Take control of your clutter.
The perfect home command center seamlessly balances function and flair. Meredith LeRoy of UnOriginal Mom and McKenzie Guymon of Girl Loves Glam built custom command centers to fit their family's needs while adding style to their space.
UnOriginal Mom Command Center
We don’t have an office area or a mudroom on our first floor, so we desperately needed a “drop zone” space where we could organize all kinds of things from mail, to keys, to grocery lists, to dog leashes – and everything in between! The difficult part was doing this in a very small space, just along one small wall in our kitchen. I started planning our command center by taking inventory of our daily clutter – what kinds of things were laying around that needed a more permanent home? Once I had a list of what needed a space within the command center, I sketched out some ideas on paper. Finally, I headed to the store with my list along with a specific budget in mind (because it is so easy to overspend on pretty office supplies!) I added some DIY touches to personalize the space like vinyl on the wall, a “verse of the week” chalkboard, a meal planning board, and stencils on the corkboard. It all came together to create a pretty, organized, and very useful space! To learn more about the project visit UnOriginal Mom.
Girl Loves Glam Organization Board
The modern, striped organization board family command center is the heart of my home. It literally tells us about everything going on in our lives. We have a calendar of the month, notes to write down any messages we have, our weekly menu, a spot to clip receipts or mail, another clip for scratch paper, and our cleaning list. It helps our family stay organized and keeps me sane! The stained wood stripes give it a fun detail without going overboard, while the printable pictures add a little color to offset the wood tones. We could not survive without our command center and I highly recommend this project for any household! It is a great weekend or even afternoon project!
