I called Appliance Zen for a problem with my inoperative, stove fan. I also had a problem with my microwave, that would often shutdown, unexpectedly, when it was running. The serviceman/owner, Sebastian visited and diagnosed the problems. The fan needed a simple off/on switch replaced. The microwave needed some inexpensive parts replaced. I told Sebastian that I didn't want to put money into the microwave if it could not be effectively repaired and that I would prefer to put the money into a new unit. Sebastian assured me he knew what was wrong and could repair the microwave. He returned with parts and repaired both items. I believe the charge was $280. The fan switch was a basic repair and worked perfectly. The microwave worked for about two days, then began exhibiting the same problems. I called an left a message that the repair failed. I left multiple messages. My calls were not returned. When Sebastian finally returned my call, he told me that parts were difficult to find for my microwave but that he would find what was needed and return for the repair. That was almost two years ago. Sebastian took my money for a repair that I was reluctant to have done. He took my money and did not make the repair. A refund was never offered. Mr Sebastian is a personable individual. but he has some problems that involve competence, honesty and integrity. At no time was I rude or offensive in my calls to his business. I would like to point out that his administrative assistant, Mary, who mans the office phone, is one of the most pleasant business people I have ever encountered. God bless her. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend that you find another business to perform your repairs.
