Reviews in Atlanta for Installing Shower Doors

Shower Glass Dreamworks
5.0
Leonardo was a delight to work with. He was responsive from day one. Always there for me to ask for advice about other items I needed to refresh the shower. His work was superb and the crew cleaned up as if they were never there! I am in love with my new shower door - changed the whole look of the bathroom and HIGHLY recommend Shower Glass Dreamworks to you!

Handyman Connection of Alpharetta
1.0
Handyman Connection of Alpharetta was hired for a shower remodel in November of 2018. TL;DR - don't hire this company for anything more than washing a window or removing an old nail from the wall, and don't expect for them to back the work that's done with their so-called "1-year warranty". The handyman sent from the company was not professional and lacked politeness and honesty. The mess he made in our house took longer to clean up and smell back to normal than it took for him to make it. Between the cigarette smoke and the condescending conversations he managed to throw up the facade of a shower, that we quickly realized needed more attention. The work done was overpriced for what we received. 8 months after the installation the floor tiles were popping out and grout was allowing water to seep through. A project manager from the company came over to check on things to see if the work would be covered by the so-called 1-year warranty. The project manager was the best part of the company, honest, straightforward and agreed that the work done was absolutely horrible and told me to expect a phone call from the office soon to make things right. 5 days later I received a phone call from the original handyman who performed the poor installation and a voicemail from him saying he wanted to fix the shower. If insanity is defined by doing the same thing twice expecting different results, I'd have been insane to allow this person back in our home to give it another shot. I reached out to a real professional (which I would recommend you do at this point if you're still reading this review) to come take a look and fix the mistakes that had been made to the shower in the first place. We ended up having to redo all of the floor work and cover up much of the poor finishing work on the shower. We also learned that the mortar used to hold the tile on is not meant to be used for showers. It isn't heat resistant and will wear quickly over time. We expect to only have 5 years left on the multi-thousand dollar renovation that will cost us as much, or more, to fix. When I asked the Handyman Connection to make things right and cover the costs of having someone who knew what they were doing fix the shower they refused to honor their one year warranty stating that warranty work is only covered by Handyman Connection contractors. They didn't bother to ask how much I was wanting to make things right. They have no interest in customer satisfaction from what I can tell; they are just out to make another buck. I would have been happy for a partial coverage, but the lady on the phone (who didn't sound very confident and could tell that they were treating me wrong) said that there was nothing they could do after she placed me on hold for a second and a half to ask someone else if they could help. This company may be good for fixing a window lock, painting a wall or hanging a photo, but I would definitely not recommend them for anything of significance. UPDATE 10/1/19 from my previous review: **I just reached out to Rick, the owner of the company, in response to his comment on Google Reviews about making things right. We both came to the agreement that we could have done things differently to resolve the issue at hand and he offered me $250 to cover part of the costs IF I REMOVED MY HONEST REVIEW OF HIS COMPANY. I told him that I'm not interested in taking bribes, but I would be willing to accept the $250 and update the review honestly. This was not good enough for him, so he rescinded his $250 offer and we are back at square one, but now I think even lower of this company and how they handle conflict and bad jobs.

GOLOTA BUILDING SERVICES
1.0
The shower started leaking into the basement five years after the installation. The shower was improperly installed without a proper shower pan. Mike Golota used and still uses RedGard as a shower pan, which is a liquid sealant, instead of the industry standard use of a CPE waterproof membrane. The exact problem happened to my in-laws remodeled tile shower in almost the same time frame that was remodeled by Mike Golota five years prior. When contacted about the issue Mike Golota blamed house settling and cracked grout for the leaking shower pan not the lack of proper materials such as CPE membrane. Mike Golota told my inlaws the exact same thing when their tile shower started leaking three years ago. Both our houses were built in the 1960s, any settling would have occurred long ago. Mike also added that it didn't matter either way because it was way of out warranty and he won't pay for any repairs. Mike Golota and Golota Building Services should not be trusted to work on your home because he does not stand behind his work.

The experience was great all around. When I first requested an estimate, Marvin responded immediately. We scheduled a day to drop by to check out the concrete and his concrete guy, Ashton, called me immediately following with a fair estimate. When I agreed, he said he could knock it out the next day. Ashton showed up early the next day and had the concrete segment complete by noon. It looks great. Marvin came by the same day and adjusted our seamless glass shower door and rehung a kitchen cabinet on the wall. Both jobs were perfect. On top of all this, both Ashton and Marvin are great guys. Use them! Fair price and professional all around. We're already planning other projects with them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Barry was great....called an hour before alerting me that he was in traffic. Ended up coming in a timely manner. Looked at the shower door and wall, told me what the issue was, gave the estimate etc. Very profesional. Also looked at an unfinished closet area and informed me on what that job would entail. Overall very satisfied with their work. Would definitely use again.

