I've had 3 different tree companies in the past and not one has ever been close to this good. A crew of 6 completed the entire job in only 5 hours. Mitch (the owner) does not allow anyone to play music or take shirts off. Raked the yard, cut and stacked all the firewood I needed, cleaned off all pavement. Mike (his son, who estimated the job) asked me several times if the job had been done to my satisfaction and provided recommendations. They truly take pride in their work. If you call anyone else you're wasting your time

- Tree Work By Mitch Drake & SonsAfter receiving three estimates for service, Mitch Drake was the lowest by several hundred dollars over one estimate and by over a thousand over the other. We decided to go with Mitch Drake. On the morning of the job, the crew showed up on time and got to work. When I expressed my backyard neighbor's concern of damaging his property, they said that they could remove a section of the fence and do all the work through our yard. I was told that even if they went through the neighbor's yard, their goal was to leave the yard exactly as they found it and there would be no trace of the crew when they were finished. As far as the actual job, they did exactly what was agreed upon for the price agreed upon. They completely removed two trees down to the ground and cut several branches off a third tree. I had asked for a large pile of fire wood to be left in the corner of the property and apparently that information did not get passed to all team members so that I was only left with a small pile of rather large logs when I reminded them that I wanted a wood pile. A real issue however was the damage left to the side yard due to the bobcat-type machine that was driven from the wood chipper on the street to the fence surrounding the backyard several times. Due to recent rain, the machine left large ruts in the side yard, tore up the grass and part of a planting area and smashed down all the grass where it drove. When I noticed the damage after the crew had left, I called and left a message. The next day, Mitch Drake himself came out and inspected the damage. I felt that he could have been more sympathetic to my concerns. He basically told me that he couldn't really do anything that would cost him any money to fix it or he wouldn't make any money off my job. He suggested stomping down on the high spots and filling in the low spots with dirt. He suggested using a pitchfork to help raise up the low spots. He also stated that *we* could rent a heavy roller ourselves to flatten out the area. He did agree to send a crew out the next week to try to do the stomping and pitchforking which did improve the look of the area somewhat. Mitch then returned to inspect the property again and promised to return in a few months if we are still not satisfied. If it weren't for the issues with the side yard being damaged, I would have rated them all A's. But because of the damage left and the hassles in getting it repaired, I have lowered my ratings to reflect that. I would just warn others to discuss any equipment being driven on the property if the ground is damp and know that there is a risk that the lawn could be damaged. This wasn?t really explained to us and we might have held off on cutting down the trees until the ground was not damp had we known

"This is the fourth time I’ve used Mitch Drake and sons. And as with the other three times, their work is excellent. The crew is very conscientious about ensuring trees are cut down safely and they never damaged our fence or buildings. This time we had two large damaged/dead trees removed, a stump ground and multiple very large trees trimmed and dressed. When they finish, you wouldn’t have known they were here. The yard was picked clean.
