"<p>This past April, our Scott's riding mower (by John Deere) failed to run properly. The mower would start, but the tractor would not move. We called Limestone Farm Lawn Worksite (local John Deere dealer) to schedule an appointment. We were told they could pick it up on Monday (it was Friday) but that it would be 12-16 weeks before they could even LOOK at our mower (we knew it was busy due to the start of mowing season, but 16 WEEKS? That would have been the end of July -- and that was just to look at it NOT fix it. </p>
<p>We had scheduled a pick up, but then decided to turn to Angie's list for other John Deere dealers/repair shops. We happened upon Bud Herbert Motors, Inc. We read the reviews, were very impressed and called them first thing Monday morning. John (Spring Grove location) was very patient with our questions and told us they could come out that afternoon to pick up the mower. We scheduled an appointment with them, hung up, and immediately cancelled our appointment with Limestone. (Nothing against Limestone, but we could not wait 16 weeks for our mower). </p>
<p>A representative (Josh) from Bud Herbert showed up that afternoon (as promised) and assessed the situation. He did not think it was the engine as we initially had feared, but told us it would need to be taken to the shop to repair. He loaded up our mower to take back to the shop...imagine our surprise when he said he wasn't sure, but he thought he could have our mower back to us by Friday.</p>
<p>Sure enough, we came home on Friday to find our mower waiting for us in the driveway ready-to-go! I called Saturday morning to make sure everything was okay. Their Office Assistant said everything was good to go and John would be mailing out the invoices that Monday. Our bill arrived in Wednesday's mail. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! We thought it would be much higher! We had not asked for an initial estimate, we just said, "repair it!" So, if you do use them, you may want to get a quote before work is done.</p>
<p>As an aside, while Josh was at our house to get our mower, my husband asked him for assistance with my mother's John Deere riding mower (the deck belt had come off and needed replacement -- we had already purchased a new one, but had not put it on.) Josh was able to quickly put the new belt on AND after noticing the wear on the deck's wheels, adjusted the deck so it was "hovering' properly. It was the best $18 we ever spent! Her lawn looks gorgeous now! </p>
<p>All in all, we had a great experience with Bud Herbert Motors, and would highly recommend them!</p>