I previously submitted a report on Dan Doster and I gave him a good report. Even though he quoted me $85 to fix all three of my very small projects, once he finished he told me he did more work on the toilet tank than he quoted me and I now owed him $185 due to the cost of parts, he said the charge for labor was $60. When he showed me what he had done he replaced the entire fixture. He told me that he had to do the extra work in order to fix the small part I needed fixed. Even though I did not appreciate the fact that he did extra work increasing the cost of repairs $100 without asking me. I figured he was being honest so I paid him without any question. However, I recently had another plastic float inside a different toilet tank in my house break. I went to Home Depot to see if I could do it myself. I found out that not only was it not necessary for Dan Doster to replace the entire fixture, but the part cost less than $10. Needless to say I am changing my report on Doster & Company.

OMG, this was the BEST experience I have EVER had with a handyman. And not just because it was so cheap (I took advantage of the "big deal" and only paid $89 for 6 hours of Handyman work. I have never been so pleased. Their work was impeccable, they were professional, pleasant, polite, detailed, knowledgeable. I cant say enough good things about them. First of all, soon after I bought the deal, Mike Sisson called to schedule a pre-assessment. Unlike those crappy deals you get on Groupon, this guy called me. Very impressive. He came in -- and asked for my list of stuff. I had no idea how to judge such timing of things - but my biggest issue was to replace the faucet in the 1/2 bath and lighting. I asked for Replace faucet Replace vanity light Replace TP holder Replace vanity light in upstairs bath Mike asked me - ok, what else? I was stunned. He could have very easily said ok -- and got his guys out of here and moved on. But he didnt. (Impressed again). That says a lot about the integrity of the company. He asked me if I'm sure and to think about it. I thought of some more things and called him -- he said sure. We set a date and I looked forward to it. Unfortunately, he put the date he promised me at a later time on his calendar, so it didnt work out (I gotta tell ya I was starting to feel uneasy ...thinking, maybe I'd have a hard time scheduling him. Nope.He was extremely apologetic and it actually worked out for me because my delivery of one of the chandeliers was late. They came today. They were here a few min early than the scheduled time. They walked in, introduced themseleves and got a preview of what all needed to be done. I of course had added more (just in case) They ended up doing the following: Replace faucet Replace vanity light Replace TP holder Replace towel bar Replace vanity light in upstairs bath Replace towel bar Install curved shower rod Replace Dining Chandelier Replace Foyer Chandelier That is a LOT for $89!! They got it all done, cleaned up afterwards, kept apprised of everything ...and gave me advice on my light bulbs for the chandelier. I feel like I have an almost new home. I am so impressed, so grateful to Bob and Raymond and to Angies List for offering this ASTOUNDING experience. I am delighted with my home. I am asking them back in June for part 2. These are now my regular guys. Do yourself a favor and hire them. You will be GLAD you did. Their rates are awesome!!!

Mike did a great job of rebuilding a leaky shower. He provided suggestions for tiling styles and guidance on shower doors. The work took a bit longer than I expected, but Mike works alone so that is not surprising. Each day, Mike cleaned up so that there was not a construction zone in the rest of the master bath area. Mike also disposed of all of the old de-constructed shower components such as the old door, tiles etc. Mike discussed each step with us so that we fully understood what he was doing and why. We now have a beautiful, leak-proof shower to enjoy.

Kevin took on a difficult job: the shower was relatively new by the home's previous owner, but a moldy disaster, and because of the imminent birth of a baby, there was a tight deadline on the job. In order to accommodate this deadline he had to manage several crew members to complete the tear-down and rebuild, which involved many steps plus wait time in between them. Timing included recommendations for purchase of materials by inexperienced customer (us), and explanation of construction concerns to prevent reappearance of mold. Kevin's crew members were expert and communication was good across the board. Clean-up from day to day and at the conclusion of the job was excellent. The only reason for a "B" for quality is a low spot in the shower floor, but this is easily addressed with a squeegee. I am inclined to think of this small inconvenience as a byproduct of the complexity of the installation under a strict deadline. This firm was a pleasure to deal with and I would hire them again.
