Michelle was an absolute gem to work with. Very kind, professional and responsive to all of our needs. The drivers were also amazing! Felt very secure having our entire household on their premises. We also felt like their pricing was pretty reasonable. We highly recommend them and would use them again if needed

  • Stairhopper Movers
    5.0
I hired stairhopper to clear my grandmothers apartment. She has vintage furniture and precious valuables. I was nervous to have anyone packing her belongings, but the crew was wonderful. They wrapped everything so meticulously and stacked beautifully in our storage unit. The price was the best I found in the city. Thanks Stairhopper

  • Double A Moving and Storage

Workers were very respectful and professional. They were prepared and worked efficiently. They kept running in an out of the truck, I really appreciated that because it just showed how mindful they were of my time. I really liked the customer service I was given very empathetic. If I had to move again I know who I can trust to call

  • White Glove Moving & Storage
    1.0
I cannot recommend White Glove Moving and Storage. Moldy, toxic smelling furniture - repacking my waterlogged items in plastic bags haphazardly so they could continue to deteriorate - not asking if they were permitted to open my boxes and repack them - when repacking most items, not using packing paper and letting Samsung speakers sit loose in a large box with other items - driving what amounted to garbage 3,000 miles across country so I could take delivery of items that needed to be hauled immediately to the dump - losing childhood keepsakes from both of my deceased parents - where do I begin? My husband and I have been storing our home's belongings at White Glove's storage facility in North Bergen NJ since August 20th 2020. This was part of our overall move to the west coast. We have kept our items in storage there in preparation for us having a home in the LA area. White Glove also packed my 1bedroom apartment and I contracted with them to store our items for as long as we needed them to and then we would have White Glove deliver everything when the time was right. On September 1st, the date that Hurricane Ida hit the East Coast, White Glove's storage facility was affected by water damage. IT TOOK THEM ONE WHOLE WEEK TO REACH OUT TO ALL OF US! One week later, White Glove sent a mass email to their customers letting us know that our items may have been affected by the hurricane. That was 1 full week that I was not made aware that my items were damaged. White Glove also said that they would be repacking items that had taken on water - I asked if they would be allowing the items to dry first and they said they would not be able to do that. I asked if they could take photos, they said they could not. I asked them if they would at least be marking the boxes that they were repacking (without my authorization, mind you) and they remarked that, hey that's a good idea (WHAT? A good idea to mark boxes that had been repacked??). They advised us to schedule delivery as soon as possible. So, having no other recourse to see what had become of my items, I scheduled a delivery - not to a home, because I do not have one in LA yet, but to another storage facility. They told me I would have to pay the balance due even though the movers would not have to drive the shipment to the original contracted destination and they would not have to assemble furniture. I explained that I would now have to hire another moving company eventually and they refused to reduce my amount due. We took delivery of our items on September 19th. The freight driver drove approximately 3,000 miles with a truck full of ruined, moldy, foul smelling and wet furniture, books, personal effects and keepsakes. Imagine opening a wet box only to discover your childhood keepsakes and photos wrapped and deteriorating in wet packing paper, losing the last remaining items your grandparents gave you from the old country. The furniture was destroyed and so was much of everything else. I understand that there was a natural disaster, but White Glove was supposed to care for my items. They made the situation worse by not contacting us until a week after the hurricane and then by repacking wet items, they caused further damage. I have lost nearly a whole home of furniture, etc. I am not alone - there are 150 other people who are in my situation. Now there is some weird direction about filling out insurance paperwork and I have to wait 10 business days to see if they will consider reducing the cost of my move. I lost so much from their negligance. There are many more photos, this is just a sample

  • Rainbow Movers
    5.0
Excellent. The office staff are great at communication and the movers were the hardest working men I have ever seen. They were strong, safe, smart, fast and careful. We had many stairs they had to negotiate which was not easy - but they made it look easy. We will be using Rainbow again in the future as we have another move planned before the end of 2020. Great company and movers!!! So thankful to have had them

  • Hilford Moving and Storage- Allied Van Lines
    1.0
Hilford Moving is incompetent, unscrupulous and frauds. Moving crew showed up without the promised, proper materials. They asked us "to help find a sub-contractor who could perform the work they promised to do with their staff". Their onsite "moving staff" is one FTE, and some day workers who are inexperienced, stand around until told what to do, and do not listen to client's requests for "protecting doorways and furniture". I spoke to Steve Dato, Gloria Criss (Owner), all of whom "apologized" for destroyed furniture, promises made/never kept, mis-representation and fraudulent documentation. Our last remedy is to file legal claims against this company. Steve Dato admitted he had never been trained, and did not know "how this really works". SAVE YOUR MONEY and aggravation - they do not care about your furniture. Lastly - they DELETE ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS, so be forewarned
