Reviews in Atlanta to Pump Installers

Plumb Works Inc
5.0
We called Plumb Works after another company (which had been highly rated on one of the "free" service rating websites) came out. What a lousy experience. The other guy gave us an estimate of $1500 including $800 for the pump (they sell for $300 or so online). I told him I always get a second estimate for work costing this much. He immediately "had to call his manager" and then said "we really want your business and will reduce the charge to $1000." So...if I had been a trusting customer I would have been ripped off for $500. To make it worse, I suspect he was out to cheat not just us but his employer, as when he left, he gave us a PERSONAL business card, said to call him, and "oh by the way don't tell my boss I gave you this." Crooks! Called Plumb Works on the rave recommendation of a neighbor. This time figured I'd do more background work and signed up for Angie's List. Found that they were indeed A-rated here. Totally different experience. The plumber was neat, polite, and on-time, driving a clean, well-kept truck. He wore shoe covers, got to work and showed me what was wrong with our pump. He quoted me $950 including a much higher grade cast iron pump, and that included the $129 fee for a one year service contract (could have done it for about $25 less without it, but the discount from the service contract almost made up for the membership fee). Then, I added the coupon (available here on Angie's List) to take another $50 off. We are totally satisfied with this experience and will certainly use them the next time we need a plumber. Thanks to Angie's List too for the help.

Robert arrived on time and immediately inspected the sewage ejector pump to determine that it was broken. He gave me several options for replacing the pump, including the option for me to provide my own pump for him to install. I chose that option, and picked up a $300 unit at Home Depot while he removed the old pump. He quoted me a price for lasbor of $445 and deducted my prepaid Angies list coupon from the total. Robert did a great job, and the new pump is working fine.

Majestic was initially called to do overall check of all related plumbing. There were no identified problems by them at that time. Less than 3 weeks later, our sewage pump caused water in our basement. We determined, after the fact, that we could have bought the the liberty pump installed for between 300-350. That would make the Majestic's labor costs around 650.00 for roughly 1 1/2 hours work on site. We felt that the labor costs were too high. Others can be the judge of that. I would suggest getting competitive bids if you have the time (non emergency). Unfortunately, we didn't.

Majestic Plumbing was the only company I called that would come and give a free estimate. Todd was very thorough, going over options and prices. He returned with Sandy on the promised day, and they did what they needed to do in a expedient but pleasant manner. I would recommend these guys to my family, friends and neighbors.

The technician was very responsive and arrived the same day that I called. He did several hours of problem-solving, and ultimately concluded that the pump was broken, was the wrong pump, and a clog had formed further up in the line. He tried to coil the line, but it was too deep in the line, so he had to return the following day to jet the line. He also replaced the pump. The repair was much more significant and costly than I anticipated, but appeared to be what was necessary.

Identified that the float switch on my sewage pump was not functioning properly (sticking). Was able to get the float switch to work without replacing the switch. Technicians were courteous and explained each step they took to remedy the problem.

The cost is my own fault for not getting regular septic pump-out before now. But I have to give top scores to this company: they were super easy to work with, very fast in scheduling an appointment (I needed immediate service), showed up on time, were professional and neat in the work they performed, and did all they could to keep my costs as low as possible (even gave me creative financing options). Turns out that my septic was not up to code, so they helped fix that too. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing plumbing or septic work. My technician was Jason -- he was very knowledgeable, super friendly, and is a huge credit to this company. Even though the grass was little torn up, they did a good job minimizing the workspace mess.

Provider removed and installed new submersible sewage pump that had failed. They also made some tweaks to the piping to make it more efficient moving forward. Extra work was done under the original cost quoted to us. They called me many times to keep me advised of the time they were showing up. My original pump had failed under warranty which Home Depot replaced. So this was an all labor project.

