We had nice stores in many cities - like Scottsdale, Ann Arbor, Richmond, etc - but Ed carriers proven products and is super efficient with repairs , and organized person , and nice! His carpet cleaning gear is amazing. It saved us loads and Ed's tips help us get ALL the dirt and dog hair out of the carpet. Ed maintains his rental gear to keep it at its peak. Need a vacuum or advice - go to ED!

    Having invested a small fortune in a vacuum cleaner, I was surprised when its performance was sub-par. Realizing it wasn't as new as I thought, I set out to have it repaired. In the past, I would just dump a bad vacuum and purchase a new one, but there was no way that was going to happen with this machine! I honestly didn't trust contacting a Kirby rep for the job, so instead contacted Vac Shack. They said they had worked on Kirby vacuums and even sold them, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did! When I went to pick up the vacuum, it looked almost brand new! The original suction power (and sound) were back. What a relief! The employee was honest and told me he wasn't able to get a stain out of the outer bag. That wasn't really important to me - I just cared about performance. I was blown away with what he was able to do to get my investment back in working order. I immediately went home and vacuumed the entire house! (I know, I'm crazy!) From there, I shared my experience with friends and family on Facebook. Thank you, Vac Shack, for a positive experience and clean carpet. :) Charit

    Vacuum cleaner works as well as it did when I first got it. and I now know what some of the little buttons and stuff do. The directions that came with this cleaner, were not at all clear.

    First, Ed knew pretty much what was wrong with the machine when I brought it in. He not only fixed that problem, but he cleaned several parts of the machine. It works very well now and I am completely satisfied. When I brought it in, he said he would work on it and on the following Tuesday, it would be done. I called him on Monday, in case he finished early. He had not, but he explained that as soon as he was finished, he would notify me. I got a voice mail on Tuesday afternoon saying the vacuum was done and giving me store hours. I picked up the machine the next day and he went through all he had done to service it. I was impressed! When I got home, I was even more impressed after using it! It was fixed and worked even better than expected!

    Called first, gentleman told me he could help me if I brought the part to my ancient carpet cleaner in. He new exactly what I needed, had the part and knew about the problem I had with my vacuum cleaner hose collapsing. Brought out both parts in a few seconds and I was all set. He was a very pleasant, professional man, the store is clean and very well organized. They carry a bigger inventory and more brands than any other store like it in town. I will return, you can bet on it

    My husband bought a remanufactured Hoover wind-tunnel vacuum at Vac Shack for $211.99, including tax, then returned it the next day, unused. The owner had told him it was new from the factory, so my husband had thought it meant new, which remanufactured obviously doesn't mean. It had lots of large scuff marks on it and had a very strange and unpleasant odor. So I had my husband return it the next day. The owner told him they have a no refunds policy, but he could buy something else instead to get his money back. So he sold my husband a Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G vacuum for $175 and a Royal ER1000 vacuum for $80. After he got home, I looked up the price of the Eureka Might Mite and found it sells at Home Depot for $60.99 and other stores for in the $60's, and has a "retail list price of $120". Thus my husband had to pay an extra $58.30 to get his original $212 back, including paying $114 extra for the Eureka vacuum, almost 3 times the price that it was sold for elsewhere in the city. I called the store 2 days later after seeing Vac Shack's website, which stated "We will beat any competitor's price." I did not identify myself and stated I'd seen that they match competitor's prices on their website. I was told yes, what vacuum was I interested in. I said the Eureka Mighty Mite. He said yes they had it there and asked what price I had on it. I told him $60.99 from Home Depot. He said he couldn't match any of the big box stores, that he could sell it to me for $150. I told him the list price on it was $120 and that there were lots of stores selling it in town in the $60's, and asked why he was selling it for way more than list price. He said he didn't know what the list price was cause he bought it from someone in, I think he said Pennsylvania. He then gave me all the reasons he couldn't sell it for the "big box stores" prices. (I totally understand that small businesses can't sell products as cheaply as big box stores and the $120 "retail price" would have been a fair price I'd have expected to see the vac listed at at Vac Shack, but I don't expect a store to sell for more than the normal retail price.) I retold him that his website said he'd match competitors prices, and he said he'd have his son change that to other vacuum store competitors. After everything he finally told me he'd sell it to me for $120 but no less. I then told him he'd sold it to my husband for $175 earlier in the week, and asked if my husband came back in would he change the price to $120. He said I'd "tricked" him, and he didn't like it that I'd "tricked" him. He said after a bit that he'd give him $50 back but that was all. He wouldn't budge beyond that. So my husband went back in and was given a credit card credit for $50, but no refund of the taxes he'd paid on that extra $50. So the net result was that my husband paid $125 plus taxes on $175 (an extra $3) for a vacuum with a list price of $120 which sells at Home Depot for $60.99. I have no idea how Vac Shack's repair service is because we haven't needed to use it, but I've read that it is good. But as for purchases from Vac Shack, we will not be doing that again. (By the way, we later went to Gall Sewing & Vac Center on Clyde Park and bought a vacuum there. They were friendly, helpful, and gave us a fair price. I highly recommend them.

    Boss? girl said she had a present for us(a pretty store bag with tag still on it and a roll of paper towel in it) when we wouldn't buy, the price was at the end even though we asked her before then, she wouldn't tell us. The different attachments she demonstrated which took awhile, more then an hour. She said she came from Cedar Springs which is quite a distance fro our house, and got huffy after that. Her boyfriend football player was there too. We eventually bought one down the road when we were all set in our house. It was very nice but couldn't handle it after I got my rheumatoid arthritis. Neighbor next door bought one shortly after our demo. The demonstrater said it would use a vaporizer like mentholatum but hers got all stuck. She did get her money back
