    It took about an hour and a half. I like that. I don't like them to be there all day. They are very good with my animals. The owner and the woman that works with her are very personable. They want to get to know the animal. They know them name. They are very good to the person who owns the animal.

    I have a very anxious pup that can be quite consuming. Her previous groomer retired and we went through 3 groomers trying to find a new one which only added to her anxiety. The girls here were very patient with Colbie and even came up with a plan to work with her and her issues with being groomed. I'm very happy with them all!

    She checks his ears. They clean his anal glands. They clip his nails. Since he is a Maltese, he has weepy eyes, and they take care of that. They will also clean their teeth. They do charge an additional 5 dollars for that. I really like the way they welcome you into the salon with your pet. They coddle you pet and make it feel calm in the salon. You do have to make an appointment. The staff is very friendly.

    This facility is a great change from many others I've taken my pets to. The enviornment is very relaxed--some pets roam free, while others are kept in kennels, but there doesn't seem to be any angst or stress among most of them. It also smells very clean--not like the and quot;wet dogand quot; smell you often get in grooming salons. They always work me in, even when I call last-minute. The price is very similar to other groomers, too. I would highly recommend them!

    I have been taking my dogs to first Amanda, and now Darlene at the Olive Ave. shop for several years now. Darlene always does a wonderful job on my teri/poo and my Chihuahua, and on my now deceased Lhasa. She follows directions as to how you want them trimmed and always treats them very well. I highly recommed Darlene and the shop for their love of animals, their courtesy to their customers and the very fair priceing for their great services.

    I was impressed with Alani's! I had read other reviews and still decided to try them out since they are right by my house. I was able to get my cats in that day, and they were ready when promised! I took them back since and it was still a great experience. The girls that work there are extremely nice and they did such a great job! Also, the cost is very low, considering PetSmart charges much more for less work. I would definitely recommend Alani's to others!

    While there are good vets almost everywhere, the personality of Dr. Santos and the program he mentors is both phenomenal and leagues ahead of his contemporaries. At the top of my comments, I would state that Dr. Santos and his entire team at ?Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital? are a family of professionals that you can feel comfortable with. You cannot escape liking people who enjoy their roles with your family pets as much as these people do. They always remember your pet?s name, even if they are not always as accurate about the owner?s name. Pets are greeted in such a manner that wiggle tails and purrs are common. My wife and I handle a sweet canine (Doberman) service animal as well as her little sister, a tabby cat who believes she is of privileged class. Both of these animals look forward to seeing their medical caregivers and get excited as we drive closer to the facilities. Even in the worst situations, these folks have a knack for lifting spirits and helping us humans through difficult times with our (pets / family members / working partners). Some of the qualities of leadership that Dr. Santos shares with his team are: · Compassion · Communication skills · Vast medical and scientific knowledge · Solid examination techniques · Focus on continuing education · Benevolence to the community · V ERY Supportive of service and working animals · Community based practitioner who is actively involved in supporting local schools, children?s programs, and other local issues. (Dr. Santos himself sits on the board at Turlock Irrigation District) In regard to the amenities and services available: · The facility is clean and comfortable with well-organized offices · Location and parking is convenient · Appointments are encouraged but not required · Veterinarians of varied disciplines and expertise are in the practice · Well qualified and personable technicians or other professional support staff members · Dog and cat cages in separate areas · Staff is caring, calm, competent, courteous, and they communicate effectively · Veterinarians have special interests such as geriatrics or behavior · Range of services include the very small animals to the large animals · X-rays, blood work, Physical therapy are done in-house · Emergency services are available · Fees are very reasonable · Performs free and discounted services for community based programs related to feral cats and abandoned dogs. · This practice also has a crematorium for those who want to ensure the passing of their pet is with dignity and remains can be returned with confidence that only your pet is returned to you. · Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital provides a remembrance group to those in a state of bereavement. My wife and I travel 90 miles from the Sacramento area to Dr. Santos?s clinic because of the observable difference in services this office has over any other practice we have experienced. All are outgoing, sympathetic people who like animals and like to please. They stand within feet of you when sharing information, give you considerable eye contact, and address you and your pet by name. Everyone smiles, is upbeat and strokes your pet with sincere affection. During a routine office call, the veterinarian never hurries or attempts to speed up the exam. We get an extra benefit from this team in the form of exchanges that tend to add to an understanding of animal behavior or physiology. The rooms are clean and free of odor. There is a children?s area adjacent to the main reception where young ones can learn from pet related videos, books, games, photos, and stuffed animals. The reception area is full of eye catching design, art and comfortable seating for both you and your pet. Waits are NEVER very long. The exam rooms have soft-scape walls and art so that noises are muffled and do not cause your pet anxiety. There is a small whiteboard in each room so you can list your questions and concerns while waiting and therefore not forget subjects you want discussed. I recommend: · NOT merely using your veterinary hospital as an emergency room. It leaves little for your vet to know the special needs of your pet, (our Doberman is hypersensitive to anesthetics), little time to become comfortable with your Veterinarian or to make friends and have pleasant experiences. · Engage you?re Veterinarian in conversation until you are comfortable with his / her style with you and your pet. Set an initial appointment and set regular checkups. It is far cheaper than working in emergency mode only. This practice allows your Veterinarian to note potential issues earlier than even you can and office visits are extremely inexpensive insurance. · Only take one pet in at a time so your attentions are focused along with your Veterinarians. · Make sure that the family member who takes your pet to the Veterinarian is the one who knows the most about the pet and or its condition. · Take new prospective pets to the Veterinarian prior to committing to a life with it so you can be assured of a fit in your home and the overall health situation of your pet. · Be Nice in return. Just like your family doctor, your best results come from establishing and maintaining an honest relationship with your veterinarian. Buy a Starbucks card or such on occasion for that staff person who was ?extra special?. This really says ?thank you? on behalf of your pet within the office and helps establish long term friendships between your pet and their caregivers. · In the same light, try hard to not let stressful visits affect your pet?s emotions or makes you an additional concern to the Monte Vista Small Animal Hospitals staff.     my dogs get the works, bath,nails,hair cuts,anal gland cleaning, and i am always very happy. the price charged is a great value. and my dogs are always happy when i pick them up and even better is they like going so i know they are treated well. the groomer has an enclosed area to let them play and go potty so they are safe too. i highly recommend kathy k as a master dog groomer.
