My first experience with Michael was earlier this year when my central AC died. Michael determined that the AC needed Freon, which has become expensive since it was phased out 10 years or so ago. Apparently there was a leak somewhere in the system. Michael suggested we update the AC to the newer coolant, which required a new compressor outside and new coils inside. Rather than spend $500 replacing Freon that had leaked out of the existing system and would likely do so again, I agreed that it made sense to update the AC. The new AC performed flawlessly for the rest of the summer. When time came to install a mini split in a room I wanted to finish in the basement, once again I called on Michael at Nicely Done to do the job. He listened to my needs (quiet and efficient) and recommended the right model for the job. Awesome remote controlled quiet unit provides cooling in the summer and heating in the winter. Perfect for my new home theater. He has since installed a UV unit in my Furnace/AC and a float switch on the drip pan. We also hired Michael to clean out our air ducts. He found some interesting stuff in those ducts. Between the air duct cleaning and the UV light, we're breathing cleaner air now. Michael is very friendly, easy to work with and very knowledgeable. I will definitely turn to him whenever I have HVAC work to be done or air ducts in need of cleaning.

Poorly! This man came to our home, evaluated our heat loss and recommended a unit. Our choice was a Lennox unit as we have positive experience with that type of unit. Mr. Ball was extremely attentive during the bidding procedure. We carefully explained to him our needs (most especially that we had excessive heat in the top two rooms of our home). He assured us that this was correctable and that our previous unit had been under-sized for the needs of the home and this new suggested size and model would meet our needs. He provided and estimate and we hired him. 1. Purchased was a two speed Lennox model. The concept is unit runs on low unless higher speeds are required to cool the home. This company, despite three trips to our home, was unable to make the adjustment on this unit to accomplish this two speed option. Though extremely attentive during the bidding process, Mr. Dean Ball was much less attentive to my still too warm upstairs. $4,500 more to fix that! Never again!

Zack is my plumber-on-call when I have plumbing problems in my condo.  I am now working with him on the plumbing part of a kitchen renovation.  I am so pleased with his work that, when my central air conditioner stopped working, I called Zack.  His A/C partner is Josh. It's the dead of summer, and although I had to wait several -HOT- days for All Ways to fix my air conditioner, I wanted to see if they were as good at A/C as at plumbing.  They are. Josh was right on time, dismantled the 20+ year old unit, found the bad capacitor, replaced it, counseled me on the need for a new system pretty soon, and what that would entail.  He was gone in 45 minutes, and I now have a timing and cost budget for the new unit this winter. You cannot do better than these guys.

The arrived on time and worked quickly to install the new unit.  A separate person came the next day to start up the unit.  They cleaned up any mess and the installation inspected  by the town.  The interface panel was brand new and the technician said it was the first he had installed.   I was surprised that he could not explain the programming to me, but after reading the manual (not well written by Carrier) I finally figured it out.  We are very pleased with the functioning of the unit and energy efficiency.  It is impressive technology since it was producing heat to keep our house at 70 F during the recent cold spell (1 F plus strong wind).  The Carrier model was the Greenspeed model.  Except for the after sale customer service I would rate them an excellent company to work with.  I contacted them due to the large number of "A" reports on Angie's list.

After a bad experience and misdiagnosis of the system by the original system installation company, I called Quality Air for a second opinion.  Ouality Air sent out a very professional technician who correctly diagnosed the problem and offered me options on the system repair.  They then contacted the unit manufacturer and secured a warranty replacement unit even though it was out of warranty. I would strongly recommend the Ouality Club option when choosing Quality Air.

Bad. They (2 technicians) came on a Wednesday. I told them I had a similar problem a few years ago, and it was fixed by adding coolant. After spending a relatively short time, that came and told me that it was a problem with a TXV valve These control the volume of compressed coolant being released into the evaporative coils. They said it would take quite a job to replace it, as the whole system would have to be drain and refilled. They suggested I consider a new unit to replace the old existing (R22) unit. They were to check to see if they could find a replacement TXV valve, and get back the next day with a quote. Also, a sales person would come by and develop a quote for the new unit. I was told the next day that no replacement could be found, so only option was to scrap the existing unit. The sales person came the next day, and I was to get a quote on Friday, when he called, and gave me a quote for $4800. What they did not know is that I had another HVAC tech coming Friday. He came, and said his initial guess was simply adding coolant as I had suggested earlier, and that it is very difficult to identify TXV problems, as it could not be directly tested as installed. I went under the house with him to the unit, and he noted the evaporative panel (where the TXV valve would be) had not been opened, as one screw had to be drilled out to get at it. On opening, as he expected, there was NO TXV valve - only a manual valve as shown in the unit manual, which the other HVAC tech had been not interested in looking at. He fixed it by adding 2 #'s of R22. He said it would take a lot of work to find the leak, so suggested they should look at it occasionally to see that it doesn't get much worse. I contacted Comfort, and besides the quick wrong determination, they had not done any other work covered by the $95 fee below, which was then refunded. I am writing this so anyone going forward who gets a quote for replacing rather that repairing their unit not just get a quote from other HVAC's for that - but to GET ANOTHER TESTING OF THE UNIT FROM ANOTHER HVAC ALSO ! Reading the earlier reviews made me wonder about the several $ replacements that were done, not just because mine was done wrong - but how superficial the way things were done. Also, I was told that Rheeme no longer had parts to support the unit TXV, while they should have been told that there was no such part used in that unit.

Recent Review: Chris and his team were very professional and did a great job. There were a lot of different repairs going on, and Chris communicated consistently throughout the process to make sure that everything was going the way I wanted. He came up with good solutions in various areas that resulted in a better outcome than I had envisioned at the start. He also came up with good solutions in various areas where I simply wasn't sure how best to proceed. Chris seemed to understand the trade-off between spending more money than is necessary and spending so cheaply that further repairs might be needed sooner rather than later. Finding that balance was very important to me. He also proved to be the first contractor (out of quite a few) who has ever returned to finish up a small detail after having been paid in full, in spite of his demanding schedule. Contractors I have dealt with in the past have never kept that kind of promise. This simple act indicates to me that Chris values integrity. One of the ductless mini splits that he installed started leaking (4 months later) inside the house during a stretch of hot and very humid days. He stood by his work. He and his dad came out, checked out the unit, and fixed the problem. Some foreign material had been left in the unit/drip pan during the manufacturing process (our best guess) which migrated and ultimately clogged the drain line at the pan. Problem solved. I would not hesitate to call Chris in the future if needed. In fact, I've already got him working on new windows for my mom's house!

Recent Review: Once we got on their schedule all went very well.  The service person was very professional. Came as schedules with a pre call to ensure we were home.  Efficiently found and replaced a part that was not working as needed in our air conditioning unit and replaced our filters.  The only think we were a bit disappointed with was that after paying for the spring/fall maintenance contract back in April, we waited for a call to set up the spring maintenance appointment. We finally called in June to set up the appointment.  The person my husband spoke with said they were very busy and were not able to get to everyone to set up the appointments. The appointment was set up for the following week.   Possibly our understanding was incorrect that Horizon after receiving our payment in advance for the service would reach out to us to set up the appointment.

Recent Review: All About Heat & Air just installed two new heat pumps, replacing our old ones. The installers were very professional and did a great job. We also got much better systems at a similar price compared to other estimates. The Co inspector was just here and both systems passed. He commented on the high quality of the install and said that All About Heat & Air does some of the best work around. He also noted that Bosch units seem to be far superior compared to other top brands. He wished he had Bosch in his home. Thanks again for a job well done.