My husband called them on Monday morning. They gave a time estimate and then called later to say that someone was available earlier to come. I was pleased that they sent an e-mail with pictures or who was coming to do the work before arrival. They also immediately e-mailed the bill upon completion. I was able to read the receipt at work which stated what we were charged with in detail and a 1 year warranty. Our 16 year old sewage ejector pump had rusted out and needed to be replaced.

I called at 7:30 am and by 10:30 the job was done and done well. Professional, courteous , fast, and quality job. All the plumber had to do was glue a small 2" PVC pipe in the ejector pump out valve, feed it through the cover, attach the back-flow valve with compression fittings, glue that to the 2" stack out pipe and put the lid on so I thought surely the $175 would cover that cost but the total bill was $850 less $20 for the coupon from Angies List.....$830 I anticipated the total bill to be around $550 -$600 max. I had removed the old pump and I had purchased new nuts and washer for the pump cover. I saw a great back-flow preventer valve at Home Depot for $32, but opted to let the plumbing company replace it instead. Guess which one was installed----yep the same one I saw at Home Depot. I thought if the pump cost $380, how could they possibly justify another $470 for labor for less than 1/2 hr on the job. Now again, quality job, quality pump, professional and courteous employee but the price was outrageous to me.

Recent Review: Greg suggested installing a tank and ejector pump in the closet next to the bathroom. We decided that was an acceptable solution and agreed upon a price. It took a lot of digging and working in very tight quarters. They managed to do all the jack hammering and plumbing work without damaging the new tile floor just 6" through the wall. The guys completed the job in two days. They thoroughly cleaned up the job site before leaving. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Greenlee Plumbing.

Recent Review: It went well. The entire perimeter of the basement floor was opened and a drain was installed and routed to a sump pump to remove any possible basement water. There was much jack hammer work to break the concrete and dust was everywhere. I was left with the clean up of the dust. This was the only negaive of the work.

Recent Review: I left a message at 7:45 the next morning (before they were even open) for Amos Pump to call me back ASAP and explained we were without water and needed help right away. Within 30 minutes they called back and had a service tech out to your house by 11:AM that morning. Within 30 minutes he had replaced a part and boosted the water pressure also. With my new customer coupon from Angies List, I gladly paid the $135. I am very happy with their response and service. If I have any needs for additional service related to my well or pump, I will call Amos Pump again without hesitation. I'm a very satisfied customer!

Recent Review: I had my plumber here yesterday and he said I needed an air conditioning person instead, and I needed them right away, After some research, I chose to call Meeks Heating & Air and told them I needed someone to come next day. Even during this busy time of year, Mr. Meeks was able to work me into a tech's schedule! The office called me today and kept me informed of when to expect the tech. The tech arrived, was very pleasant, performed an assessment, and explained to me exactly what the problem was and what caused the problem. He was extremely professional, had all of the things he needed in which to perform my repair, and cleaned up the area completely. The tech, "Darrel," advised me on follow up care and what I needed to do to prevent future problems. The pricing was EXTREMELY reasonable. I received a new customer discount, and an Angie's List discount. However, if I would have added the new customer discount and the Angie's List discount back onto the invoice, I still would have considered the pricing EXTREMELY reasonable. Meek's service techs are very kind, customer oriented, very skilled at their professional, and honest, fair folks. I highly recommend this family owned and operated business that has grown their business to have brought in very special people like Darrel. I would ask for Darrel the next time I need service, but would trust any service tech that Meek's would send to my home.

Recent Review: D&S Plumbing came out and diagnosed and repaired the problem: storm the previous night had fried the pump. Daniel came out in the cold and rain and took care of the problem. Hardest part was finding a supply house open on Christmas Eve. The best part: they didn't charge an after-hours nor "emergency" service charge! I'll NEVER call anyone else!

Ben McCook, Service Technician arrived to our home on time and prepared to get to work. He immediately put his protective booties on over his shoes to protect our floors, thank you Ben! Ben asked us relevant questions about the age of the pump etc. After his thorough inspection of pump Ben explained to us in detail what the problem was.
