all. The installation of the stairs was horrible, the stairs are installed in two parts and the cuts of the two parts were uneven, and two much space between the end of the cut and the adjacent wall. They removed areas of quarter round moulding and did not replace it until I pointed it out. in the main rooms where they removed the the carpet and exsisting quarter round they replaced the quarter round with the wrong size so now at the thresholds where one room meets another and the quarter round should connect it doesn't and it looks tacky, cheap and it very noticeable. I asked them to replace the quarter round to the correct size but they showed me where they cut the floors to short and if they went with the correct size moulding I would have exposed floor in some areas and some of the cuts were jagged and not straight, it looked rushed and as if someone cut some of the boards with a hand saw. I showed them how my other floors were all cut even and aligned evenly and not jagged and how they all came up to the fall and then had quarter round moulding unlike the way they did it where the cuts were uneven, and did not come up to any of my walls and if they had not used a larger size quarter round you would have seen the spacing. also, they used nails in in the stairs that were visible and tacky looking and tried to use a colored sharpie to hide it. I complained and they removed and replaced most of the stairs with the nails and uneven cuts however, they left two stairs with nails in them, I guess they thought I wouldn't notice and they left the stair with the worst uneven cut. also, one of the installers damaged one of the planks, it had a gash in the floor and instead of replacing that plank they just hoped I wouldn't see it. I complained and they did replace the damaged plank but it should have never took me to complain to get it replaced. This was my fault, I should have done more research. we had to pay a 50% deposit which should have been my first red flag, most of the companies I deal with never require a deposit. I wasn't going to complain anymore, I just wanted to pay them, after almost 10 days we had not received an invoice for the balance, we had to ask for an invoice several times, once we received it we paid it. the floors look nice, it is just the details are crappy and they took short cuts. not to mention the dust which had they told me I could have covered up all my furniture and gym equipment, I will be cleaning it for weeks. they propped open all my windows with asking (my AC was running) and they broke one of my alarm sensors on the window which I had to pay to replace. lastly the mess they left in my yard, sawdust, what look like cat litter granules and some sort of ties were all around my back door where they were working. do your homework!
